Gohenko Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 It's a great way for an artist or band to collect their biggest hits. It has nothing to do with the best songs, it's basically all the singles collected. Yeah, that was basically what I was trying to say, but it was hard to explain, and even I myself am little confused when I try to read my own post. But bands do not always collect just their biggest hits, each band has its own way in what songs they put in the album. Wait, what? I'm confused again...

Most of the time it isn't even the band who puts together the best of-album. It's something that is done by the record company most of the time. And it's done to earn more money, simple as that. Radiohead for example.

Bs Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 "No One's Going To Take Me Alive": The Very Best Of MUSE (Special Deluxe Edition) Urgh...That's honestly quite scary and horrible that I can genuinely imagine that Sadly though it would just be what you put for Disc 1 with NSC thrown on the end...
Killer Rabbit Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Urgh...That's honestly quite scary and horrible that I can genuinely imagine that It's scary how quickly I came to that title. Anyway, I figure it would be like this: Disc 1 (Basic Edition) - For the casuals. Discs 1 + 2 (Deluxe Edition) - For the fan in the middle. Not "casual", but not "hardcore" either. Discs 1 - 3 (Super Deluxe Edition) - For the hardcore crowd.
The Final Track Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Urgh...That's honestly quite scary and horrible that I can genuinely imagine that Sadly though it would just be what you put for Disc 1 with NSC thrown on the end... Hear ye. From the 3 albums I have.... New Born Knights Of Cydonia Take A Bow Starlight Supermassive Blackhole Uprising Undisclosed Desires (no matter how much I dislike it) Plug In Baby Micro Cuts Resistance MK Ultra Space Dementia or Bliss

New Born Knights Of Cydonia Take A Bow Starlight Supermassive Blackhole Uprising Undisclosed Desires (no matter how much I dislike it) Plug In Baby Micro Cuts Resistance MK Ultra Space Dementia or Bliss I just looked at the 'Muse Releases Owned' bit on your profile. There is no b-sides album called Undiscovered. Either you've got Hullaballoo or you've got a fake. And you really should get Absolution (their best album imo) and Showbiz.

I always thought that the band chooses the songs of the best of-album. Well, you always learn something new every day, right? And now that I think about it, that explains a lot, actually. I mean the Radiohead's best of-album.

A final way to make money out of the band

It's made by a guy on Coldplaying, he's edited the tracks so they flow better. I've been meaning to get them both, and from what I hear I'm more intrigued by Showbiz.
dekza Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I think this thread is turning into an "ideal setlist" thread
