Obi Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 A realistic Best Of would be: 1. Uprising 2. Time is Running Out 3. New Born 4. Dead Star 5. Supermassive Black Hole 6. Hysteria 7. Knights of Cydonia 8. Sunburn 9. Stockholm Syndrome 10. Bliss 11. United States of Eurasia 12. Butterflies & Hurricanes 13. Starlight 14. Resistance (Ideally Muscle Museum instead if Resistance continues to flop at gigs) 15. Map of the Problematique 16. Undisclosed Desires 17. Plug in Baby 18. Citizen Erased
Dominic. Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 well realistically if there was a Best Of album they would probably just consider the singles they've released, then from that choose the most appealing/did well in the charts, so... Cave Muscle Museum Sunburn Unintended Plug In Baby New Born Bliss Feeling Good Dead Star In Your World Stockholm Syndrome Time Is Running Out Hysteria Butterflies & Hurricanes Supermassive Black Hole Starlight Knights Of Cydonia Uprising Undisclosed Desires Neutron Star Collision yay? nay? although I'd personally want for a Greatest Hits CD... Sunburn Muscle Museum Cave Showbiz New Born Bliss Plug In Baby Citizen Erased Feeling Good Dead Star Stockholm Syndrome Time Is Running Out Hysteria Butterflies & Hurricanes Supermassive Black Hole Starlight Knights Of Cydonia Map Of The Problematique Uprising Exogenesis Not necessarily saying they're my favourites
nohopeinfear Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 1: Knights of Cydonia 2: Butterflies & Hurricanes 3: Stockholm Syndrome 4: Hysteria 5: Micro Cuts 6: Dead Star 7: Uno 8: Hyper Music 9: Unnatural Selection 10: Citizen Erased 11: Showbiz 12: Apocalypse Please 13: Fury 14: Bliss 15: Time is Running Out 16: Map of the Problematique 17: Sunburn 18: Exogenesis COMPLETE
LyraSilvertongue Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Who here would seriously buy a Best of-album? Unless it has some great b-side songs I wouldn't even consider it. I would but it would have to have something extra considering I already have everything they've released. Maybe some previously unreleased tracks or acoustic versions.
Hat Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I would but it would have to have something extra considering I already have everything they've released. Maybe some previously unreleased tracks or acoustic versions. Yeah, that's what I said.
LyraSilvertongue Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Yeah, that's what I said. I was agreeing with you. Edit: Actually, I think I'd buy it anyway, just for the sake of owning everything. I bought the Exo 12" vinyl when I already had the songs on TR and I've bought singles despite having all the albums. So, I'd like some extras but they're not a necessity.
Indyjones445 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Origin Of Symmetry, including Futurism. /thread. This Hmmm, idk I think there should be at least one more studio album before making a best of compilation. It just seems to early
Gohenko Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 This Hmmm, idk I think there should be at least one more studio album before making a best of compilation. It just seems to early Yeah, but then there would be way too many great songs to choose from, because even now I can't choose between some of their songs...but I will write my "best of"-post in here at some point, I just need to think about it first.
Plug In Guy Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 hope they will never sell something like a best of. i got all of their albums, similar to the most persons in this forum i think. i don´t need a best of but a possible best of will be the normal set list of the european arena tour in 2009
Llama of Time Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I think if they do this, they should have a second disc that's like "Best of Live performances" with their best performances from over their career Maybe include a new or hard to find B-side or two on the second disc too I'd buy it then
Plug In Guy Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 a new live album ok yes i will buy this too but just a cd with their hits from each album is not the quality i expect from muse.
Dee3Dee Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 but just a cd with their hits from each album is not the quality i expect from muse. At their current rate a Greatest Hits album is inevitable. Sad really.
Hat Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Muse: The Greatest Hits. Also known as Muse: Live at Wembley(And 50 other concerts in 2010)
VickiJ Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Who here would seriously buy a Best of-album? Unless it has some great b-side songs I wouldn't even consider it. I know I wouldn't. But like you said, only if it had b-sides. Although, I think a best of album would really help build their fan base (like they need the help ). It would expose their music to people who have heard of them and some of their songs, but don't really know what they sound like.
Jaunzems Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I would give that to all twilight fans who think smbh&nsc=MUSE, not stockholm syndrome or citizen erased
A Citizen Erased99 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 This is pretty hard but here goes nothing: 1. Space Dementia 2. Starlight 3. Hysteria 4. Hoodoo 5. New Born 6. Sunburn 7. Resistance 8. Unintended 9. Stockholm Syndrome 10. Map of the Problematique 11. Sing For Absolution 12. Bliss 13. Knights of Cydonia 14. Blackout 15. Butterflies and Hurricanes 16. Exogenesis Symphony, Part 3 (Redemption) 17. Citizen Erased 18. Fury Showbiz: 2 songs Origin of Symmetry: 4 Songs Absolution: 5 Songs Black Holes and Revelations: 4 Songs The Resistance: 2 Songs B-Side: Fury (Absolution Track)
Frakkles Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Who here would seriously buy a Best of-album? Unless it has some great b-side songs I wouldn't even consider it. The thread is not asking whether or not you would you buy a Muse 'Best Of' Album, it's asking you what tracks you would put on a 'Best Of' if you had the choice. Don't be such a constant spoil sport. Anyway, order's alright up to Micro Cuts, then it goes a bit crap but here goes: Take A Bow Dead Star Muscle Museum United States Of Eurasia Time Is Running Out Uprising Supermassive Black Hole Stockholm Syndrome Citizen Erased Micro Cuts Sunburn New Born Hysteria Showbiz Butterflies And Hurricanes Plug In Baby MK Ultra Megalomania
Supermassive_Deadstar Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 1. Apocalypse Please 2. Starlight 3. Unintended 4. Bliss 5. Undisclosed Desires 6. Hysteria 7. Dead Star 8. Sunburn 9. Stockholm Syndrome 10. Fury 11. Time Is Running Out 12. Supermassive Black Hole 13. Muscle Museum 14. Plug In Baby 15. Map Of The Problematique 16. New Born 17. Uprising 18. Knights of Cydonia +1 this should be it but what it will be if they ever do will be a compilation of all the songs that have videos to them
dontask Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Sunburn Muscle Museum Unintended Plug In Baby Newborn Bliss Feeling Good Dead Star Time is Running Out Hysteria Stockholm Syndrome Butterflies and Hurricanes Supermassive Black Hole Starlight Knights of Cydonia Uprising Resistance Undisclosed Desires almost inevitably. I hope they never ever do this.
Priad-Luabe Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 special edition 3-disc box set: disc 1 the singles (+1or 2 new songs) disc 2 b-sides disc 3 rarities/remixes/live would happily pay 20-25 pounds for it
Gohenko Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Like I promised, I will post my "Best of"-list now (but who really cares, anyway?) I did not choose my favourite songs, I chose the songs I think that represent Muse themselves. 1. Map of the Problematique 2. Plug In Baby 3. Space Dementia 4. Muscle Museum 5. Fury 6. Starlight 7. Resistance 8. Exogenesis part 1 9. Exogenesis part 2 10. Exogenesis part 3 11. New Born 12. Piano Thing (also known as Matt's Concerto) 13. Dead Star 14. Stockholm Syndrome 15. Citizen Erased 16. Bliss 17. Time is Running Out 18. Knights of Cydonia This was really hard, and I had really hard time choosing between some of the songs, but I'm quite satisfied to the result. Also, I would put a bonus disc, which would include some of their best live acts, in CD and DVD. But you all do understand that Best Of-album is not for hardcore fans, but for the lot that doesn't know Muse well or at all, or they've heard of them but are wondering which kind of music they play or something like that. For example, when I heard about Radiohead I of course bought the Best of-album because I wanted to hear what kind of music they play, because you can't always say that from just one studio album. Best Of is a great way for an artist or band to collect their best songs in one album, so that people will understand, what kind of music they play.
Hat Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Best Of is a great way for an artist or band to collect their best songs in one album, so that people will understand, what kind of music they play. It's a great way for an artist or band to collect their biggest hits. It has nothing to do with the best songs, it's basically all the singles collected.
Iceman Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 1 - We are the Universe (Studio Version) + Take a Bow * 2 - Uprising 3 - Dead Star 4 - Invincible 5 - United States of Eurasia + Piano Thing Outro 6 - Stockholm Syndrome 7 - Space Dementia 8 - MK Ultra 9 - Showbiz + Yes Please Outro (without vocals) 10 - Fury 11 - Bliss 12 - Time is Running Out 13 - Ruled by Secrecy 14 - Citizen Erased 15 - Butterflies and Hurricanes 16 - Map of the Problematique 17 - Hysteria 18 - Knights of Cydonia I just put in my favourite songs and left out many singles. I'm pretty sure Muse will never do something like this. They love their crappy songs too much to leave them out. *That may sound shit, but I'd like to hear something new.
