CarrieB Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 He didn't say this bit in the Video Hits interview: So what do you think the original source is, if not The Sun? Edit: Ok the quotes are more similar than I thought. So looks like the Sun reporter used the VH quotes and just tidied them up a bit. Took out the erms and yeahs I'm sure Matt has mentioned this previously, so perhaps additional quotes are from a different interview or interviews. I think I remember once he said it would be pretty boring playing on the moon or something as there would be no audience.
Furygirl Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 - I just read that they might be banned from Australia because Chris was smoking in between songs and Matt was encouraging the crowd to mosh Venue later released a statement saying they weren't banned. Oi!! If your going to post insults about MUSE on a thread on a MUSE sight, I'd much rather you be polite and shut up!! Welcome to the Muse forum! I'm still waiting for the live orchestra..... Considering that, I think Matt will be wearing dentures by the time this space gig thing rolls around. But it would be really awesome!
beeSides Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 real discussions eh? i'm still waiting on the hemp farm and some shorn sheep. i wonder if these discussions took place while the band was in amsterdam
Zaphod Chizzlebrox Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Playing in space would be shit. Sod all acoustic value to it, although the novelty value might be high. Give them a one way flight and leave them up there.

LyraSilvertongue Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Everyone is soooo nice! So appreciative! You lot should listen to yourselves sometimes. Well I for one am missing them, but oh well. I'm missing them. Only two more years till I get to see them live again.
lukester911 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Everyone is soooo nice! So appreciative! You lot should listen to yourselves sometimes. Well I for one am missing them, but oh well. Is it hard to breath with your head so far up?
dip Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 It's not like they're going to play a full gig, It'll be a PR stunt at best.
CarrieB Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Well I really don't care about this. It's something that may happen one day, may not. It's too far off to think about. It was nice to see the interview in Australia though.
CarrieB Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I'm missing them. Only two more years till I get to see them live again. Hmm, that's what I care about! Anyway only March and we can at least follow a few gigs again.
nohopeinfear Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Playing in space would be shit. Sod all acoustic value to itQUOTE] In space, no-one can hear you scream. Matt accepts this challenge
nohopeinfear Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Is it hard to breath with your head so far up? In space? Of course it is, there's no oxygen
a-museing Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 real discussions eh? i'm still waiting on the hemp farm and some shorn sheep. He actually did buy that farm and the sheep. http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?t=80083 Q: At the Big Day Out in January you said it was time to buy a tractor and disappear to a farm. Is that still on the agenda? A: Yeah, I've become a sheep farmer. I'm serious, I've got 50 ewes and two rams. As we speak, I'm letting the rams loose on the ewes. I got the sheep mainly because I've got a farm which has got a lot of steep hills, so the grass gets out of control unless you can get grazing animals in there, and it was too steep for cows. I've got Dorset Downs, they're pretty hardy, they can handle the weather. Q: So you're seriously a farmer now! A: Yeah, I don't bulls---! They're shearing sheep. But the main thing is they keep the land together. I don't live there, it's just land with a couple of jaded barns that need to be renovated. It's a nice place to camp. My long-term plan is to grow industrial hemp for making paper and material, but I haven't got 'round to that. When I stop touring I'm going to hang around there for a while and start shearing sheep. So we might get a gig in spece...
cherry lips Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 i don't think many would enjoy the first piece of live music to be played in space to be shitty pop music. What a fail attempt to be a hater.
Buxomflirter Queef Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 He actually did buy that farm and the sheep. http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?t=80083 Buying a piano doesn't make me a pianist
Muse are terrible Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I'd say "he's finally lost it" but that implies he had "it" in the first place. I hope this actually happens, and I hope it actually happens soon. There's no oxygen in space. Therefore Muse + space = sounds good to me. Muse are terrible.
PoisonMeteor Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Would a drumkit work in zero G? Or simulated zero g, that space plane only just leaves the atmosphere. They'll have to leave Dom behind just take the electric instruments

nohopeinfear Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 The fuck? This thread is getting pointless. Obvious troll is obvious, just ignore it.
meganne2003 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Would a drumkit work in zero G? Or simulated zero g, that space plane only just leaves the atmosphere. They'll have to leave Dom behind just take the electric instruments Yes drums would work fine in 0G. Contrary to how movies portray it, things don't move in slow motion in space. Might need to tether the kit and sticks somehow. Branson's plane does get high enough for 0G but only for a few min. That will need to improve.
CarrieB Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Of course performing Exogenesis in full is going to be a must as that is the most appropriate. Is that possible?
LyraSilvertongue Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Of course performing Exogenesis in full is going to be a must as that is the most appropriate. Is that possible? With an orchestra? In space? Matt's already said they've got too much equipment. I doubt they'd add in an orchestra too
CarrieB Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 With an orchestra? In space? Matt's already said they've got too much equipment. I doubt they'd add in an orchestra too Well, I think we will be very angry if they don't! It will be so lazy of them. Actually the next thing we might have to consider is do we consider their genes worthy to represent the human race in space?
Hat Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Well, I think we will be very angry if they don't! It will be so lazy of them. Actually the next thing we might have to consider is do we consider their genes worthy to represent the human race in space? I can see it, Muse are playing on Mars in 2020, and people are calling them lazy cunts for playing the same set as their Wembley gig.
nohopeinfear Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I can see it, Muse are playing on Mars in 2020, and people are calling them lazy cunts for playing the same set as their Wembley gig. And re: the orchestra, it'd be quite awesome if there were an orchestra playing on Earth and the two are synched live However, wouldn't there be some sort of time delay?
