Could Tom have got hold of one of Matt's old gibsons? Probably not, but some of them did survive apparently, so who knows where they are now. It's not got a story behind it or anything like that and it was a bit pricey. I only got it from the USA as nowhere had it in stock over here and it worked out about the same with shipping and customs. I was a bit surprised/disappointed to find a PCB inside this LP I bought recently...this means I'd probably have to gut the entire thing and rewire it with all new parts if I ever wanted to change pickups. I'm pretty sure the never did exact replicas, but a few with the shape got out.
