I thought Matt said they might bring Muscle Museum back after the planned performance at Lolla was skedaddled by his throat not working. But then they'll probably have forgotten that by the summer.

 

I'm interested to see the new songs. Maybe they'll fit in more with a hard rock/metal crowd.

I'm really hoping they don't tour the UK throughout exam season (Late May - Mid June), but haven't a horrible feeling that's what will happen.

And hoping they still play Glastonbury, obviously.

I'm not sure about some (all!) of the ordering but you get the picture, muse could definitely do heavy but if I'm honest you would be surprised how many metal fans like muse, personally I think a good setlist with mainly guitar based riffy songs would do the job

Why does everyone think they'll only play 3 new songs?

 

You'd think there will be a minimum of 5-6 new songs. And if the new album is as heavy as predicted, they will probably play the majority of it as to appeal to the festival fans at Download and such.

 

Also, Muse aren't going to suddenly play lots of back catalogue heavy songs just because they are heavy. Metal/heavy rock festival fans will still know and want to hear the more radio-friendly songs rather than a load of random heavy songs they don't know.

They might play 1 or 2 maybe of songs like Dead Star, Fury, Showbiz, Muscle Museum, Unnatural Selection, Assassin.

Because I really couldn't be bothered to put in any more new songs I agree with you and fully expect them to play five or six and I really don't believe that setlist will ever happen it was just a bit of fun

They should do a tour where they cut the hits of each album and play the rarer ones eg. OOS: cut New Born, Plug In Baby, Feeling Good and play Space Dementia, Hyper Music, Citizn Erased etc. Would never happen, just a thought though.

That likely would've been the 20th anniversary concerts. Not a tour, but it would have been better than nothing just Tokyo.

Also the possibility that they'll cut down on massive stage production and rotate like fuck so we wont need a rarity tour to get rarities.

They headlined in 2009 and 2013, so it seems a bit too soon to have them again.

 

If the recent leak is true, it looks like Muse will be announced as the Saturday headliners tomorrow at 8am (UK time).

God I can't believe I'm in here. I swear this is the first time I've posted in Main Muse for about 6 years

 

Personally I'm hoping they'll be announced for Download as I'm there pretty much every year and I'm in the fairly small subsection of metal fans who also like Muse. But I think if they do get announced people will kick OFF. Hardcore Download-goers won't be pleased, but I'm sure they'll be a popular booking and will draw in a lot of ticket sales. And they'll fit in well with the Slipknot / KISS combo as well.

 

Do I think they'll be smart enough to actually play a heavier set? Nahhhhh
