Gray areas are often hard to define. Saying that photos taken at an event isn't easy to define. For anyone who has attended such events knows that professional media photographers are pretty much everywhere, including the subjects of the photos. Those events are also seen as publicity opportunities by the people attending them. If they object to being photographed in a moment of PDA (P standing for public remember) then its their choice to keep that to a minimum.

 

keeping photos posted on this site band related to the band, their duties as a band, it's relevant support, and it's members is a way of keeping these issues at bay. If they tweet pics themselves that would obviously fall under that.

 

It also leaves the choice of what parts of their personal lives makes it on to their website clearly up to them. No need then to say management should decide. I'm guessing that management has more pressing matters to attend to. But oh yeah, guessing is a gray area isn't it? :LOL:

The mod team discussed the issue, and at this time there is no plan to completely ban photos of Matt that happen to also feature Kate Hudson. It's just silly and unnecessary, and even if we did, there will always be the odd exception like a posed picture with fans, or twitpics that may feature KH. Therefore, we're going to have to try and rely on the virtually impossible: for forum members to use common sense. At times when that inevitably fails, the mod team reserves the right to remove any photos we feel are inappropriate.

fortunately there is the good thing that you cant really see it very well because of the dim light LMAO and jared leto in there helps to distract you a bit too :p (yes, yes, i know plenty of people find him an idiot)

Jeez why are some of you trying to give us such a hard time about this? We're trying to do the best we can with the somewhat vague guidelines management have told us to enforce and some of you are intent on causing as many problems as possible for us.

 

In these sorts of cases we're trying to be as reasonable as possible, but if it comes down to it we'll err on the side of caution and that means tighter restrictions on what can and cannot be posted in threads like these. Please use some common sense so we don't have to come up with overly restrictive or complicated rules and start more heavily policing these threads.

uhm...i'm the only one bringing this up, but i'm not trying to give you a hard time.

vague guidelines...yes they are. and that is why i am saying it would be a good idea to have a clear and simple policy in place before we get the influx of new members that will inevitably create more work for you and your team when the new album comes out.

 

the mods cleaned house in '09 a good six months before the resistance came out, and it made it so much easier for those of us who post on MM to help guide the n00bs. i remember this well because olly and i discussed it back then quite a lot. :LOL:

 

i know you're not feeling well, so please...this is not an attack, but i am making a point of highlighting the inconsistencies here because you will have problems with this issue later and sooooo many more of them. that is all i'm trying to say.

Oh! Okay. :) Never seen it before, that's all. I have my doubts he's a "teenager" in the photo though. I'd guess early 20's.

 

Well, considering Matt was 21 in 1999 and those pictures definitely look like they were from a couple of years before Showbiz - I'd say he was about 18/19.

 

Also, I've just realised he looks very 'Jonny Greenwood' in the one on the right :chuckle:
