Speedster
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ldU3KOMltg Sounds pretty perfect to me, atleast. i was playing around with some of the synth and distorion settings on my Pod X3 Live, then i stumbled across this. haze015
Nah. The +1 octave is all wrong for a start and far too much metal going on. Would also have helped if he was in tune.

Just need to make it sound like the speakers are being blown apart as well as get something to keep the high end there to replicate the synth. Don't know what you're using, but if you can split the signal, would be able to get closer. The original is a really rough fuzzy bass, with not much treble and the synth over the top providing all that. So if you could have a DI'ed signal mixed in, would get you there. Phill
and a bass instead of a guitar!
Impulse 101
The "out of tune" bit isn't the guitar. It's the tracking of the synth. The POD can't translate the pitches fast or accurately enough to replicate what is being played. I've messed around with them too and they always suck. matthijs
too bad it was done digitally... perhaps I could pull it off now though if I'd buy the Markbass Synth. That one seems to be capable of fast tracking!
Neil.
sounds good though matt. what you using for fuzzstortion? Bass Big Muff?
matthijs
it was all guitar rig'ed. But now I use the bass big muff for distortion and it works like a charm. Very polished fuzz but not as overly polished as the blowtorch. For overdrive I use the Tech 21 Bass VT and that TRULY is a beauty, also worth buying for guitar. Instant rolling stones sound! Neil.
nice. i've 2 muffs on my rig. it really is such a nice fuzz. you can see why it's been around for so long. When i got to play hysteria on my guitar, i just go whammy -1oct, Big muff, and just make sure i have the tone rolled back to the bass side a good bit, with sustain on full. sounds pretty decent for a guitar sound. matthijs
Thing is you want the blended sound and it's just hard creating that life. I do want to try out the Mammoth some day but it's just too expensive.

Xut
Not sure, but I think he's tone got a lot worse for this tour! Indeed, the in your face-ness is replaced by a really agresseive synthy sound, which is really cool.. but where's the bass at.
