Last Muse gig attended

So because I didn't have the opportunity to go to any pre-2009 gigs I'm not allowed to have an opinion based on what has been a pretty shit tour overall?

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. I have based my opinion around going to 7 gigs and being truly disappointed by two of them, and just generally paying attention.

So no, you shut up instead and get over yourself.

actually minus the setlists, the 2010 summer/stadium tour was the best muse have performed since pre-bhar era. so 5/7 gigs you loved during 2009/2010, okay, now you're telling me because you didn't enjoy 2 gigs means you won't go to anymore ?

ok your loss, i'm not gonna change your mind or attempt to for that matter.

No.

Those two gigs were awful, but that's not the only reason I'm not going to see them anymore.

Looking at the BHaR tour, I saw there was quite a lot of variety in the setlists. Throwing around songs in different order, Showbiz showing up every now and then, Fury and Micro Cuts etc.

With that in mind, I thought it was really cool that my favourite band still offered variety for their more hardcore fans, despite having gotten really big really fast. And that's why I booked 7 gigs for this tour. But since they've almost completely ignored the songs that hardcore fans want to hear, only playing them once in Asia, they have pissed me off more than I thought to be possible.

I didn't have the chance to go see them at their prime, but I feel that I should still have the chance to see the songs that made them my favourite band in the first place. They are clearly capable of playing their older songs, and it would shut up a lot of the moaners, but they won't for some reason.

5/7 ain't bad.

I went to BDO Perth and Werchter this year. And going to the Perth gig in December.

Only 'rare' one I got was "Bliss" at Werchter. Yeah 2 festival gigs, so wasn't expecting much.

Yes they *could* mix it up more but then there would be more people out there moaning about how they didn't hear USOE, UD, or Resistance. And unfortunately I think those non-hardcore musers outnumber us hardcore musers.

I mean pretty much every other band plays EXACTLY the same set every gig (cf coldplay on viva la vida tour, keane on perfect symmetry tour etc etc) so can't really complain.

Sigh. They can't please everyone. But they should play longer sets. 15 songs for an arena gig is not enough :(

Everyone that says this is an idiot (not meaning any offence).

Say that you aren't going to see them again this tour is fine. Wait till next tour after the sixth album. Of course there'll be setlist changes. Just people seem to be too ignorant to see that. This tour, Cave, Nishe and others were brought back, much to the fans delight. Novelty wore off quick, but it was cool.

The only setlist changes I can see happening for the next tour would be dropping New Born entirely, drop some of the Resistance-stuff that won't be relevant anymore (Guiding Light, Overture), and maybe even drop Map of the Problematique. Replace those with the shittiest songs on the new album and you're set.

Why not wait for the new album and then decide if they're worth seeing live?

5 years of knowing Muse.

Have bought the 5 albums.

Bought the 3 DVDs.

Has over 20 bootleg DVDs.

Has spent millions of hours listening to Muse, playing Muse on guitar, watch live performances on Youtube.

Yet, I have never seen Muse live before.

My life seems empty.

I need some comfort.

Really? Awwww.

Where abouts are you? Some ridiculous location that Muse will never play at?

My only gig was Wembley 10th, considered possibly the worst stadium tour date, and I still loved it. You need to see them.
