  1. Y'know, by which I mean you get bored of a song or just don't listen to it, and suddenly it comes on and you listen to it, and you realise how great it is/was! For me it's been: The Small Print: Skipped it lots Stockholm Syndrome: I got annoyed with the riff at the start, I thought it started things too slowly. Now I find the willpower to wait it out. Apocalypse Please: Largely because of the 'Why does everyone bum Apocalypse Please?' thread. You must have some!
  2. Supremacy Bliss Panic Station Supermassive Black Hole Uprising Madness Map Of The Problematique Butterflies & Hurricanes United States Of Eurasia Apocalypse Please Sunburn Dracula Mountain Animals Interlude Hysteria Liquid State Starlight Follow Me Time Is Running Out Knights Of Cydonia Blackout Dead Star Stockholm Syndrome Take A Bow The 2nd Law: Unsustainable Plug In Baby Survival
  3. Over the years I've heard; Muscle Museum Showbiz Sunburn Unintended Bliss Hysteria New Born Citizen Erased Plug in Baby Microcuts Space Dementia Feeling Good Ruled by Secrecy Sing for Absolution Butterflies & Hurricanes Time is Running Out Apocalypse Please The Small Print Stockholm Syndrome Blackout Thoughts of a Dying Aethiest Knights Of Cydonia Supermassive Black Hole Map Of The Problematique Invincible Starlight Take A Bow Hoodoo City of Delusion Soldiers Poem DES (Glorious) The Groove Man Of Mystery Forced In V 04, Earls Court 04, Reading 06 & Wembley 07 Pretty good range me thinks Though I'd love to hear Map of Your Head.. Doubt it'll ever happen!
  4. I know most folk on here must have a particular line, chorus, verse, bar, bridge, solo etc. that they love and listen to over and over again. I want to know. Mine is at the end of Citizen Erased when it goes from F major to F minor.....mmmmm
  5. ...what performances and songs would you put on it? I was reading a few days ago about U22, a live album U2 made for their 360 tour; all the performances on the album were voted for by messageboard fans, who could pick from all of songs in all of the stadium gigs on the tour (or something like that). This got me thinking - if you had to make a T2L tour live album or a BH&R live album for example (with complete choice of songs and gigs), what would yours look like?
  6. Which songs do well at pumping up the crowd in the beginning, and ending the concert with a bang? I think they made a smart choice using Unsustainable the opener, because it really does get the crowd ready for what's about to come up. Though, I think one of their epics like KoC should be the closer.
  7. Two of Muse's more "pop-py" songs. As I find it, response is sharply divided amongst fans, some condemning and some lauding (either of them, or both). Which do you prefer? (And sorry, there's no "Neither" option. ) I actually like them both, but if I had to choose, I'd probably go with "Starlight". It's one of Muse's best songs, IMO and I'm forever in love with that background music at 1:43 - 1:58. "Madness", on the other hand, is just a decent turn of events from their sixth studio album, different from the other "louder" songs from the album.
  8. What's everybodies thoughts on what songs will return to the stadium tour: either being rotated or being played every night? I reckon: Butterflies & hurricanes Take a bow Eurasia-although I still think it will be played this tour Unnatural selection I'm really hoping for either micro cuts or deadtar but think I'm in dreamland.
  9. The definitive poll on which muse song is best. I have included six songs from each of the first 4 albums to vote for, plus five B-Sides that often pop up on the board. My apologies if I have missed out on your favourite, please comment on it if its missing and make your voice heard! Get Voting!
  10. I'll most definitely be attending this gig, and possibly the Cincinnati one as well. I suspect we'll see quite a few familiar faces from the Detroit/Nashville gigs show up here; welcome everyone!
  11. So it's here at last! Simple question, which track is your favourite?! (upon first or second listen)
  12. Okay, so I decided to import this idea from the Songs And Releases thread on the album. Let's face it, the last few years have seen this board give the band a lot of shit for their live performances for various reasons, more than any other group of fans I've ever known to be honest, but I thought with the current cycle of touring less than a fortnight away from ending, it might be a good time to try and reflect on some positive points. Personally, I think the stage designs this tour have been great. The towers in the arena shows and the pyramid for the stadiums were both great and pushed new boundaries in what the band have attempted in their live shows as a spectacle. I also thought the visuals were better than ever, specifically in Exo Pt 1 on the towers, and also I think TIRO (whichever one had the water rising up the towers with the person trying to swim to the top), and a few others. I also think the band are much better technically as musicians than they ever have been before and you can pick up on that live. We've also actually seen quite a wide variety of songs played (shocking when you think about it) over the course of the tour. All of TR except Exo 2 and 3 which were only soundchecked, All of OOS in a week or so, Sunburn, Cave, Unintended, Butterflies, Ruled By Secrecy, Take A Bow, Soldier's Poem and obviously all the well known singles. Obviously I know the constant debate about how such a small minority of people have anything other than the staple TR tour setlist has been covered, but I thought that was an interesting point to mention anyway. Anyway, with enough moaning about song choices, short shows, etc, to fill several books, what have you actually enjoyed about shows in the last few years?
  13. I recently just got back to listening to The Resistance non-stop... (Let England Shake and King of Limbs were the only ones in my playlist for the past month ) What an incredible album! I came across a cool list of what people think is the best track from The Resistance. Have a look: http://www.zaysay.com/list/best-muse-songs-from-the-resistance I ranked Undisclosed Desires as my #1, followed by Guiding Light and Resistance. What is your favorite?
  14. In your opinion, what do you think is the most beautiful Muse song? I know there are many Muse songs that are considered to be beautiful. Maybe some are seen as more beautiful than others. I'd just love to hear other people's opinions. I think Hyper Chondriac Music is hauntingly beautiful. I love it way more than Hyper Music because I find that the slowness of the song creates some sort of atmospheric vibe. Whenever I hear it, I just get lost in the song. It's actually my favourite Muse song
  15. OK, I know it is hard, but do you all have a favorite song on each of the 4 main albums: Showbiz, OoS, Absolution, and BH&R? If it is too hard, it is for me as well, but maybe pick the one you are into the most right now. Hmmm, for mine, i guess it goes: Showbiz: Sunburn (gotta give props to Muscle Museum tho) OoS: Citizen Erased (again hard, love Space Dementia and more..) Absolution: Hysteria BH&R: Map of the Problematique Idk if this will make a good topic cuz I love all the songs, but at least I tried
  16. Well, I know that there is a top 5 thread, but 5 favorite muse songs doesn´t cover it for me. I just love too many songs! And top ten doesn´t do it, either... so what would be your top twenty?
  17. Most of my friends love Undisclosed Desires and United States of Eurasia, and call themselves fans, and that they all "really" want to come to the Aus tour, but shouldn't they leave these positions to the true fans?
  18. This is my first thread, please be nice I looked it up and everything, there doesn't seem to be anything like this one (there's one for JUST the resistance, but I thought there should be one for the songs in general). This is also not the same as "Easter Eggs in Muse songs". Basically, little moments in Muse songs that you love, that you always hear, that make you smile or whatever For example, the piano running all the way through Sunburn, not just the little bit at the beginning... The way it changes and you don't really notice it... Also the bass line in Sunburn (I'm listening to it right now heehee) So yeah, what's yours?
  19. i wrote a little sci fi yarn based on the album... but it's aparently too long to post here. I have posted it on facebook though... I still think a rock opera based on the album could work! it would be awesome!!! if you wanna read the story look for me on facebook: kela nnarka francis it's in my notes called waking...
