  1. 40W is much more than youll need to be honest but if you have other uses for it itll be great as far as I know that should be all you need - pups, solder, iron. the pickups come with the cables to wire it up so it should be all good.
  2. I build pedals and do my own wiring, I've been using a 25W Iron and it's perfect. soldering ITSELF isn't hard, it's getting the parts to stay where you want them to while you do so Just finished making a woolly mammoth clone today and the hardest part was getting the resistors and such to stay put while I got the solder and iron in position. I'd say just practice on loose wire first.
  3. Paper in oil personally, but that's just me. I have been using the standard ones that come with it so far, and they've been giving me a bit of trouble. Hopefully they get here within the week so I can test it out and be happy. When you say you managed to destroy them, does that mean you messed up or the pots were terribly made - because now I'm scared
  4. I'd say just sand it off and if it ends in horror tell us so we dont Mostly kidding, I wouldn't mind taking it off but it's not a huge issue to me at the moment. I'm definitely gonna grab the Red Glitter one asap though Also Ordered a new pot, the EVH low friction one. I was having quite a bit of issues lately with the standard ones, signal cutting if tapped and what not.
  5. Does it? I heard some samples from NAMM (Not sure if that's a good enough example) and I thought it sounded awful. I'm biased against MOST multi-fx units however, aside from kemper/Axe-FX/Helix
  6. I have a guitar pro file with the music on it, but I'm 100% sure its not official
  7. Ordering a programmable looper today, decided to wait on the sustainiac as my check wasn't as big as I hoped....though I gotta admit I was tempted. I'm excited to basically make presets with the pedals I already have and to stop tap dancing The sound quality is garbo to me, but if you can weasel a good sound out of it, I don't think it'd be bad
  8. I have bad sweat too, hence why I use Elixirs religiously except on my 7. and yeah I think I might get some new pots and capacitors as well, I feel like it'd do some god. Maybe an excuse to buy the version of the sustainer that changes pots? I was thinking about sanding the lacquer down to be honest as well.
  9. Already? I've never used or had them so i dont know if thats normal or not. The only thing wrong with my MBC at the moment is that sometimes if I bump the volume pot slightly the sound cuts off completely...just gotta open her up and see if its faulty soldering but I've been too lazy.
  10. Yeah it might be tbh, I have lots of use for a on/off switch but switches tend to break with the amount and strength of which i use them for staccato stuff for now I just have a mute on a pedal in my chain instead. tho I don't think it'd be hard to turn it into a switch if you found one of equal size or didnt mind routing EDIT: I meant have, it's been a long day
  11. I'm 99% sure he used a Nailbomb which is why the MBK-2 sounds identical I personally love the Devi Ever Hyperion for my Muse tones - I wish I had some recordings of it but alas I dont A lot of Multi-effects nowadays like the POD HD and the RP1000 are going to be great, but since it seems like every one here has the POD that might be better to share patches
  12. Most pickups are going to vary slightly but they're the same basis, the MBK-2 set is equivalent give or take a tiny amount of tweaking to the Nailbomb/Mississippi Queen set, and the MBK-3 set is more or less equivalent to the Aftermath. If they arent the same pickup, they're extremely closely related, like i said. Well, I play lots of instrumental prog and such so I use my neck for the soaring lead type sounds for melodies and a lot of times blended with bridge for cleans. It's no problem for the late reply, no big deal. And yeah I use the bridge way more, but I just like the idea of being prepared in a sense, that if I ever find myself needing a specific tone, I have the specific way to get in on the guitar - though I actually enjoy playing live shows and what not so I'm a bit biased. I can't wait to get mine Just gotta figure out if I want the switches or the pot, I don't have a drill at home and I cba to pay some dude $75+ and wait another week for them to be done with my guitar....
  13. I know, I was just saying he's been pushing them since of my new interest in BareKnuckles:D I love the Glove. I almost debated getting one but went for the upper class EHXtortion instead.
  14. Liking the case, I'm a fan of rectangle cases myself, so I'm gonna see if I won't jus tbuy one of those for around 50-60 bucks and put subtle anime references on it:p As for the MBK-2 and 3 I recommend checking out clips for the Bare Knuckle Nailbomb and the Aftermath ( respectively) I'm 99% sure the Manson versions are those pickups, maybe ever so slightly different ( if at all) and with a Manson cover. My friend who's worked with Bare Knuckle and has been trying to get me to take a pair of Holy Divers off his hands (which I just might) has told me they're really similar. also did you check out the Lace Sensor HG-1500? I remember linking some neck single coil sized pickups to you, but I can't seem to recall if you wanted it to be a humbucker or just wanted it not to hum in general.
  15. True, I'm still probas gonna buy one anywho, just man i wish more people didnt want theirs so i could have one instead. Also they're like 700 here or 650 or something here, and that was mostly the reason I wanted a sustainiac in the first place was actually using one, otherwise I'd have bought a feedback sustainer/booster pedal from boss....which i STILL might do now that I mention it...
  16. Yeah the problem being is that dealers will often sell things at a street price and not MSRP, so I was hoping for that - or maybe a used resale SOMEWHERE close ;_;
  17. heavily debating buying a sustainiac but it doesnt seem like many places sell them BESIDES them. I just wanted a better deal than 230 bucks for it.
  18. Ugh, remember a few posts back about the one guy talking about how the matt black was getting kind of shiny from where his hand had touched it while playing? It's happening to mine now, and while I don't mind it nearly as much because worn looking guitars are great, it's a little weird looking when I look down. Good thing it still sounds great tho
  19. you think we'll start to see Cort versions of most of his other famous finishes?
