  1. thats actually the primary reason I dont like the blond one/classic ones. Also I play tons of metal... I sure hope a guitar center close to me will stock these (I know they wont but I can dream) just so I can at least PLAY it before buying. All of them look great, excited for any NAMM coverage that happens that might have something to do with these.
  2. I'm sure we've all seen this by now, certainly excited as heck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mZEydyZsU0 I'm hoping those aren't ACTIVE pickups and just covers, I think I'll take them off if they're just pickup covers.
  3. I think the black ones incredible. That ones hot too though, definite runner up.
  4. Super hype about the Satin Black one, probably will buy and string up for D-Standard/Drop-C. my gf is excited for the standard tele models since she loves teles so much but I just can't get into them, especially that pickguard shape.
  5. I had no idea, not even kidding. I don't like the Ovation headstock but fuck if the sound is like the GP and Josh in general can't deny it in the slightest. looks hype as heck. I'm sure as well. To be honest, for 599/699 I'd rather get a faded model or something or just go a little higher and get a trans blue used gibson somewhere, imo.
  6. The M2 models already are cheap as heck too, wow. I'm gonna try to definitely pick up Gibson models then. Hopefully a Les Paul in a blue finish and a Firebird in a red or blue finish. The only problem is I know for sure that they wont put great pickups in them (easily fixable) and I'm iffy about wiring and electronics (also easy fix). Maybe limited finish options? but for 399 who can really complain lol.
  7. My friend paid about 200 for the Eastwood Ultra GP model. He recently sold it because he used his LP more, and went and bought a Wampler Pinnacle and also some Gretsch guitar. I can't say I like the model he got MORE but it certainly is nice as fuck. I had actually no idea Ovation made that model/style, that's bonkers lol.
  8. All this talk of octave effects makes me want to sell my Micro Terror and grab some kind of Whammy effect soon... Also long time no see my homies
  9. Haven't had a post in a while lads, sorry about that, life stuff caught up with me, just is like that sometimes. Got some new gear though, Super stoked! Bassbreaker 007 head and a Tone City Model B pedal for anything high gain that I need
  10. Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that DeviEver is back, just wanted to share this because The Hyperion is probably the Musiest fuzz pedal I've used in a while with solid tones. think I'll pick up another one eventually. It'll have to do for me till I can get the money to get a dang kemper to profile some good amps
  11. I have it set on the first option, but if I see it start clipping, I'll change it to the second setting (-10 dB I think). I also get the hiss from high gain, but I think it's just cause I needed a noise suppressor maybe. I have no solutions for that yet sadly Glad to hear it helped also! It's such a handy mic, especially at the price, got mine scratch and dent for 30 bucks.
  12. I record my stuff with a blue snowball, it works best if you have it set against your grillcloth. Haven't noticed any difference where i put it in relation to the XY axis of it but angles change it databasing and makes my tone lose tons of body. Try angling slightly if your tone is bright but otherwise your milage vary on having it straight on. I recommend slightly off center near the lower leftish side of the speaker, but I'm sure that varies hella hard between cabs Dont have clips ATM I'm at work though, but let me know if you try this and it works.
  13. I wouldn't mind that in the slightest, It may or may not be an official one though Also having watched the Kemper/Valve video, the higher gain really does make it harder to tell in my opinion, but the Bassbreaker was easy pickings for me. technology has come a super far way in my opinion, and so have pedals for that matter (looking into a Wample Triple Wreck specifically for this reason) that might have been why I pulled it out, but it was also previously not working but due to a jack that was unsoldered, and now it has to be something else entirely. I just need to start my own pedal building company already so I can just learn this for myself
  14. If I was more than just a bedroom player and started to gig/tour again I'd buy one, but jesus they're expensive. Ditto with Axe FX II. they're amazing stuff though, but I'd need a tube power amp for the AxeFXII. This. Holy crap. makes me remember I have fuzz factory circut that is sitting outside of its enclosure and now the enclosure is lost, but theres no signal when on. Need to figure out whats wrong with it
  15. That sounds REALLY good! I've been thinking about getting one, how do you like it? I kinda want that and a super saturated heavy distortion pedal (open to suggestions) to throw in front of my new amp
  16. I have a love hate with the Holey Mansons, they're really pretty but they trigger the FUCK out of my Tryptophobia. one day when I'm not poor I'll be able to afford a manson:LOL:
  17. no fretwork needed, but I still need to get a new volume pot that actually makes it through the body, and the matte has worn off a little on the body where I accidentally buffed it off with some sweat and playing. Other than that theres a nick on the neck by the 3rd fret I think, which is actually okay because I use it as a marker for my hand
  18. Has anyone here had the pleasure of trying the Lace Alumitone humbuckers? I'm thinking of grabbing a Deathbucker soon because they're mega cheap in terms of pickups and I can still get good high gain from it.
  19. I didnt think it was THAT bad! I think they did a pretty decent job in the video, but it all seems like typical " well these are the closest we can get to modern pedals that Jimi used, so here it is" Fuzz face and Vox wah are kind of must haves, and any old Octaving fuzz could be great for the octavix slot. but I know what you mean with the right handed strat thing, I don't particularly think that matters. However, it's a jimi edition strat and its within budget - And while I DONT think all strats sound the same, they're all pretty similar, tone wise.
  20. I'm eyeing that Ibanez KP soon, but I dont have the full dosh yet. However if you are interested in working a trade out including the Mastotron... EDIT:L also that fernandes FSK... ffffffffff
  21. personal opinion on all Line6 stuff is that I hate the tone's they have and any modeling they have is turrible. That being said tons of members on the forum here seem to like it and that's okay.
  22. How does it feel? what grit sandpaper did you use? also would you consider it a success overall? Seeing as that mines already frankensteined I might just do the same to mine lol
