Ok I need to share this... At first I was like "what the fuck, muse is now a "heal the world" kind of band... Then I just listened to it right now and, for the first time with a muse song, I was struck with a feeling of happiness and hope, and I love that. Now I can actually say that the album is brillant! (it was the last song I was kind of having difficulties with)
WOW srsly, give that stuff.
-
not sure the about the lyrics of Aftermath yet. But love the melody and esp love the guitar solo.
We're bound together, now and forever nananana:))))
I'm gonna throw up.
-
Literally what I said a page or so ago - this feels so teenage Muse, but without all the angst and instead confidence and clarity.
This is the first song post Showbiz/Hullabaloo era that reminds me of that time. I like it more with every listen.
More like cheesiness.
Tell what you're taking guys, must be good stuff.
The song is utter shit.
-
How did we get in so much trouble?
Then the chorus seems like something from the post-Sams Town The Killers book of songwriting - 3/10
Overall i'd give it 6. The highs are higher than the last two albums and the lows aren't as low but still leaves me underwhelmed
About the Killers.. in terms of lyrics maybe but in terms of music... yeah post Sam's Town Killers had some cheesy songs (Here with me, Spaceman) but nothing THAT horrific. Their cheesy songs don't remind of boybands while, and I can't fookin believe it, Muse actually achieved that. Besides Day & Age is amazing And Battleborn was decent.
But I agree with the overall rating. It's 6 for me too. Comaprable to T2L.

Got mine in the mail just now! I'm nervous based off of most of your guys' reactions, but I'm hoping it's at least better than TR (right?).
Not really, sadly.
-
Cut the last section out from Globalist and added a bit of fadeout.. it's almost perfect now (well, ends a bit too fast but at least with fadeout it's not so sudden). Shame theres nothing to be done with the rest of the songs tho...
-
Drones>BH&R
It's totally must be hype related.
-
Globalist should end at 6:58.. gonna cut it and listen to it without that last section..
-
wow guys do you really find Drones better than Showbiz or Resistance?? I mean.. TR maybe, yeah but SHOWBIZ?
-
Brandon's newest album is actually pretty amazing...
-
"now you are dead inside.... are you dead inside now?"
i totally am. amen.
-
I swear I've been listening to a different Aftermath to you lot. Haha!
yeah, seeing all thoses 8s and 9s is confusing... I must have downloaded some fake really..xD
-
Wait for it...
Haha so true... I liked the guitar at first.. really Dire Straits style. There was potential.. but then that ending.. oh god so awful.
-
Alright this is weird. I didn't really like Revolt on the first listen. 2nd time through it's really clicking with me. What is happening to me guys?
You're forcing yourself to like it... feel ya bro.
-
revolt gave me cancer.. what the actual fuck
-
I think after BHAR (arguably TR) they forgot how to write cohesive albums (and good music.. with exceptions).
-
So... out of 10.
Dead Inside 8
Psycho 7
Mercy 4
Reapers 9
The Handler 9
Defector 7
Revolt 1
Aftermath 6 (would be 7-8 if it wasn't for the last part..)
The Globalist 6
Drones 2
about 5,9/10. Slightly worse than T2L (though Reapers and Handler are better than any track on T2L IMO)
OoS>Abso>BHAR>Showbiz>TR>T2L>Drones.
Shame, I was hoping for it to be between BHAR and Showbiz.
Muse - Greatest Hits

Well, technically it's not really Muse is it? It's not even a cover really, just a copied/pasted music from Chopin.
