Matt is such a good salesman for his music.
-
T2L was when they did their own mixing and mastering, wasn't it? That was definitely their best production-wise. It's a shame the majority of the songs on it definitely needed some assisted direction.
-
Is it? The Resistance was Muse at their dullest (mix-wise).
I thought it was mixed well. But maybe it's because my palette was tainted by Drones.
-
I've always had this ridiculous pipe-dream that they'd take their electronic influences and work with Nigel Godrich. I know it'll never happen but I couldn't imagine that project would be anything less than spectacular.
-
Mike Elizondo is the producer of Dig Down, which isn't that encouraging. The guy who did the Resistance mix also did the mix for Dig Down, which is encouraging.
-
The Soundcloud instrumental is a fanmade thing. They never stated it was official but somehow it got spread around as an instrumental leak.
-
Dead Inside was similar in structure to Madness too, but that was ultimately a much better song.
What i'm worried about is the comparisons to other Muse songs. After Resistance, I felt like Muse had trouble creating new formulas for their music where they actually pulled it off. Sure they did Unsustainable, but that wasn't very good. There were a few good tracks on Drones like Reapers and Handler that followed their own method, but otherwise the good tracks followed the foundations of other songs. Madness>DI, Starlight>Mercy, Uprising>Psycho, Exo>the Globalist, etc.

Snippets of this length are absolutely nothing to go by.
Recall:
People thinking Psycho would be the best thing ever because it had 0305030
I remember people(including myself) thinking it would be Marilyn Manson inspired because of the whispered vocals.
-
It's a few seconds of a section of one instrument in the track. Shows absolutely nothing.
-
I can say this about Drone; while I don't listen to T2L or The Resistance(minus 3 or so song), I still go through the album quite a bit. I'm much less critical of the lyrics now too.

#PrayForReapers
They're probably gonna play it the 2nd night, alongside CE, AP, and some other special song while night 1 gets shafted per tradition.
-
Remarkable. I didn't complain too much about the setlists but dropping Reapers which is probably the best new live song, ridiculous.
-
Nah, the Resistance had worse setlists. Especially when it came to the later portions of the US legs.
-
Muse had the whole Psycho tour for "old timey" fans. Are these the best setlists on the planet? No, but honestly on average The Resistance tour was probably worse than these we've gotten so far.
-
I've said it before and i'll say it again, Nigel Godrich would take Muse to new heights.
-
The Groove.
I was jamming out and I had the urge to play the riff. I'd love if Muse did more Hendrix-esc stuff like that, it's just a jam.
-
AP is the much better song but USOE isn't bad live.
-
I'm so fucking sick of Resistance. Remarkable it's still being played.
-
So it started with Drones into Drill Sergeant?
Hahaha.
That's immensely stupid.
Edit: Fuck yeah, Bliss!

it's the blow job hole, since he's at the perfect level to felate the rest of the band.
He's already taking it from the back in terms of workload.
-
I thought Uprising was really good during T2L tour.
-
Reapers is top 5 for my favorite Muse songs now, I'm never not in a mood to listen to it.

Those Price influences are really apparent in the vocals.
