  1. Hate This and I'll Love You Screenager Sing for Absolution Invincible (cheese) Guiding Light (double cheese) Save me (triple cheese) Revolt (ultra cheese)
  2. I think Revolt is going to be a good hit as a single in the US - just down their alley, to my understanding. Muse is definitely going to be playing Revolt, Defector and The Globalist on the new tour. I just really hope they make some changes to The Globalist ending, when it goes live... Like, do an insane transition into Citizen Erased or something. I feel like the ending, as it is now, would feel a bit anti-climatic for the audience.
  3. Would love to see a Dream Theater-cover... But I fear that Muse would actually lack the technical skill to do something like "Endless Sacrifice"... I would love to see Matt go crazy on stage, while they get a guest-singer to rap in RatM's "Killing the Name" or "Bulls on Parade". Queen covers would be nice. "Radio Gaga" or "Killer Queen" would be cool. Some QOTSA has potential too - "Burn the Witch", "I Appear Missing" or "Song for the Dead". Oh - and Slipknot. Corey Taylor and Muse co-op would be insane. Imagine "Spit It Out" a la Muse, with Bellamy screaming "All you wanna do is drag me down, all I wanna do is stamp you out!"
  4. SHOWBIZ: Escape Overdue HTAILY ORIGIN: Screenager Dark Shines (is really good) Feeling Good (doesn't feel all that good to me) ABSOLUTION: Apocalypse Please TIRO Sing for Absolution BH&R: MotP Soldier's Poem Invincible THE RESISTANCE: Undisclosed Desires USoE Guiding Light THE 2ND LAW: Explorers (is beautiful, though) Big Freeze Save me DRONES Revolt (Ok, Defector)(But not really...) Revolt Revolt (Ok, Aftermath)(But not really!)
  5. I actually really enjoyed the vocals on Defector... though the lyricism has lacked in Muse in general since the wonder that was Hoodoo, and Defector is no exception - "belly" and "yellow". Reminds me of that disgusting guy from Sin CIty...
  6. I thought of that as well - but I feel like that would go against the last part of the song, where the protagonist regains control of and hope for himself... Ending on such a dark note seems a bit off when you think about Revolt and Defector coming up next on the album. EDIT: Love your profile pic and sig - Mads Mikkelsen is fucking brilliant.
  7. At the end of the lyric video, we see a bigger "black-hooded" dude over the, apparently, deceased other "black-hooded" dude. I thought this might be symbolic of the protagonist but why represent him the same way you did the antagonist? It made me wonder: Do you guys think this is a foreshadowing of The Globalist, where the protagonist actually turns evil and becomes a new, more malevolent dictator? It just puzzled me a bit.
  8. I like all muse songs... So this tough. But songs I might consider skipping on my iPod... Either because they seem too soft or weak. Blackout Hate This And I'll Love You Screenager Invincible Guiding Light Honorable Mentions: Save Me, Big Freeze, Falling Away With You, Starlight, IBTY. Then again, I'm in a "heavy" period. So this list is not carved in stone.
  9. Awesome, thanks! And yes, Chris manages to get such a beefy sound... it's crazy!
  10. Don't know if anyone has asked this before but does anyone know the tuning of The Handler? It's sounds heavier than Drop D but it might just be the low bpm having it's effect.
  11. Spot on... Except Psycho is a little bit more... I don't wanna say soft but "less aggressive" than what they did around and before Showbiz. An example could be Agitated. This is probably due to Mutt's influence and Matt's stylistic and vocal changes. But the general sound and use of instruments is definitely from that era. Perhaps Psycho's era is "Drones"?
  12. This. I really hope they've redone the mixing on the actual album, 'cause right now it just seems like a terrible mess to be honest. Mercy is way to quiet and poorly mixed. To have that on the same album as something as bombastic, heavy and properly produced as The Handler is very weird.
  13. Yup, this is pretty accurate. The Handler lived up to every expectation I had!
  14. Holy christ. My body is not ready for another hype-train after Mercy and Reapers... Got high hopes for this one as well. The fact that it's supposed to be a call-and-response to Showbiz excites me a lot.
  15. Hahahaha, It was originally going to be Wembley, a stadium, but I changed my mind halfway through the post. Though I forgot to change the location in the actual post, I actually wanted to experience them really up-close. Whoops. Gonna change it to "Amager Bio", a local, medium-sized concert hall in Copenhagen. It has good sound and atmosphere in my experience - and still room for pits to form. EDIT: Wow, how can such a discussion arise from a little mistake... That's actually pretty hilarious.
  16. Well, I wasn't really going for the huge, massive set. This was more akin to those intimate ones they did during the Psycho UK tour, which I would enjoy fairly more than a large arena show. If it was a stadium gig, then the switches I proposed could easily just be inserted into the setlist at fitting positions.
  17. Concert Hall: Amager Bio in Copenhagen Setlist: 1. Psycho 2. New Born 3. Futurism 4. Supermassive Black Hole 5. Interlude 6. Hysteria 7. Dead Star 8. Stockholm Syndrome (Micro Cuts outro) 9. Assassin (Grand Omega Bosses) 10. The Groove 11. Citizen Erased 12. Knights of Cydonia Encore: 13. The Small Print 14. Liquid State 15. Survival Possible switches: TG -> Bliss KoC -> The Globalist SBH -> Unnatural Selection
  18. I feel the same about the first choruses but the last one kicks a bit more butt - the extra guitar and bass-drum pedal really helps it along well. Reapers is absolutely my favorite from the album thus far but expect The Globalist to be up there as well!
  19. Love Reapers so far... Almost everything is just pure excellence. One of the few things that puts me off is Dom's drumming. I don't know if many have felt the same but I feel like the drumming on this track is very far from what we've seen Dom do before. The verse is sort of weird with no bass drum on the on-beats and the pattern during the riff and "drones!" parts along with the solo just feel a bit bland and empty. The last chorus is fine but the first and second could do with a bit more diversity and power I feel... I think Mutt Lange perhaps went a bit overboard with the AC-DC style on the drums... As a metal-fan I like my drums how I like my women - voluminous. Otherwise, this song is probably going to be one of my favorites... Calling it...
