  1. It's a bit like Starlight mixed with NSC plus some Bliss wibbly noises in the chorus. And Bono vocals again. To my ears this is boring. This along with Dead Inside has killed all the excitement Psycho and the tour gave me. Same old Muse we've had for nearly ten years. I can't even feel annoyance now, just apathy.
  2. Hi, I wrote a review of last week's show. Feel free to check it out if you so wish. Spoiler: I was very impressed https://yekimmikey.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/the-dronecoming-muse-exeter-great-hall-live-review/
  3. Doesn't sound like Queen? Apart from the bit that sounds like Radio Gaga. And the bit that goes "DEAD INSIIIIDE". Doesn't sound like U2? Other than the soft rock by numbers of the second half with over earnest vocals? I'd be interested to know what you think of Big Freeze
  4. I did an ickle live review of the gig https://yekimmikey.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/the-dronecoming-muse-exeter-great-hall-live-review/
  5. My opinion hasn't changed since last night, I'm less annoyed just more... meh. Also, what is it with people claiming that people who only want rockier songs just want them to keep doing stuff like OOS & Absolution? Firstly, I don't expect or want them to do rock all the time, I'd just rather they quit trying to be Queen and U2. They could have gone in many directions ten years ago but they chose this. Secondly, are you forgetting that Absolution is hardly an all out rock monster? Sing For Absolution, Falling Away, Blackout, TOADA, Endlessy, Ruled by Secrecy..
  6. Well, not what I was expecting, that can be a good thing but not in this case. I was going with it at the first verse and the ace guitar after that (where did that go for the rest of the song?!) but it just limped on and fizzled out. Immediate thoughts were that it's just Undisclosed Desires meets Guiding Light. And U2. And Queen. Which we've had all too often before. Personally, I'm fed up of that stuff. I'm not gonna get all dramatic and say the album will be a disaster now but after the momentum of this tour and all the kicking ass going on, it's just a major... buzzkill. They are so much better than this. It's frustrating
  7. Great. I avoided spoilers until the very day
  8. CANNOT believe it's a day until Muse in a small ish venue. MAD. Two friends got tickets on Musebay too so amazingly the four of us that wanted to go have managed to get tickets - stressful though it's been! Don't give up hope if you haven't managed to yet, keep trying, late chances will surface I'm sure. I know nothing about Marmozets, only heard their name before so I'll just go in not knowing and may be pleasantly surprised!
  9. I caved in a few days ago and watched on youtube but staying away from setlist spoilers ahead of Friday's gig. Interesting to see Reapers being picked apart so much from some dodgy recordings. I love the guitar widdlyness (technical term) and the verse. Not so keen on the chorus but I have literally listened once. Will be interesting to find out if the Back In Black bit is on the album. Definitely a lot of classic rock leanings here which isn't really my thing but I don't care if it means Muse have some OOOMPH again For me, the two songs so far have been more exciting than anything on the last two albums so I'm all for it.
  10. Hello all. Had another username years ago but totally forgotten log in details so this is post number one! Anyway, I have to admit I've been a bit grumpy with Muse for the last six years but this gig has certainly made my pulse race for them again! BRING IT ON!
