My Dad works at Musetendo and the secret surprise is a bonus album called Superdrones where every track is longer than The Globalist and Dom sings on a track.
-
Some guy is coming at me on Reddit saying that if I have insider info, my two options should be to "keep it to myself and not be a dick" or to "reveal your sources". Sometimes it makes me wonder why I even bother with the Muse subreddit if people correlate asserting legit info with being a dick, it's not like people simply list their sources for random people not meant to know to fact check that kind info to their contentment.
Well what are your sources?

I just tweeted the band too about it. I might do it a few times over the next few days.
Here's a quick list of handles you can copy paste:
@muse @mattbellamy @dominic_howard @CTWolstenholme @Nowherethomas
(edit: there may be other people like the touring manager who I cant remember the name of)
And here's the link about the Brazil prices:

Goddamn I'm excited for Handler, Aftermath, Globalist and Defector.
I'm not even worried about Revolt. I think it will be the Explorers or Save Me of the album for me: Nothing mind-blowing but I still enjoy it every time it comes on.
-
I guess I figured the "fool me 2 times, can't possibly be a third can it" got me hard with this album. You can blame it on unrealistic expectations if you must but really they stuck with that "raw rock album" promise FAR later into this album cycle than they have in the past. Usually it's a brief mention very early one time and then nothing after that. This one went pretty deep especially with Psycho launching first featuring an ancient Muse riff.
Look mate, do you want some frenchcries to go with your waaaaaamburger?
-
Slow and pachidermic drums, a massive riff and a middle-part where Matt breaks out in tapping solo reminishing of Angus Young (reminishing of "Flight of The Bumblebee", somehow, for the Italian review).
That sounds so great

Question: If Muse hadn't played Reapers live yet, based on the descriptions in all these reviews would you be excited for it? What kind of song would you be expecting?
-
Oh man, so I'm in the chatroom now and it shows the chatlog from the previous few hours.
rainer219, whoever you are here, you said you go to AIM. Do you know a girl named Micky?
-
Anyone else noticed that the track times have been taken off that Tower Records site?
I still see them.
-
Crazy how we go from a barrage of new interviews and reviews in the last few days to this deafening silence...
-
So this would bring the total time to 50:40
I got 52:40
-
The lengths are on Musewiki, check the songs pages
Those are fake

That's exactly what I was thinking about at the moment! That The Globalist has pretty much the length of 3 songs.
So, maybe it's not too bad. Hope that it's 12 minutes though.
I'm leaning towards the italian track-by-track implying that Globalist+Drones together is 13 minutes, but I think Drones will be short so I reckon Globalist will be around 11 minutes itself. Which is more than enough to satisfy me
What do people predict to be the entire album length? I was trying to think of the most realistic lengths of songs (just conjecture, but I don't think Defector/Revolt/Aftermath will be more than 4-5 mintues each, but I do think Reapers will be the full 6 minutes with the outro). I added them up, and I got ~51 minutes. Not as long as the last couple of albums, but longer than BHaR.
-
I didn't want Drones to be a really short track. No wonder they said nothing about it in the interviews.
Yeah that really only makes it 9 proper songs and 3 interstitial sort of pieces for this album...
But at least we have The Globalist which, at pretty much almost the length of Exogenesis, and being in parts, is the equivalent of three songs.
-
To get back (sort of) on topic, I'm quite disappointed (not sure if that's the right word actually) that we've heard so much of this album already, and still 3 weeks to go until the release date. Don't get me wrong, I'd be pulling my hair out now if we still hadn't heard anything by now, and I could hardly have avoided the 3 officially released songs anyway (or Reapers for that matter, seeing as I was at the Newport gig). And yes, I know, I know, it's my fault for being weak and chasing down the Globalist/Defector Making of leak, but I can't help myself, I just like Muse too much not to listen to what's out there.
But a part of me would just like the album released without warning and without previews/reviews. Imagine how incredible that would be, to be able to listen to the songs for the first time without any prejudice. That would really excite me. I'm a bit of a U2 fan too, so the release of Songs of Innocence came as a huge shock and I really enjoyed listening to all those new songs afresh.
And yes, before anyone says it, I know I'm weak and it's my own fault. I'm just thinking out loud here.
I agree, I'd love to wake up one day and a new album has just been put up on iTunes etc with no warning, and the fandom is going crazy and nobody knew Muse had even recorded anything new until that moment.

Oh it's the NME article: http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?t=94311

“You kill by remote control, the world is on your side, you’ve got the CIA, babe, now I am radicalized."
Reapers, the song about drones and babes, everyone.
Hahaha is that the confirmed chorus? Where did you get that from?
-
with official i now meant confirmed aka the songs actually released. Still think the fact that it was taken down as more probable for it being legit than anything, unless of course the guy explicitly said he made it all up.
Do i have to post this a third time???

German review: http://www.musikexpress.de/reviews/alben/article732838/muse-drones.html
It's pretty incomprehensible through Google translate :\

Missa Papae Marcelli is a mass which features a kyrie, a prayer set to music that repeats "Kyrie eleison", which translates to "Lord have mercy!"

Holy shit the title track is a William Byrd cover? Matt you're going places
This is really fucking weird, the article says Pierluigi da Palestrina in Italian but when you translate it with Google into English it changes to William Byrd. WTF?
-
I never want Muse to be a metal band. That would be excruciatingly bad.
