    Cydonian Knight

This is a short story heavily inspired by 'Knights of Cydonia.' https://www.booksie.com/559304-cydonian-knight
  3. Thought Contagion Getting rife, getting out of hand, spreading out across the land; these thoughts, outrageous, but so contagious. Just one bite, all it takes, for a zombie it does make. Hunger for power, spreading what’s false, roaming the streets, taking it’s course. Thought contagion manipulation, mental confusion, instigation. No escape, no where to go revolution won’t overthrow; false beliefs now running through the heads of them, the minds of you. Bitten by that true believer, really no more than a deceiver. One solution, all that’s left to eradicate the total mess of that madness... THOUGHT CONTAGION! 4. Well, 17 went over the five days. I don't know if any of you guys got hold of one but if so I'd really love some feedback. I've started the next one, provisionally titled 'Target' but I've still got a long way to go.
  5. Fantatic art work. Really love the way you include words with the pics.
  6. I have self published an e-book novella on Amazon Kindle, called Dekka 2. Normally it costs 99p but it is on free promotion 11/6 up to and including 15/6 if anyone is interested in reading it for nothing. Initially it was inspired by my first two listens of 'Psycho' but developed further with the release of 'Dead Inside' and became approx 37,500 words long. This is the first time I have written anything this length and would love to get some sort of feed back. My pen name, Liz Devlin, is derived from my mother's name - just thought it sounvded better than my real one. I've read that writing threads do not tend to get a lot of interest on here but I'm giving it a go anyway. I'd really like some response as I've another planned, inspired by 'Reapers' and 'The Handler'. Here's a link to the book. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dekka-2-Liz-Devlin-ebook/dp/B00YN8ULBI/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1434023253&sr=1-1&keywords=dekka+2 As I said before it is completly free from today until monday. You can read this on a kindle, or any computer/mobile with the kindle application, downloadable from amazon.

    Defector

I wasn't too keen on 'Defector' when I first heard it. I gave it 6/10 in my album rating. But it's one of those songs that stick in your head, and after a good few more listens I'd have to increase that to 8/10. So it is a bit poppy, Queen-like, whatever..... It's definitely stuck in my head. And the lyric video, looks like the fun Matt of a while ago.
  8. I really love this album. Maybe not the best ever by Muse, but certainly not the worst. Dead Inside: really strong bass and drums. Great lyrics - I don't get the criticism there at all. 9/10. Drill Sergeant/Psycho: loved this track since the first time I heard it. Matt, Chris and Dom seem to enjoy it as much as I do. Pretty serious lyrics if you just listen. 10/10. Mercy: Definite similarities to 'Starlight'. A bit Queen-like in the chorus for my taste. Not my favourite. 7/10. Reapers: great guitar and drums on the intro. Great bass by Chris, especially around the middle of the track, and those vocals.........'Here come the Drones'. 9/10. The Handler: Really catchy right from the start. The bass is superb, as are Matt's vocals. Reminds me a bit of 'In Your World'. Probably my favourite at the moment. 10/10. JFK/Defector: Not my favourite. Don't know why but it just doesn't seem like Muse to me. A little bit repetitive. 6/10. Revolt: Varied tempo - slow for verse, faster for chorus. Without Matt's distinctive falsetto vocals it could well be U2. 6/10. Aftermath: I like the slow tracks that Muse do. Matt's voice comes over really strong and emotive. The 'Explorerers' track of the album. 7/10. The Globalist: the whistling at the start reminds me of the harmonica in 'Knights of Cydonia' - love it. Dom's drumming is fantastic and Matt's voice again is really strong. The military influence of the album comes out about half way through this track when the tempo picks up, then Matt's piano slows things down again. 10/10. Drones; now this track was a surprise. It's certainly different for Muse to perform an acapella track - is it just Matt doing the vocals or what? I always thought a big part of Muse was their experimentation with musical styles so why not this! A really suitable track to end the album with. 7/10 for the song, another 2/10 for having the guts to release it....9/10. I think 'Drones' is a great concept album that doesn't lose its plot at all - just listen to the lyrics. Great variation in tracks and styles.....9/10 overall.
