  1. I have to say this is a definite improvement on that abominable "Psycho" which I will never listen to again, ever in my life.
  2. IMHO the last good lyric Matt wrote was "Hoodoo" and that's 9 years ago. Â Then I put on "Shine" from 2001 and I can't believe how good a songwriter Matt once was.
  3. It's like a bunch of the 1st half OoS songs are designed to segue into each other with the distorted outro/intros. The first 7 songs are like the movements of a rock symphony.
  4. I find it amazing that the young Bellamy was capable of writing such imaginative and deep music and the older Bellamy is basically writing political cock rock and cheesy love songs. Isn't it usually the other way around? Even you take the political songs he started doing on "Absolution", they're a million times better than what he's been putting out the last 2-3 albums.
  5. I guess something good came of splitting up with Kate Hudson. *DUCKS* Also love videos with nekkid.
  6. Yet another derivative 80s-sounding song(Depeche Mode again?) with cringe inducing lyrics. However the last "climatic" part is nice enough to save it.
  7. Yes I know, I read the '09 bio. But it still doesn't change the fact that the music from 99-03 had an urgency and organic quality that BH&R+ hasn't had. I hardly care about what their motivations where in that period, the music is great.
  8. Except Drones is going to be one thick slab of Matt's political derangement. Probably something akin to Roger Water's "The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking". That went over well?
  9. Showbiz was raw but good. Muse peaked on the next 2 albums with fresh sounds. I tell you when I first heard Stockholm Syndrome, it melted my face. CE blew my mind. Mind you, I had not listened to Paranoid Android before this song so I didn't have that coloring my perception. I still feel that albums 2 and 3 represent the creative, striving peak of Muse and everything else has been trying to be "rock stars". Also I feel that the album 7 related threads are dominated by teens and early 20-somethings that prefer the new style and ridicule the older Musers who prefer the older style.
  10. I just find it weird that Muse as a band was making more innovative sounding music early in the career compared to the last 2 albums where they've been aping their favorite bands. Usually a band keeps evolving and innovating. Honestly the only 2 songs on the last 2 albums that feels like moving forward were Exogensis & Animals(the 5/4 signature).
  11. Against my better judgement I bought the last 2 albums. It was all in the interest of being "open minded" to Muse's new direction. But it's clearly they're more in the One Direction.
  12. So I'm supposed to love this turd of a song by the same band that I fell in love with because of Absolution and OoS? At least when Radiohead changed direction after OKC with Kid A, it was a brilliant masterpiece and innovative. There is nothing innovative about Psycho and nothing brilliant. It's just different for it's own sake.
