  1. It's taken you until to realise that I am the author and architect of your dreams, James? I'm considering getting a big ass #dombow take out and freeze-flying it over to you.
  2. Absolutely the same with me, I won't forget the QoTSA gig I was at. Totally class. Also, 64 channel midi controlled valve amp? I wouldn't even begin to know where to start
  3. This is something I had to try and explain to my flat mates also. Rocking up for semester 2 with a 30 watt Vox 2x12 was not a popular choice for me. But then I turned it on and they forgave me. Emphasis on dog, there. I was just thinking of a way you may have pissed off your postie. Making him lug 30kg worth of amps and guitars from his van every odd week maybe? I'm just saying don't rule out sabotage.
  4. Agitated is the word. Stop pissing about, Joshua. Edit: eep, sorry james. Would have chosen my wording more carefully had I seen your post.
  5. I think I know that amp tech actually, he replaced the spark plugs in my '74 Corvette in return for a keg of my home-brewed root beer. Great guy but a little unhinged. Well you're right of course, we'll forever discuss and wonder over bands' gear because it's fun. It's the things that make no difference and are still inexplicably obsessed over that get on my nerves. Congrats, you've found that elusive and mysterious tone after many years of fruitless conquest, who'd have thought that draping a towel over the amp would get that "distressed" sound you wanted? Now away to Bert's Bar and plug it all in to the £100 PA system for your first gig.
  6. That's the thing James. They can't tell the difference. In fact the difference, if there is one, is as much down to the random changes in sounds from one model to another as it is their spanky new £50 gold plated diamond encrusted patch cable. As much as I like finding new sounds and going after certain tones to satisfy a few cravings, I'm a firm believer in the "just write a fucking song" camp. If it's any good, the chumps in the crowd moshing to it aren't going to care what gauge your strings are. Edit: Those are some cheap ass diamonds..
  7. I've had to accept a return for mine. Apparently there are problems with the connections in the input/output ports. It was tested before sending and seemed fine so I'm trying to claim for some compensation from the postage service. How the fuck do you get rid of these things?
  8. Yeah I had the same trouble with CoalC-3, you could get away with some chords on the high strings but anything more than one note progressions lower down sounded like a pack of bears throwing rocks at each other.
  9. I was thinking it may be worth contacting the forum craft kings I had no idea they did sign writing as well so that sounds a great path to take. Also, many balls rolling for me at the moment, may have some interesting arrivals within the next few days
  10. I imagine you may be hard pushed in the UK to find many established companies that will do made-to-order nameplates for amps specifically. But wouldn't you be able to get something from a general purpose engraver/cutter? I don't have a name to drop unfortunately but it may be easier to go for a more general search and ask for exact requirements when it comes to order?
  11. Some chap down in London. I feel bad. I feel I need to put some sweets or lollies in the package or something. Did he really just want the coal!?
