  1. I'm getting a little bit tired of all of this Arctic Monkeys arse-kissing from NME; it reminds me a bit of their Strokes obsession in 2000. Not sure their (admittedly quite good) headline set at Glasto was a genuine Musical Moment of the Year or whatever they call it, and I don't get why AT is up for hero of the year. The album was good and Do I Wanna Know is a great song but I think they overhyped and overrated AM a bit - it's not a classic. I still think they'll win both best band and best album though; both those categories are the weakest I've seen in a while. Don't even get me started on the Muse nominations though. Most of them make no sense.
  2. Something like what a Rock am Ring//Rock Werchter/Rock im Park/La Rising setlist should really consist of: 1. What’s He Building In There + Dead Star 2. Agitated 3. Yes Please 4. The Groove 5. Map of the Problematique (03050.. outro) 6. The Small Print 7. Assassin 8. Butterflies and Hurricanes 9. Supremacy 10. Citizen Erased 11. Apocalypse Please 12. United States of Eurasia/Sunburn 13. Space Dementia (guitar outro) 14. Showbiz 15. Hyper Chondriac Music 16. The 2nd Law: Unsustainable 17. Hysteria 18. Knights of Cydonia 19. Unnatural Selection 20. Micro Cuts 21. Stockholm Syndrome + 10 riffs 22. Take a Bow (+ optional Exo 1+2+3 in here maybe) 23. Prelude 24. Survival (with loads and loads of pyro) They probably wouldn't make it to the second encore but hey
  3. Just listened to/watched the entire ACL 2013 gig again (the proshot one) and I have to say it's defo one of my favourites of the tour. The setlist isn't particularly amazing (although no FG, Explorers or GL is a good thing) but performance-wise it's fantastic, they look like they're having so much fun. Uns, Supremacy, Map, PiB and Stockholm all sound so heavy and powerful.
  4. An arena gig 1. Knights of Cydonia 2. Supermassive Black Hole 3. Assassin 4. Agitated 5. Bliss (ext.) 6. Map of the Problematique 7. City of Delusion 8. Butterflies and Hurricanes 9. Sing for Absolution 10. Plug in Baby 11. Eternally Missed 12. Hate This and I’ll Love You 13. Citizen Erased 14. Ruled by Secrecy 15. Exogenesis 3 16. New Born + Headup 17. MK Ultra 18. Yes Please 19. Dead Star + riffage 20. Hyper Chondriac Music 21. Showbiz (Bataclan-style ext. intro) 22. Blackout 23. Stockholm Syndrome
  5. Any gig in space would be a very fitting location to play Glorious. One can dream..
  6. I'm not too bothered about the pro-shot of that performance, this video has always sufficed for me: Nice 1080p etc. Having said that I do think it is the best performance of the song... there's something about the way he used to sing the "Su" bit in "Supremacy" in that version that I especially like (or maybe I'm just associating it with the thrill I got the first time I heard it ). Also he holds most of the notes for longer than he does now.
  7. The "forgeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetyouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" in that last chorus still gets me every time, I'm always slightly disappointed whenever he sings it the normal way (i.e. every single other performance)
  8. RBS @ Glasgow 2012 Futurism @ Zepp 2013 DMG @ Washington/College Park 2005 Glorious @ Earl's Court 2004 Fury @ Orleans Zenith, 2004
  9. What proshot live footage/audio people want might not be a bad subject for a thread, actually (though it is kinda tied up with the "what do people want for christmas presents" stuff...)
  10. If you're right then I think the picture on page 8 (with the Origin book and the rainbow thing in front of it) is a reference to Futurism, which was originally called spectrum when it was played live.. Perhaps this is his/her roundabout way of presenting his/her perfect muse setlist?
  11. I really hope not . Until I saw that twitter account I was fairly sure it was legit... Also, what have those Muse CDs and vinyls done to deserve the treatment they got in those videos? Most of them have been drowned, had bits of cardboard stuck through them or been attacked with a blowtorch... It all seems like a bit too much effort for nothing (although drugs would provide a good explanation for everything) If this really is a Lord Kelvin-esque thread then we need RTZ to come back and give us some more hints but it doesn't look like that's going to happen
  12. is the vinyl in this vid a real vinyl that they've already released? (at 24 seconds) I don't recognise the central bit with the tracklist on it.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFuykmhRY2w&feature=youtu.be
  13. I sometimes wish I were a fan of a band whose members, friends and crew weren't so darn clever... I also think it's fair to say the Hysteria vid is not the only thing we're getting this Christmas
  14. as setlists go, that is pretty awesome Edit: referring to Tjet's comment from y'day... I read page 1 as page 2, sorry
