  1. Yeah, I saw it at Washington, D.C.'s Verizon Center, where the setlist was kind of all over the place*, but it seemed to fit before we got KoC. *Not that I mind this, of course. It meant that we got Citizen Erased out of it.
  2. Fair enough. I mean, a lot of them are just Matt fiddling around on his guitar's effects pad or pedal (Invincible, Supermassive Black Hole), or him just repeating the same eight-bar phrase over and over again (Uprising), or him just playing an ascending scale (Psycho). Then again, this solo in particular reminds me of a lot of great classic rock solos--I'm thinking AC/DC in particular--so it gets a thumbs-up from me. Hey, have you seen what happens when you get too controversial? You have an entire website turning against you and collectively calling you racist. I would rather this discussion not get into that territory.
  3. I'm trying to do something like that with Drones, complete with video accompaniment, but my program is glitching out.
  4. How to meme-ify Muse: The entire Drones album but every time it says "you," it gets 5% faster.
  5. Well, okay, but the fact that there is a large group of people who still believe that Muse is a Radiohead ripoff makes me lose some hope for the world.
  6. Actually, now that I think about it, weren't even their first albums hated because people (read: idiots) thought they were a ripoff of Radiohead?
  7. I know that comparing Muse to Queen is a little overdone now, but if Freddie Mercury was able to rock the fully-packed Wembley Stadium while spending half of his set behind a piano, then shouldn't Matt be able to do the same? And no, Matt is obviously no Freddie Mercury, but still, it can't be that hard.
  8. Yes. It always bugs me how little piano Matt plays in concerts anymore. He usually uses it for maybe two or two-and-a-half songs. In Hullabaloo, he used it for six; hell, on Absolution Tour, he technically used it on seven. Come on, Matt, don't completely abandon it as an instrument!
  9. Uprising. Heard it on the radio, really enjoyed it, and checked out The Resistance. (Don't hate me.)
  10. Do you think Matt has back problems? He has been retiring a lot of "heavy" guitars recently. That would also explain why he's taken to not playing guitar on a lot of songs.
  11. Not because of Muse, silly. (Also, they aren't bad.) My mom lost her job and my dad is in danger of losing his. They both had a huge argument last night and they were yelling within feet of my ears. Due to me having hypersensitive hearing, which means that loud or discordant noises are amplified for me, so my ears have been ringing since. Oh yeah, and both threatened to kill themselves at separate times, which makes me wonder if I was the cause of any of this and if I should do the same.
  12. Soooo... what am I supposed to get out of this, then? The album is bad and my opinion that it's good is objectively wrong just because you guys don't personally enjoy it like I do? Is that what I'm supposed to take from this?
