  1. I just read the review...he was pretty spot on about the size of the crowd, though, as someone posted above, the crowd was 8,000 tickets sold. That's still a decent crowd. I think if the stage was a traditional end stage setup, it would have appeared more crowded. I don't know if the concert being in Glendale versus downtown Phoenix had anything to do with it. I hope not, I love the Glendale Arena for concerts. For what it's worth, I was as that Peter Gabriel concert mentioned by the reviewer in December 2002. I think there was at most 4,000 people in attendance. But it was just as good as the Muse show was.
  2. I didn't know those two have been with the band for so long... Having seen the Phoenix show last night, I can see now how tearing down the stage, transporting it, rebuilding it, programming the drones and perfecting the sound levels in less than 24 hours is highly ambitious. Luckily, the Phoenix show went off perfectly....too bad they had to postpone tonight's Vegas show. Jason
  3. Are you referring to the silhouette screens that drop down and project videos for some of the songs? It's possible that they may block in the upper levels. It's more likely that if you had a seat on either stage end, either upper or lower, that you wouldn't get the full effect of those screen.
  4. Last night was fantastic! Despite the smaller crowd, 8,000 per the person above, we were very loud. I was impressed by that because sometimes Phoenix crowds can be on the quieter side compared to other cities. Anyways, during the show I kept thinking to myself that this is one of the most impressive tour designs ever. Muse and company have elevated the bar for everyone else. They've thought of everything. The 'Drones' were very cool. Sound was great. No glitches that I could see. I wish the stage lighting was a little bit brighter, but that is a very, very small detail. Performance wise, the new songs sound so much better live than the record, particularly 'Mercy', 'Psycho', 'Handler' and 'Reapers'. The song selection of the older material was great, too. Nice to see that they're already mixing those up. 'Apocalypse Please' was a cool surprise. If people have friends on the fence about going to this tour, do whatever you can to get them to go. I guarantee they will get their money's worth and more. -Jason
  5. http://www.gigwise.com/news/102859/muse-world-tour-stage-details-interview-double-headed-arrow-drones The above link shows who the production design company and tour director are for the Drones tour. Production designer Oli Metcalfe Tour director Glen Rowe From the press release for the postponements, those are who people show have issue with. It's a bad look for the designer and director if you promise something to the band and cannot deliver. Muse shares some of the blame, they hired them, but not much.
  6. The ticket says show starts at 8pm, so best educated guess says doors open at 6:30pm or 7:00pm. Jason
  7. Sorry that the band postponed the Vegas show for those who had tickets, but I don't think a band like Muse would make up a reason do to poor ticket sales. Otherwise, the Phoenix show would be 'postponed'.
  8. I wonder if any of the tech problems happenedbecause they played in Houston the night before, and thus had little time to allocate for any difficulties transporting and setting up stage and sound. It's still not a good excuse, but it would be a valid reason. Hopefully the band and production team get all the stuff worked out. It's a very ambitious tour, and I'm excited for the Phoenix show this Saturday. Jason
  9. If those VIP seats aren't sold, Ticketmaster will probably just wind up selling them for regular price. It might not happen until a few days before show date.
  10. I'm glad it's at the Gila River Arena in Glendale instead of downtown Phoenix. It's much further for me personally, but the Glendale Arena has way better sight lines and acoustics overall compared to the downtown Phoenix arena. Traffic shouldn't be as bad as the Ak Chin Pavillion lots... at least there's stuff to do around the Glendale Arena before and after the show.
