Haha I'm building up a bike for riding the MTB trails up by the uni... Plus it was an excuse to build another bike... Definitely go the red tolex/black grill route! Their new Namm releases look great! Have you seen the Kliptonite? Pretty cool looking fuzz/overdrive Also they've made a successor to the PDF-1, the new one has a gain control plus an extra footswitch for clean/overdrive

I have a problem... I've also somehow managed to avoid noise complaints, got the Blues junior set at sort of bedroom noise level, although I can't turn it up past 2, that's when I'll start pissing people off in the flat next door Sounds great

Also the new amp hunt has been put on hold because like usual, as soon as I start saving money for the DSL fund, I end up spending it all on mountain bike parts... Although my flatmates were happy to hear the news that I didn't turn up this year with a Marshall and a 2x12

Sounds great, apparently Dean Fertita's playing guitar, and that Troy Van Leeuwen will also be joining them for the live shows? This is just getting me even more agitated about new QOTSA stuff

Yeh it does, I tried it with my Boss fv500 before I sold it but it didn't work, maybe it only works with the actual Stone Deaf one?

Haven't heard anything yet, I know Homme dropped a "new" song at that acoustic session he did earlier this year... Such a great video, haven't watched it in ages. Must admit I'm using that bending the note then finger-tapping thing quite a bit now

I think you need to combat Mansons calander with the "James90 Collection" Although I think it might need to be a 10 year calender... don't think your guitar collection will fit on 12 pages Tried to get tickets for the Brighton gig with Marmozets opening, completely missed out getting them online, and then the online ticket sites were selling them for crazy money I proceeded to lose my shit when Dead Star came on at Emirates, got a lot of funny looks Yes! The Freedom outro is definitely my favourite I saw Stockholm with the Township outro at Werchter, so now its just MOTP I've got to tick off! I'm going to try and get some tickets for one of the O2 dates next year

Do I dare ask how many amps you have actually owned? I really wanted to go to the Psycho tour but missed out getting tickets on the release date and then couldn't afford the ridiculous price some of the online ticket sites were charging for them! Emirates all happened so fast, it was in the middle of my exam season at school, and I only managed to get the tickets two days before the actual concert, so it was all a bit rushed My reaction to Dead Star was pretty incredible I was gutted about the 2nd night getting MOP and Stockholm, but otherwise the first night was an incredible concert!

Looks great! Although I don't really know what to look for in them... But that price really doesn't seem too crazy, although import fees/shipping could probably add up Edit: This could be useful, gives a good price guide on them https://reverb.com/price-guide/guide/8751-silvertone-1484-head-1963-grey Definitely! Was such a great week!

It's way harder than I thought it would be to rank concerts 1) Muse - Rock Werchter 2015 I completely lost my shit when Citizen Erased appeared out of nowhere, Stockholm Syndrome was incredible with the Township riff at the end. Plus Mercy was so great live with the whole stage show (didn't care for the album version at all beforehand). Plus the festival itself was such a great week! 2) Soundgarden - BST Festival 2014 Played the whole of the Superunknown album from start to finish, one of my all time favourite albums! 3) Muse - Emirates Stadium 2013 First Muse concert, got Deadstar which at the time was my all time favourite song (hence username ), really great show! 4) Black Sabbath - BST Festival 2014 What else is there to say, its fucking Black Sabbath. 5) Alice in Chains - Alexandra Palace 2014 Amazing concert, the song Rooster blew my mind. 6) Prodigy - Rock Werchter 2015 Most insane mosh pits I've ever been in, crazy stage presence and a great night! The pedal does seem pretty great, but I agree £150 is pretty steep, there's a Catalinbread SFT pedal that emulates the old Ampegs but again for a few hundred more you can get the real deal! I also did a bit of snooping on the prices of the Silvertone heads, would be great to find one cheap, but they seem pretty hard to find in the UK... Edit: Buy it... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-1966-Sears-Silvertone-1484-Guitar-Head-Worldwide-Ship-/262179064215?hash=item3d0b170997:g:gGEAAOSw7FRWZNWp

The ones I've found for reasonable money have all been from around 2002-2006, I'll keep looking out for a 2004-2009 one, the prospect of possible main board issues, sounds expensive The double-cut shape of the GP and the contours on the back, put them above Les Paul's for me I've just found that tweet, would be great if they did a reissue of the GP, but I can imagine they'd price them extremely high, due to the exploding prices of the originals It's definitely the closest I've heard! Would be great to hear it through the VT40! This is a scary prospect Check out this - http://www.andertons.co.uk/compact-pedals/pid36491/cid692/jhs-pedals-twin-twelve-drive-pedal.asp?LGWCODE=36491;56375;6335&gclid=Cj0KEQiAqK-zBRC2zaXc8MOiwfIBEiQAXPHrXrLIZIog7fnhWX4KEuRaM1-mGmsAX75gffLfdXKOSZEaArRV8P8HAQ It's meant to give you the tone of those vintage Silvertone head's that White uses! One of those, a whammy and a big muff would definitely put you in the right direction!

I think I'll stick to looking locally, I've found some decent deals on some DSL50's fairly locally, around the £280-400 price range, does that sound about right? If I could I would just grab that V4 currently on Ebay, just bad timing... I read somewhere that the Ovation's were actually more expensive than some of the "real" Gibson Les pauls they were essentially copying? Probably didn't help with the sales Yeh I've read some mixed reviews of the Eastwood "GP", some say there great, whilst others don't rate them at all... Nailed the sound, just needs to be redone with the VT-40!

If I was to get a V4 I would definitely have to run an attenuator, I think the VT40 would be great if only I could find one I've seen a few on Reverb.com but I'm not to keen on the idea of shipping a 70s amplifier Plus fees would be ridiculous Haha they do look great though! Do you think part of the crazy prices are due to (aside from Homme) the limited numbers that were made? I'll keep my eye out for the real deal then, I missed out on a black ultimate octave a few months ago that went for £90 on Gumtree... Do you think that the Dimarzio Super 2's (I think thats what they are) play a major part then? Could always put a set of those in one of those Eastwood copies? That sounds insane!

I wish it was Don't have the money right now, when I'm back home from Uni I'll be putting the blues junior for sale. I'm pretty split between the two, I know 40s and 22s seem impossible to find over here but the V4's turn up every now and again like that one on ebay. Whereas the DSL50s are pretty common. The only other thing is that V4's are apparently incredibly loud so that is definitely going to limit where I can actually turn it up However I did recently find out that the Uni's got a band rehearsal space which me and my flatmates where thinking of checking out. Jealousy is extremely strong right now Those Ovation's are going for crazy money! (especially yours with it's authentic desert rock mojo ) I was thinking of getting one of those cheap Joyo Voodoo Octaves because there's apparently an easy mod (flipping a capacitor I think?) which apparently makes it a direct clone of the Fulltone?

Doesn't seem too bad then, aside from the valves. I'm pretty much focused on either a DSL50 or one of the old Ampegs, problem is that I haven't seen any of them for sale in the UK since that V4 I saw earlier this year... Thats why I started looking at the GVT series (still a bastard to find for sale at a good price), which seemed to have some great reviews, but don't really know how they sound compared to the old Ampegs? edit: Just as I say that I find one... Looks like I need to start getting some cash together http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ampeg-V4-Valve-Head-/201478803367?hash=item2ee9128fa7:g:KOoAAOSwp5JWYZt-
