  1. Very much agree with this sentiment. If you listen to the bootlegs between 1999 and 2002, there's an incredible variety in how songs were played and ad libing sections of songs was common. The slide towards replicating the sound of the album live started in 2003 with absolution (more synth tracks than OoS or Showbiz) and pretty much crystallised by the Resistance era. Since, there's been little joy in listening to the live versions unless the gig was particularly good.
  2. Question, are the drums programmed or are they live? Sounds a bit hollow to me?
  3. I agree the studio version is oversaturated with layers. The synth tracks are overbearing and the weird volume shifts of the guitar track make an appearance again. Folk should also check out the nova rocks version, it's very clean as the audience isn't miked.
  4. It's taken from a TikTok stream so I imagine there's an extra layer of compression there. I'll reserve judgment until next week but hope to God the mixing isn't the shitshow that Won't Stand Down is.
  5. Confirmed on Twitter, Kill or be Killed will be released July 21st.

  7. About a week ago, Matt said it would be released in a couple weeks so I would presume at most 14 days from now.
  8. Keep going, don't believe Sold Out until at least half an hour past.
  9. Looking forward to seeing Uprising dropped from the set then....
  10. Don't worry 2020 Silent God, a single copy will magically appear on and Irish retailer's site in June 2022 for roughly the original price and is not damaged in significant way. Never stop believing!
  11. Really weird sound without the crowd mike. Creepily clean as if it was a soundcheck.
  12. (Cheat number 1: Dead Star) 1. Sunburn 2. Take a Bow 3. Apocalypse Now 4. New Born 5. Algorithm 6. Uprising 7. Dead Inside 8. Supremacy (Really should have been Unsustainable) 9. WOTP
  13. Simulation Theory's audio and visual design is pretty much Stranger Things. (To the point where they got Stranger Things poster artist to make the album cover) Anyone want to pitch in and get Matt an Apple Plus account? Wouldn't mind a track or two about For All Mankind or Mythic Quest.
  14. Probably got locked out of his account when the forum upgraded.
  15. From experience, Compliance was completely flat and had no audience reaction beyond the first few rows.
  16. This is the kind of Muse song you can introduce to your friends and family without fear. It also has me fearing that the studio version won't be as good as a live version which is a clear sign of a winner.
  17. Thought Contagion is back? Christ alive....
  18. Does Matt have tats now? (They also seem to be aligned with his T-Shirt which is weird)
  19. Perhaps, maybe it would have been better if they used giant teddy bears again. I'm not trying paint Matt as one thing or another but if you're going use imagery of protesters violently breaking into government institutions and destroying them, maybe folk are going to be reminded of very recent examples of such things.
  20. Worth pointing out WOTP was written and recorded in 2021 before Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Maybe because the video is very reminiscent of the January 6th insurrection and seems to visualize those folk as the heroes and good guys hence Matt trying to deflect criticism with fictionalized doing some very heavy lifting. The lyric seems to be more nuanced (2nd verse seems to imply and trumpians view of themselves is wrong and somewhat ironic) but that video, oof, is at best, very very naive or ignorant of how folk would view it.
  21. From Matt: “‘Will of the People’ is fictional story set in a fictional metaverse on a fictional planet ruled by a fictional authoritarian state run by a fictional algorithm manifested by a fictional data centre running a fictional bank printing a fictional currency controlling a fictional population occupying a fictional city containing a fictional apartment where a fictional man woke up one day and thought ‘fuck this.’” Wonder why Matt is emphasising the fictional part ..,
