  1. Im not saying they aren't but as someone correctly stated on Instagram earlier, they've never made the same album twice yet they are routinely written off by Pitchfork each time. If you read the reviews, it makes you wonder if the guys themselves have made some slight at the publication in the past, such is their consistent, systematic dislike of the band. Your point about the Coachella snub only adds to this, that's just a bit weird imo.
  2. Question is why wouldn't Zane Lowe promote the fact he is premiering Muse's new single? Seems like no one gains from a secret release apart from the die hard fans. Then again they-who-must-not-be-named did it with their last album so I guess it can work.
  3. Oh my god the course I am on at university is full of people who write stuff like this. "that mortal moment when another human being, from another time, was immersed in the same pursuit to which I have devoted my life—to create images which not only fulfill potential, but transcend existence.' Fuuuuuuuck
  4. I wonder if "Another Brick in the Wall" was released today whether or not people would think the school children repeating the chorus in unison was cheesy. I understand it's not the same thing, but I think cheesy is the wrong word people are looking for personally
  5. With Madness it's almost the exact opposite for me, I can't stand the song when I hear it on T2L, but when a friend plays the live lounge version in his car, I find myself kind of appreciating the U2-esque ending haha
  6. With Muse I've always found that If I initially like any of the new songs from The Resistence era onward I always later come to the conclusion that they are awful really. I.e I loved Supremacy, Uprising, Follow Me on first listens, only to later realise that they were fairly average efforts by Muse's lofty standards. On the flipside, its the songs I have disliked/found boring after a first listen that have eventually grown on me and became some of my favourites eg. Animals, MK Ultra, Isolated System. Maybe this new effort will follow a similar trend, as I too have my doubts over the whole chanting thing, we can only wait and see.
  7. Or it was a harbinger of a tonally consistent album of which the hooligan shouting is an integral part and in no way cheesy when heard in it's magnificent entirety. ...Yeah me neither
  8. Except he literally agreed in an interview that he tried to write a sequel to Citizen Erased. Nobody is saying it's going to be called that, but since there isn't another name for it, i'm sure it will do for the moment.
  9. People got the idea from the tweet, but nobody knew if Matt was serious because he constantly makes claims online (probably with the best intentions) only to go back on them in the future. The 20th anniversary tour being an example. It was quite possible he could have been joking and indeed I must say I personally thought he was, but his comments in this interview appear to confirm it.
  10. Hmmm I wonder if Matt had done this German interview before or after he tweeted that person on twitter talking about playing "Citizen Erased II". If after, then we could still see it played live in the summer even if it doesn't make the album. If it really doesn't fit the album stylistically though, I would much rather hear it as a stand alone single at another date. Really don't want another genre mix and match like T2L.
  11. I agree he's gone in a different direction but for me it's the cleanest and most professional he's ever sounded live. His delivery of the Stockholm and Plug in Baby choruses are absolutely top notch these days.
  12. I can't be the only one who prefers the random and (apparently) non sensical lyrics of the OOS era than those of T2L era that supposedly do make sense but sound ridiculous... "Brainwashing our children to be mean".... Besides, I don't think Muse's lyrics are as poor as people suggest, not even close. I quite like ambiguous lyrics that could conceivably fit different scenarios.
  13. Some guy was posting in the comments of a Muse video on YT saying about how Muse fans often hype up the band more than any other set of fans do. I was about to post a rebuttal and then remembered the phrase "a real music game changer for humanity"...
