  1. Hope they won't play more than 4 song of the new album...

Think that'll only be the case for festivals. Stadiums will most likely get at least 6.

A quick look on setlist.fm says the first couple of 2nd Law stadium shows had 9 songs from that.

  2. @FatihA19

Nobody cares about Muse in Germany. None of the drones Shows were sold out.

Hamburg wasn't officially sold out, but only very few seats at the top of the arena were empty.

On another note: Nijmegen, Cologne and Rock Werchter are in a radius of 100 km. Lucky us compared to Americans.

  3. Think I'm gonna go for the Manchester show (hopefully there'll be two). If it was Wembley and not the Olympic Stadium, I'd have been going for London again.

Tempted to do one of the Rome or Madrid shows as well.

Surprised not to see just one Scandinavian date. Lolla Stockholm and Tinderbox can be ruled out. They won't do four shows in a row. Roskilde on 4 July could work.

London and Manchester as the only UK+Ireland cities also looks weird. Isle Of Wight seems ruled out, since that is the week of Latvia and Russia. TRNSMT on 14 July looks more likely, but not obvious.

  4. Just out of curiosity, do opening shows usually get anything different compared to the rest of the tour? Or do they usually get kinda messed up because they're trying to work out bugs with the production and whatnot?

There are both pros and cons going for the opening show, yes. In this case I assume you mean Houston or Prague. Things most likely won't go completely smooth and there may be some technical issues. But on the other hand it's more exciting since it's premiere of everything, i.e. stage show and setlist.

  5. Roskilde's camping site opens the same weekend as Lolla and Werchter. The music starts on Wednesday. In Denmark, there's also Tinderbox from 27 to 29 June, so could be an opportunity as well. All my fingers are crossed for Roskilde though.

  6. Just a quick guess. :D

Lolla Stockholm on Friday/Saturday 28/29 June (no Swedish date in the announcement).

Rock Werchter on Sunday 30 June.

Stadium show in Nijmigen or Cologne on Tuesday 2 July.

Roskilde Festival on Thursday 4 July (no Danish date in the announcement).

Open'er Festival on Friday 5 July (no Polish date in the announcement).

Stadium show somewhere on Sunday 7 July.

  7. Roskilde Festival is announcing their 4th most request artist this year at noon. Gonna be hugely surprised if Muse are that popular, but we'll see.

Can't think of any of the already announced acts around Europe being the 4th most popular and realistic to Roskilde, so gonna be interesting.

  8. Artists from all corners are announcing their own headline shows for next summer these weeks. Hopefully Muse announce theirs in this or next week.

My eyes are on their UK gigs next summer and I'm noticing no one has announced anything for The Olympic Stadium yet. Metallica are at Twickenham, but Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, The Eagles and Pink are all at Wembley.

The "dream" for me personally is they end their stadium tour at Wembley like in 2010. That place just has some magic to it from my non-UK point of view opposite to any other venue. Saw The Killers there in 2013 and should have Foo Fighters in 2015, but got cancelled. It's time to get back.

If they play at Olympic or Twickenham (or Hyde Park?), I actually think I'm gonna go for the Manchester show just to try something new (never been there).

  9. My God, amazing to look back on those videos from that night. Still hard to believe I actually was there.

The moment that stand out the most for me is definitely the insane scream from the crowd when Assassin started and the first word: "WAAAAAAAAAR !!!!!!".

Other moments on top of my head:

    First Dead Star chorus.

All of Muscle Museum (had not expected that to be so amazing live at all. The singing along was immense).

Crowd singing the bass intro of Easily.

    First Showbiz chorus.

Riff outros after New Born. Remember my neck being totally knackered halfway through but I didn't stop.

The choruses of Sing For Absolution. Absolutely magical and my second fav moment of the night.

Plug In Baby just in general. So happy they played it and the reaction was fantastic despite being "a hit song" of the set.

  10. The end of the gig was just complete mayhem. While flying crowd surfing I got spun around, saw people getting naked before landing a meter from Chris just off the barrier and thought "well surely someone hasn't survived this", especially since people were pulled out of the crowd as early as during dead star. Also, the whole Assassin -> dead star intro was a bit like the battle of the bastards. You were just crushed to death

I took this picture at the end of Knights. Are you the guy who wore that Swedish colored viking hat being pulled out be the security?

I'm sorry to hear about that :( - but it only reinforces my belief that being right at the front is quite literally the worst place to be at any gig. It was always going to be utterly insane down there.

Yeah, but I've attended dozens of gigs from loads of different bands (including Muse once before) and I've never experienced anything like that. But I totally understand that everyone wanted to go nuts and the venue isn't the best for concerts, but it still surprised me that it was really really rough at the front.

After all I've also been to many shows with a packed audience and experienced to stand tightly. But this one just seemed like a whole other level. Even before the band when on stage it looked like people were standing unusually tight, but when they did the whole floor just moved even closer to the front. Of course it's part of the experience, but it must have been uncomfortable enough to not enjoy the show 100%, if you were not in the first three rows I guess.

I think aiming for 15-20th row at Reading will be just perfect.

  11. Lost for words. I fucking got my Assassin -> Dead Star opening. Almost cried when S4A and Futurism started because I thought we were pass the request songs.

Was at level 2 on the side and have some great video clips. Gonna edit them together during the flight home tomorrow morning if I make it to that, 'cause now I'm gonna get piss poor drunk with queue friends.

PS. How did you guys on the floor survive?

  12. A final try on a dream setlist. Potential top 15 of what my guts are saying plus three song encore.

    1. Showbiz (What’s He Building In There intro, +Ashamed outro)
    2. Dead Star (+Micro Cuts outro)
    3. Assassin (GOB)
    4. Futurism
    5. Muscle Museum
    6. Citizen Erased
    7. Sing For Absolution (piano version)
    8. Fury
    9. Glorious
    10. Easily
    11. Eternally Missed
    12. Falling Away With You
    13. Space Dementia
    14. The Small Print (+School, Negative Creep, Endless Nameless, Who Knows Who outro)
    15. Bliss (with balloons)
      -----------------------------------
    16. City Of Delusion (or whatever has become 16th – would personally hope more for Invincible or The Groove)
    17. New Born (proper tempo!) (+Microphone Fiend, Maggie’s Farm, 0123 riff, Headup outro)
    18. Stockholm Syndrome (+Reapers, Freedom, Township Rebellion, War Within A Breath, Agitated, Yes Please, Execution Commentary outro)

If they somehow can show the top 15 results in the encore break, that'd be nice. Most likely there won't be a big screen, but maybe through a projector or something?

On paper that setlist is goosebumps, holy hell in reality ... :stunned::stunned::stunned:
