We'll all agree that Hoodoo possesses the best Muse lyrics then...
Good!
it's kinda the best muse song, as well.
-
That line actually has a pretty decent meaning, but it could sound cringeworthy if you didn't understand the context.
or even if you did
and don't forget "you are my muuuuuuuu"
...never forget.
-
Nothing will ever top "Stretch it like a birth squeeze".
"life's a race and I'm gonna win"
"love is forever and if we die we die together"
"she attacks me like a Leo when my heart is split like Rio"
-
@Citizen Erased #01
in most cases, yes. in some cases like revolt or ibty, no. sadly...
-
yeah i suppose I'm a troll. whatever..
and no I won't start the reapers thing again.
-
I mean stuff like Panic Station, Reapers, Psycho, Revolt (jesuschrist), Survival lyrics etc, where the whole thing "isn't supposed to be taken seriously". a few songs like that would be okay, but there's just way too much of that. And it feels like when someone tells a bad joke and when nobody is laughing they say "ahhh come on guys it was SUPPOSED to be bad, gosh..."
-
Fuck fun. If I want laughs, I'll go listen to enter shikari or something. From Muse, I want goosebumps. and inb4 "omg u asshole u just want them 2 meet ur own Xpectationz omg" I'm seeing that they aren't becoming a "fun" band by choice, it's all there's left in them. It's like that tale with the guy who wanted too many years to live and he just ended up old fooling around like a kid.
-
I don't really care anymore.
but when you hear shit like cia babe and on the outside I'm the greatest guy, you just can't "not care" I've reached a point when I'm actually embarassed to admit being a muse fan because of how impossibly painful the lyrics are 90% of the time
-
yeah I agree. Matt likes to pretend he's dark but, taking the Muse songs into consideration, he really isn't. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. I personally live on a diet of Hannibal, Saw films and am always looking for music and films that push those kind of boundaries. Muse in comparison is a ray of happy sunlight (again, not necessarily a bad thing)
yeah, definitely. it's all pretty relative, though. if you're used to stuff like the haxan cloak or chelsea wolfe, Muse will feel like a sunny day with flying kangaroos. most of the time.

This is not a happy album
I'm not sure I agree.. it's got way too many silly and jolly elements to be considered bleak.
psycho, reapers, mercy, revolt (omg I still can't wrap my head around the fact that they actually made this), defector, they're all really positive/fun sounding songs despite whatever crappy "dark" lyrics matt came up when making them.
-
it's not only about how many songs you get, though.. It's more about the overall intensity and atmosphere of the gig imo (that depends way more on the crowd than the band). From what I've seen, recent muse shows aren't top tier in that regard sadly, so I wouldn't pay for more than the one show they play where I live.
-
it's awesome live! pity that matt decided to ditch the nanana parts in the second and last chorus, though...
-
wow citizen erased is really slow.
also wtf is wrong with the crowd? they got a goddamn dream setlist they should be tearing the place apart...
-
nah, starlight is shit, and mercy is decent. I hope it kicked it out of the sets for good.
probably not, though
-
They need to play Defector already...
no they don't.. writing it was well enough.
-
you got a warning?!
you get warnings for weird things on this board.
-
My mate just phoned me. They're playing Reapers.
he phoned you in the middle of the show?
-
Well I don't think that's true. "Brainwashing our children to be mean" comes to mind.
and survival. and big freeze. and guiding light. and ibty.
-
In my opinion, SMBH is a 'must '
yeah I can't really imagine a muse show without it
-
Citizen erased.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
-
1. Psycho
2. The Handler
3. New Born
4. Hysteria
5. Dead Star
6. Micro Cuts
This is the way Muse
holy shit
could they, like, pretend that every arena tour gig is Download?
-
so umm.. what's happening exactly?
-
yeah, well wikipedia is funny at times.
-
distorted riff =/= metal..
it's like calling new born metal.
