Why they didn't release Get Up And Fight or Propaganda as lead single?
Algorithm
The Dark Side
The Void
Break It To Me
Propaganda
Pressure
Thought Contagion
Blockades
Get Up And Fight
Something Human
Dig Down
EDIT : Algorithm is Perfect for both version!
-
I haven't heard any of them but
gives me hope. I hate Revolt and thought the same thing of it.
I love reading everyone's descriptions but I'm nervous about that one and BITM. But I also think DD is decent, (although def the worst of the released tracks)
If you hate Revolt, I think you'll hate GUAF too
My hightlights are Algorithm (best-song on this album for now), The Dark Side, Break It To Me, and The Void.
The only song that I dislike is Dig Down.
-
Dig Down is the worst track on this album.
And I'm a defender of GUAF
-
Dead Inside is pop; Mercy is a pop-tinged song with big guitars, and the same goes for Revolt. Aftermath is quite pop, too.
To sum up, not even Drones steers away too much from pop, beside the sound.
Pop in 2000s yes.
Edit : except you're talking about chord progression and song structure... Then yeah, Drones is still pop.
-
Muse is already a pop band since absolution. I think we already get used to it.
Since Absolution, only Drones that far away from pop genre in their respective era.
-
Is it possible that 'pro pro pro propaganda' line is the chorus?
-
Pressure drumming is so good imo. I'm glad that during the guitar riff dom not use boring ride/crash.

Y’all are taking fabrizio too seriously
Honestly Dig Down’s not even baaad in of itself. It just suffers from a combination of being v short, simple and conventional whilst sounding overly familiar to Madness, causing it to feel like a less inspired or ‘lazy’ version. If it’d come first there probs wouldn’t be a problem.
I actually believe this kind of theory. If songs like NSC, US, Supremacy, Explorers, Psycho, Mercy, and The Globalist were released in early years, then there are no much hate on these songs.
Esspecially Mercy-Starlight comparison. If Mercy came first, someone can say Starlight has the lazy bass, lazy drumming, and cheesy lyrics compare to Mercy, And Mercy is heavier too. Not to mention Starlight doesn't have outro guitar lol.
But no to Dig Down. There's a big difference between DD and Madness.

If any of the 5 new songs were to take the title, surely it’d have to be Dig Down
Yeessss! I love 3 of them actually... For now, i have to admit that Pressure is the best out of 5. Just because the fact that I listened to this song more than TDS...
-
The songwriting got so sloppy during this Simulation Theory era. I just don't understand why don't they make more effort.
Maybe because they don't want to waste materials like the previous album.
-
That marching band version makes sense now. Especially intro-verse
-
I really hope that this song can enter charts well... Can this single make it?
-
The title 'Break It To Me' fits well to the sound of the song lol. Either that or Algorithm since they've mentioned that song before.
-
Guys Algorithm is actually gonna be a goat Muse song, I can’t keep waiting I need it in my life nowwww.
What did they say about Algorithm?
-
Love the little organ sound before synth solo. I just don't like acoustic guitar strumming. And that layered vocals.
For me :
Thought Contagion
Something Human
Dig Down
Still thinking Dig Down was the biggest mistake they ever made.
I'm curious where SH is placed during live show... Madness's replacement to reduce vocal tiredness?
-
I thought Drones was their heaviest album.. Am I wrong?
-
Wow, where can i find that the new album album is about VR? I thought that only will be concept for upcoming tour and SH video (from teaser).
An album about technologies since OoS? I'm curious
-
I don't mind with Mercy actually...
-
setlist.fm said that there is 'the dark side' outro after stockholm... Is it true?
Edit : Forget it lol
-
Haha thought contagion imagine dragons track... Not that much
-
1. Showbiz

Zedd ft. Matthew Bellamy
Really???
-
'Algorithm' sounds interesting from Matt's description
-
I think that heavy version only has more distorted bass and vocals...
Or maybe something like Crying Shame?
Still love this song though...

The only my disappointment of The Void is when the snare comes in the middle of the song. If they want to build up the song. They should try different approach. But it doesn't change the fact that the void is one of the best song on this album.
