  1. It sounds like ADL has a problem with the "you should just be happy in the presence of Muse" people...(and I do too) - but I think that group encompasses both US fans and European fans that think Americans don't have a right to complain. This is the camp I'm in, and it seems like a lot of people are in Agree with all of this.
  2. What exactly is a "setlist defender?" Just curious. There's a difference between someone saying "I'm OK with what they play, there's nothing I can do about it -- I'm just happy going to gigs" and someone saying "the US setlists are great! I'm completely satisfied with the song choices they've made!" I don't think there has ever been a person in the history of the Muse fandom that has said anything resembling the latter. Edited to add: wow, it just hit me how depressing that sounds - how many American fans are just resigned to the fact they'll take what they can get.
  3. I was able to cross Assassin off the list, so my top 5 would be: 1. Micro Cuts 2. Invincible 3. Glorious 4. Showbiz 5. Muscle Museum
  4. Yeah that's me, thanks for the kind words Is it that obvious? I'm paranoid now... I'm sorry you've been through so much. It's a shit situation to be sure when you devote so much of your life to something and then get hurt by it. I mean, hell -- here's the ultimate apologist position: Even if everything is true and they do feel that way, then oh well. They have stupid and wrong opinions. Despite being a musical genius, Matt can be a full-on idiot sometimes. They're also lazy -- in fact, it's amazing the amount of things they do that piss us all off that can be attributed to simple laziness. It is what it is. Matt's ignorance about the fans and American fans specifically is something that can be fixed. I have hope. Honestly they're probably one of the hardest bands in existence to be a fan of, but for all they've given me, I can't walk away. (Not saying that anyone is, but if they choose to, or want to "take a break" from them...there's nothing wrong with that). But for all of that, I wouldn't trade them for anyone else.
  5. I've actually always been an apologist and defender, haha. That's just how I am - but I recognize the futility and well, idiocy of it sometimes. Even now - I'm completely angry with them but it's not going to really change anything. I just shrug and say well, I'm used to it, I'll take whatever I can get. But you're right about the anger - people are suddenly blowing up if you disagree with them. Hell, just a few minutes ago I got jumped on by someone for coming to someone's defense over this. How ridiculous...
  6. Just out of curiosity, which Tx gig are you referring to? If it's the Dallas gig when Glen came out and talked to us for an extended period of time in the queue, then I was there and I honestly don't recall anything to the depth of what you're saying. He basically said what we knew, which was that they don't play those songs here bc nobody knows them (which is true). Not to get off topic... This I agree with. The only reason this blew up was because finally Europeans were complaining instead of the usual whining Americans.
  7. Would be nice to have a single gig I wouldn't have to fly to. Take out one of those NY gigs and add DC at least. Or Atlanta. Why am I even pondering this, it's not like anything like this is going to happen.
  8. Seconding this. I saw the petition earlier and signed it but I really hope this does something to benefit the places that never get *anything*, and not just the usual suspects that don't have much to complain about. That's a lot of logistics for a band that can't even make their tour announcements all at once or in an order that makes geographical sense. I mean, my goodness, on this tour, UK/Europe got months notice and the US got one month between announcement and the first dates -- which were announced like 3 per week for like 4 weeks in a row to screw over as many people as possible.
  9. Yeah because for some reason they played 3 shows in Ohio, all of which were abysmal attendance-wise. Meanwhile the gigs they played on the last leg were well-attended from what I remember (can't find numbers), yet almost all of those cities were skipped. this too. I understand Matt's been wanting his drones for years now but it boggles my mind they spend $$$ for the production on this tour and it seems like it was so short. If they're "so proud" of it, you'd think they'd want as many people to see it as possible. Oh well, guess their ambition got the best of them. Maybe they'll get the idea an dial it back next time - for the benefit of all of us.
  10. Another person who never posts jumping in to add to the discussion. I was also gutted when I saw the setlist from Saturday night. For me it's not even really the songs themselves (I don't think I will ever hear Micro Cuts live), as much as it is just trying to figure out WHAT THE HELL IS GOING THROUGH THE BAND'S HEAD when they pull this kind of shit. I mean, I'm happy for the handful of hardcore fans that were there, but you can't tell me that "most" of that crowd knew those songs. They played those songs because they wanted to, not because they thought it was a crowd that would "receive it well." That's mostly what I have an issue with as far as Matt's replies on twitter. He seems to have a hard time realizing that a crowd's enjoyment/engagement with the band is going to be different when it's actual Rock Songs being played in a small venue compared to an arena gig when you play Resistance and Madness back to back (see dead US crowds). I mean, what the hell does he expect? I'm one of the idiots that goes to a bunch of gigs but I don't complain about the setlists (other than a "sigh, I'm getting so sick of TIRO" comment every once in a while). I know what I'm getting into. I go because I like the entire experience and I like to travel. I know that chances are I'll be seeing the same songs every gig and I'm OK with that. It sucks to reach this level of acceptance/low expectations and then get a bomb dropped like Montreux. Their randomness is infuriating. I was thinking maybe the band could come up with a pool of 15 rarities. Put 5 from the list up for vote for every gig and rotate. Don't put the same 5 up for vote for 2 gigs in a row. Let us vote for 2-3 every gig. That would be my ideal solution. Otherwise I like your idea. I just know that CE would win. Especially here in the US where it doesn't really get played. If the band would actually rotate from a decent-sized pool of rarities and not end up choosing a top 3 that they do over and over (see AP, CE, Bliss) then it would be great. This is my dream and it is perfect for the US. Even if the rumor is true that they will play festivals (well, Lolla at least) next summer....throw in some club/smaller venue gigs and mix up the setlist - it would be perfect. And make up for the half-ass tour they gave us this time around.

  12. It was amazing. The stuff afterward was just completely unexpected. I also took a vid of CE and it's blocked on YouTube in the US, but if anyone wants to download it, PM me and I'll send you a link. I managed to also get the 2 minutes of Matt messing around on the piano before they actually start playing it.
  13. I'm selling my set of Toronto gig posters (April 2013). I didn't get them via the VIP tix, I got them online. Then I ended up buying the set from Florida and don't have room for these. Right now they're up on ebay but I'm not going to relist if no one buys, I'd rather sell them to someone on here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Muse-limited-edition-gig-posters-Toronto-2013-set-of-2-/181177483426
  14. I love those pics bc, lets be honest, the man doesn't seem to sweat very much on stage -- I know y'all have noticed. Like, not usually enough to see it through his clothes at least. Are there any more sweaty pics of him (and not just a glowing forehead I mean )?
  15. Unnnf, great pics everyone. God Jessica, that last pic with the kaoss pad, that might be the hottest thing I've ever seen *__* Still not done going thru my last few sets, but here are a couple good ones:
  16. Oh no, it's fine, it's just amusing to me. That group has stolen a bunch of people's photos and we've complained and commented and emailed but FB doesn't care. It's really frustrating!! Click here for my gig pics Here's a fave I found a few weeks ago, was going to make it my iphone wallpaper
  17. Haha, yeah, I took that. That BS Muse Facebook group that steals photos cropped out my watermark and reposted it. Ah well. To contribute: I love his hair the length it is now... <3
  18. I'd have to agree. He just needs to STAY OFF OF IT for a few days. I guess it's good they have a week before the next gig.
  19. Hi, I'm selling my (brand new) messenger bag. I bought it at the Manchester gig -- it's the same one on the online store. I haven't used it since I've been back and I probably won't ever will. It's just not a size I can really use (but it looks so good, which is why I couldn't resist buying it ). Anyway, I'd kind of like to sell it to somebody in the US so they can get something w/o getting screwed by shipping fees from the .mu store. If not, that's ok. I'll sell it for $38 US OBO.
  20. OMB the pics in here lately have been killing me!!! <3333 Jessica, your pics are so good!! :') Here are my favorites I got at Indy, Lolla, and OSL. God, I love this man. Below are the links to my Indy and Lolla pics. I don't have OSL up yet (probably tomorrow). Indy Lolla
