  1. I saw a list of the differences between the two and there are actually a fair number of relatively well-known things, like 24, Doctor Who, Spongebob Squarepants, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I hope you don't have too many finals! And I hope the studying is going well .

It's snowing here! The last few years have maybe been 1 weekend of snow for the whole winter, and we've finally got stuff that looks like it'll last a while. I started a snowfort today instead of studying :chuckle:. What's winter like where you are? I feel like it might be like my version of spring or fall :p.

  2. Yeah there are some things only Canadian Netflix has but overall the American Netflix is way bigger. I heard about Hush but not the others. Watching movies before this term is over is probably not gonna happen T_T

Sounds about right :chuckle:. I definitely liked it more than I thought so I'm going to try and stick with it. It's super cool having all the shows on the same network!

That's fair. I haven't gotten it yet, but if I do I'll probably get Moon (only for thematic reasons, because moon = nighttime = astronomy :p). I haven't looked into any of the new moves or Pokemon but I should really do that soon - I wonder how many will get banned on Showdown in the next few weeks. Wait - the Alolan Dugtrio was REAL?! That's actually a thing??? I remember seeing this comic on Reddit

    KTO6eMI.jpg

and honestly thought they were just joking around. That is amazing . Definitely make that team. I won't even be mad if you beat me with Alolan Dugtrio !

  3. Exactly :p

I'm impressed you were still able to work and not get as distracted as I was! :p. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Who knows, maybe it'll be Oprah vs. Kanye West in 2020 :chuckle:. Knowing Trump actually won that doesn't sound so ridiculous as it should.

    Thanks. I appreciate it!

Netflix has so much good stuff! It's also got a lot of great documentaries which I never think I feel like watching but always end up enjoying. I'm jealous of your selection on American Netflix :p. I started watching Supergirl on Netflix too. It's about as cheesy and a bit cringey as I expected but it has its own charm to it. I'll get to Legends afterwards. I'll probably watch both of their episodes next week though since there's that huge crossover bonanza with all the DC shows!

I keep forgetting Sun and Moon just got released! Are you going to get one of them?

  4. Thanks, I feel pretty behind in school right now but I have no big things for the rest of the term so I'm confident I'll catch up by finals. It always works out somehow :p.

I guess not :p. Just about to watch the next episode actually. Yeah, they're always pretty thought-provoking at least. Definitely not :p.

I know I couldn't keep my eyes off the TV on election night. I was planning on studying but that was a no-go when I saw how crazy things were getting. Who woulda guessed that Trump would actually win. His VP is terrifying! I'd like to think that a lot of his voters didn't vote for him because of his hateful views but for other reasons, because there's a lot more that goes into a vote than just social justice issues. Maybe he'll be so bad that it'll cause a big reset in the country that's good in the long run, like a great progressive future can rise from the ashes. Yeah I saw the Canadian immigration site crashed! I know a lot of us up here (almost every single person I've talked to) wanted Bernie to win.

My family had to say goodbye to our dog yesterday. We decided to put her down since her quality of life in her old age just wasn't there anymore. But she lived a happy and healthy life of over 15 years, and for that I am grateful!

  5. Yeah, it was also raining so my tail got a bit wet :chuckle: but it was all worth it. Glad you had fun too!

I think I'm in a quiet portion where marking is concerned. And I just wrote my last midterm which went alright so I'm finally able to catch up on assignments and my thesis. I hope school is going alright for you! Both those episodes are definitely some of my favourites! It's nice to see Supernatural's ratings have been doing pretty well recently.

That's fair, I can't get into other cooking competitions except for Hell's Kitchen - it's all thanks to Gordon Ramsey :chuckle:. That's too bad about Westworld. Hopefully it improves. I still need to watch the Black Mirror episodes! :(. I'm made fun of by my friends for not crying at guaranteed tear-jerkers, so I'm probably as cold-hearted as you :p.

That's pretty neat. Yeah Suicune really surprised me with how reliable it is.

So... how 'bout that election? Did you vote today?

  6. Happy Halloween by the way! I did dress up as Squirrel Girl :chuckle:. Had a few people recognize me which was fun. As I was walking back from school (Monday's a late day for me) I was able to walk around the neighbourhood amongst all the trick-or-treaters - it's such a wonderful atmosphere . Hope your Halloween was good too!

  7. Finals are around mid-December. Yeah, a lot of people complained about it but I wasn't bothered by it. For one thing the lady was wearing brass knuckles with some kind of sigils on them. The sigils probably allowed her to fight Cas (and who knows, maybe they also weakened the two of them). And in scenes before it's not hard to guess she was a very tough, capable, and trained fighter. A lot of people seem to praise Dean and Sam as the absolute best hand-to-hand fighters ever but when you think about they were self-taught and are usually against people/things that have little hand-to-hand experience. Went on a bit there :chuckle: but yeah, I think people made waaaay to big of a deal about it. I didn't realize it was that bad until I saw the graph either :chuckle:. Reminds me of Supernatural and that spinoff episode Bloodlines (graph here).

Yeah there's two seasons of Hell's Kitchen every year I think, one over the fall/winter and the other over the spring/summer. It's into season 16 now - and it's a guilty pleasure as ever :awesome:. I keep hearing about Westworld. I didn't tear up... :shifty: but I came close.

:p I'll beat you one day! Hmm I'm interested in this fool-proof plan of yours. Yeah I think my favourite team I've made so far is my rest/whirlwind team (Skarmory, Suicune, etc) combined with heal bell. Tyranitar has always been really strong, and he's got a lot of versatility with his movesets so you never know what kind of Tyranitar you're facing and how to face it. He gets a lot better in later gens, too.

  8. Yeah, and the same will happen around Finals and when I have to mark their final projects :noey:. Ahh well. They're writing their midterm today actually. I'll find out how it went next week. Supernatural's pretty solid right now! Flash is still good but Arrow has made an absolutely enormous improvement in quality. Take a look :chuckle:.

I haven't been able to check it out yet! I'm glad there are at least a lot of episodes; the other season have been so short. So far I've got Gotham and Lucifer on Mondays, Flash on Tuesdays, Arrow on Wednesdays, Supernatural on Thursdays, and Hell's Kitchen on Fridays :p so I've been having a hard time fitting in time for other shows. I did finished the Office though, just yesterday. Very emotional last few episodes as you can imagine, but a very fitting end to the series.

Yeah you're really good at the random battles! Ahh well about the others, keep trying! :awesome:. Nice, that guy with the Lugia must have been pretty salty :chuckle:

  9. Just listened to it. I had no idea there was such a thing  and it's official too...

Yeah I've been counting the hours I've been spending on this teaching assistant job which is supposed to be 12 hours a week and this was was 38 :noey:. It's because all my marking for the term isn't evenly spread across the term but rather across just a few days/weeks (e.g. marking their midterm, marking their final), and this week was the first batch of marking. I definitely put too much work into it because everyone else did it in at most half the time:. I haven't even watched Thursday's Supernatural yet! :'(. (end rant :p)

Now that I'm done with the marking I should have a lot more time after I've caught up in my classes. You'll get to test out your teams eventually! Have you tried playing them on the ladder yet?

  10. It happens!

How can something be hilarious, adorable, and so creepy at the same time...

:chuckle: I could do Slowpoke... Seviper is also a valid alternative... and there's also Skarmory. Hmm.

Sorry I wasn't able to get on Pokemon Showdown last night! I've been swamped with school work. Going to try and put a little cup team together during a break today though ;). Hopefully will be able to play tonight.

  11. NOT THE SLOWPOKE

    NOT HIM

 Gotta give it to ya, that's a great icon. Oh wow, that's a really adorable Pikachu costume :chuckle:. I love everyone's reactions in the video!

Thanks! Still thinking of Halloween pumpkin ideas. Maybe I'll do a Pokemon related one :p.

  12. Good luck!

Oh definitely :p I hate playing against it. Yeah it's super annoying! Speed Boost/Sword Dance pokemon are staples on Baton Pass. It's easily countered with Pokemon with roar/whirlwind but if they don't have an answer it can get out of hand so fast. Ooh those both sound like good combos! I have Skarmory on almost all my teams :p whether it's gen 2 or gen 6 or anywhere in between. In gen 6 my general playstyle was a super tanky stalling team that just whittles you down bit by bit. Yeah a few years ago the world championships for Pokemon TCG were held in Vancouver. There was a huge temporary Pikachu statue near Downtown Vancouver!

So this weekend was Thanksgiving in Canada! A weird Thanksgiving tradition some of my family have is to carve pumpkins (even this early in October). This year I did Kylo Ren. Really happy with how it turned out:

    GnO9eb9.jpg

Not sure what to do yet for when it's actually Halloween...

  13. I know! It's so well done. Best of luck! :awesome: Wow, that's a huge scarecrow. Looks awesome and will take up a lot of space on your lawn. I know :noey:.

Great to hear! Same for me. I think within the battling Pokemon community it's pretty well known - it's part of Pokemon Smogon which is pretty much *the* place to discuss competitive battling and strategy. The Smogon forum is also a great resource for build ideas and team comps. Toxic spikes is so stupid :chuckle:. There are also some really awful combinations that were so overpowered they had to be banned out of OU. One of my favourites was building a Klefki with the Prankster ability, and Swagger, Thunder Wave, Reflect, and Substitute. Swagger increases your opponent's attack and confuses it, so you basically just keep swaggering your enemy is so strong it just knocks itself thanks to being confused! And between substitute and reflect, your already tanky Klefki takes almost no damage in the small chance (thanks to the thunder wave) that the opponent even gets a hit off. Oh and the Prankster ability means your status-inflicting moves have priority, so you'll pretty much always be able to get off your combo first.:awesome: There's also baton pass teams where basically most of your pokemon are tanky, equipped with baton pass, and have attack/special attack/speed-boosting abilities. You keep passing your boosted stats off to the next pokemon with baton pass, until your main attacking pokemon gets like 4 times the attack power and just one-shots the entire enemy team.... I'll stop rambling now :p. Yeah I remember when I would play Gen VI a lot there were some teams I just had absolutely no answer for. Sometimes it's not even about your team, but just being able to predict what your opponent's next move is and making the appropriate answer, always thinking a few moves ahead... Pokemon strategy is surprisingly deep! I'll keep an eye out for you then, who knows, maybe we'll battle soon! :p

  14. Good :p

That sounds like a lot of fun! I've never done it myself. I'm sure you'll learn a lot and be able to keep upping yourself every year. Someday you should try to do this:

    uF0Cmqw.gif

It's so boring around Halloween here, that's for sure :noey:. That's definitely one of the best . I think after Steve Carrell left the show the pranks have become more of the staple of the show.

Awesome! Exactly, you can really try any pokemon team you want without having to grind it out, and in doing so you actually learn the game really well. Showdown uses a tier system to try and make things fair, so really overpowered pokemon are placed in the "Uber" tier and the rest of the popular/good but more balanced pokemon are in "OverUsed (OU)" tier (the most popular tier to play). There are other lower tiers for the less popular/good pokemon. If I remember correctly Snorlax is considered the king of OU in gens 2 and 3, maybe more. Most legendaries are usually in Uber (e.g. Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Deoxys). You're probably playing in the OU tier so that's why you've only run into Zapdos. Wobbuffet and Wynaut are the only non-legendaries in Uber, because their ability Shadow Tag combined with their amazing tanking and countering power. You can find the OU gen 3 list here: http://www.smogon.com/dex/rs/formats/ou/. There's also build recommendations on there if you're interested! Well, my username on there is XxCasxX so if you search me up and I'm online, certainly I'm ready to battle! :p I made a couple gen 3 teams a few days ago though I have no idea if they work well or not. I haven't gotten that far into Doom yet but I think I can see that already :chuckle:.

  15. YOU CAN DO IT!:awesome:

I'll keep that in mind. I had forgotten about it too until I saw reviews come out for it :$. I know! October is almost here! :awesome: I think I'm going to dress up at school on Halloween since it's a Monday. My school has no Halloween spirit so I'll be one of the only people dressed up but I don't care :p. I made a Squirrel Girl costume for a comicon earlier this year so I'll probably use that. Maybe I'll save the Exorcist and catching up on American story for later in October. I'm really enjoying the Office! Some of the characters have changed a bit, but for the most part are the same. Jim and Dwight's pranking relationship is one of my favourite things about the show. But I don't want to experience that movie again :'(...

So far I like the additions, but we'll see how it actually works in game. I wonder how the feeding and caring of pokemon will work. Pokemon showdown is a lot of fun! I initially played it to test out different teams and EV's before spending the time in game to catch and train all the pokemon to make my perfect team, but I ended up getting stuck there :chuckle:. Thanks to showdown I now know that Wobbuffet is actually one of the most overpowered pokemon out there... and I always thought he was one of the weakest. That would be fun! :p I better start putting a team together. That's too bad about Resident Evil. I got Doom 3 finally, and I'm happy to say it's more like original Doom. Not as much psychological horror/dark rooms as Doom 3 but awesome overall.

  16. I thought you were talking about Black Mirror but now that you mention it Atlanta makes a lot more sense :$. I still have yet to watch it! Been stuck with school work :noey:

Darn, I'm sorry to hear that. Wish you enjoyed it more. I wonder what I'll think about it now. Have you watched the Exorcist? I heard decent reviews of the show, but like usual have yet to watch it. I still need to see the new American Horror Story episodes too. Aaaand I'm almost done the Office, in season 8 now, so I want to get that done soon. I looked up the differences between the Ultimate and theatrical cuts, and for sure some of the scenes they added were absolutely necessary for the film making sense. On the other hand many of the smaller additions only made an already super long film even longer. I can't directly compare it to the theatrical version since I didn't see that one, but it looks like the Ultimate Cut was better. Still not good though... I can't imagine how bad the theatrical version must have seemed now that I think of it :noey:

I can see it end up happening. There's also Sun and Moon coming in a few months! That's fair. I only know of the newer abilities and pokemon because I played the newer games - I don't stay updated outside of that. Before playing X I really only knew up to 3rd gen too. Have you ever played Pokemon Showdown? You can play online against people and fully customize your team (pokemon with the right ev's, iv's, items, abilities, etc) and also fight using only certain gens. I usually don't have the patience to get that sorted out in game, so it's kind of fun to mess around with it. I'm pretty bad though :chuckle:

  17. It is! :awesome:

I've gotta find someone to go see it with me! Too bad I'm the only one of my friends that likes horror movies :noey:. I got my friend to watch the Blair Witch Project with me (after much convincing) and he had to turn it off halfway through. I saw the Director's Cut of BvS and people said it was better than the theatrical release, but that's not saying much. Ahh yes :chuckle:. Yeah no need to dig it up. I haven't seen it past that first time yet.

I don't have many classes this term (thank goodness) so it's going alright so far. Thanks! I'll try :p.

Yeah! Did they say they were going to release more generations? If so, it's just more pokemon for people to go out and risk their lives to get :noey:. Yeah I've heard a lot of stories of people like that. And about people who quit their jobs to collect them all. I like the idea of getting people out and walking around but it's also so risky with people really not paying attention to their surroundings. I would probably play X or Y over Omega Ruby if you get a 3DS, mainly because it's a new storyline !and it's actually pretty good!) Oh yeah? :phu: You wanna bet? :fear: (just kidding, you'd definitely beat me. I'm not that good. Or am I... :shifty:) Are you the kind of person that would get the perfect EV's and IV's for your pokemon? :p

  18. ME TOO :awesome:

That's interesting. I think I would like that more than the last season. :p Tsk tsk, another show on your list!

To be fair this really hasn't been the best year for movies. A lot of disappointments I think. Have you not seen BVS yet? What did you think of Man of Steel?

Yes! I'm glad you haven't been spoiled. It's definitely part of some emotional moments and I'm glad I didn't know about it before seeing the movie. I'm glad to hear school seems to be going well! Laid back teachers are great. I've got one really laid back teacher, and this one really, really excitable, passionate Russian prof for a physics class that already feels pretty overwhelming. Ahh well. I'll also be a teaching assistant for some low level physics so that should be fun. My brother was telling me about an astronomy course he's in for arts students, and they had to answer a multiple choice question about how many stars were in the Solar System. Most people answered "an uncountable amount". Oh and apparently the Earth takes 24 hours to go around the Sun, not a year.

I'm in the exact same situation. I played Pokemon Go for a few days and then got bored and uninstalled it. If it didn't have Pokemon aspect it wouldn't be nearly as popular, which kind of tells you how good a game it really is. There isn't any interesting combat or pokemon training, leveling, and evolving aspect either. Nice! :yesey: I've been going back to play through Omega Ruby.

    ... Thank you?;)

  19. It's been so long since Black Mirror I had forgotten about it! And it looks like there will be 6 episodes next season! :awesome:

Yeah, it'll be delicate bringing her back, and they can't drag it out too long because I think it's pretty clear she'll be back. That's true about the investigation. Maybe they found some way to hide them. Either way I'm interested in what their fates were. That's an interesting theory about Will! I'd definitely like to see more of the Upside Down than we did in season 1. I'm betting the Sheriff will turn on his government deal at some point.

Your list must be getting really long now! :p

Oh it was very cheesy . Bones got a lot more screen time. They focused a lot more on emphasizing the relationships between Kirk, Spock, and Bones like in the original series, and I really appreciated they did that! They also did something for Leonard during the movie that I won't spoil.

How has school been so far? You're now about a week into classes, right? My first day back is tomorrow.

  20. Definitely wouldn't mind him replacing her. Thanks :chuckle:. The CW Superman definitely looks awkward in that photo, but I think it was just a weird photo. He looks alright in set photos. Yeah I'm not sure if I'll be getting to Legends anytime soon. Ahh well, there are lots of great shows to look forward to this fall and I'm eager to have them back.

Stranger Things definitely got better in the second half. I still wouldn't say I loved it in the end but it was enough for me to want to watch the second season.

Dustin was the most likeable of the trio for sure. He was probably my favourite character as well. I'm sure we'll see Eleven again considering the sheriff left the Eggo waffles in the forest. I wonder what the government agency has in store for later because of their deal. And what about other psychic kids, like assumedly numbers One to Ten? :chuckle: Well, Barb was not much more than monster fodder. I wonder why Will isn't telling anyone about throwing up those worms (and why the hospital didn't pick it up when they would have checked him over, though that's probably more of a nit-pick than something to do with the plot). Is it just that he doesn't want to worry his mom, or is the worm taking over his mind in some way?

    That's awesome!

I finally got around to watching the new Star Trek movie (my brother wanted to me to wait to watch it together). Went with my dad too and we all loved it. It was messy at parts, and like the other two movies, most of it was non-stop action with some kind of ridiculous solutions to problems - but it had a some really nostalgic and emotional moments that made it a fitting 50th anniversary movie. I agree with a lot of reviewers in that it felt more like classic Trek than the other movies. It focused on the characters and their relationships more, and them working together after being abandoned on an alien world. It was sad seeing Anton Yelchin on screen though, and the movie was dedicated to him as well as in memory of Leonard Nimoy.

  21. Heh, Curtis is super useful; one episode he even filled in for her and it was one of the more tolerable ones to watch! I know, you'd think the League would be able to hold their own pretty well - and Dahrk himself was supposed to be one of the greatest and more feared fighters which makes it even worse. Yep, totally swept under a rug! She's shaken for a few minutes, goes through a 20-second pep talk and then is completely back to normal after killing all those people. And that's pretty much the last it gets mentioned. Oh definitely I'll be watching season 5. Not because I think it'll get better - more to see just how bad it can get :p. I don't have high hopes, and this pretty much sums it up (what's next for each DC show on the CW):

    O0cxb8e.jpg

I never started watching Legends of Tomorrow and I heard it was pretty meh. I think Captain Cold is a great character though, so I'd even watch it just for him.

Ahh I see what you're saying, that's a good point! :chuckle: I wonder how many the show has already angered. I'd imagine quite a few already.

 I see what you mean. I can't see AMC being able to get away with a lot of that. I can see why the comic is considered especially controversial!

Yeah, I did stick with it to the end to see it through. I think the second half of the season is stronger than the first half since they move closer to the actual mystery/sci-fi and everyone is eventually on the same page (finally). ... I had no idea Barb had a fanbase. I looked it up just now and wow, she's really become a sensation... I don't understand it at all. She was pretty boring and really only served as a plot device instead of a well-developed character.

I also heard that they did a pretty good job at least. Definitely sounds like it deserved its bad reviews!

  22. Very appropriate reaction.

Yeah I liked Felicity in the first two seasons but now she's such a hypocritical never-wrong Mary Sue that has completely taken over the show - it's such a shame. Oliver never goes as close to full Green Arrow as we would hope - instead Felicity and her "hacking" always save the day. The fight choreography has really become so bad... have you seen this from the season 4 finale? You'd hope they would put in some effort but nope... it gets especially bad at 2:00. And remember that this is THE final showdown between Oliver and the big bad of all of season 4 - you'd think it would be memorable (in a good way).

NUKES. YES . Several plot points involved nuking the whole world... at one point a whole city was nuked (Felicity diverted a nuke that was going to hit a major city to hit a smaller city instead), and she's way more devastated that her mom lied to her than the deaths of 10,000 people. The season finale was such a letdown though. Dahrk, the big bad, gets his power from deaths, and the city getting nuked gives him the power of 10,000 souls on top of the immense power he already had. In the show you see he's unstoppable, powerful, etc, but in the finale Oliver is able to channel that same kind of magic but with "hope" instead of deaths and that leads to Dahrk and Oliver just fist-fighting at the end. Really terrifying

    ... I'll stop now :p

Yes! It really was :chuckle:. Jesse being able to send someone to Hell by just telling them to really makes me wonder what the extent of his power is. He was able to get the girl in the coma to open her eyes, but what if he'd said "be cured"? Can he tell someone "go to Jamaica" and they'll be teleported to Jamaica? Yeah I'd grown attached to Emily too and it seemed she was becoming more incorporated with the group as a good ally at least. I think the "God" scene fit really well with the rest of the show. You would think it would be a bit corny but then I think it actually works well with the humour, so I thought it was good. Huh, I should check out what Quincannon gets up to in the comics then... I'm trying to think of what he might do that was more disturbing. For me the weirdest parts were when he was listening to the cows being slaughtered over the radio...

Right? I totally understand what you mean by underwhelmed. Again I wasn't really blown away by the show. The teenage romance, yeah, and also just the extremely stereotypical suburban family that seems to show up everywhere - brother and sister who fight and tell secrets out loud at the dinner table, over-protective and nosy mom, couldn't-care-less/listen-to-your-mother dad... it just seems so familiar. The sketchy government agency with secret experiments? Seen that a hundred times before. And so many more very familiar tropes. Agree about the "Should I stay" scene - as I might have mentioned earlier I really think that the 80's music feels forced. A lot of people have praised the soundtrack but I just thought it often doesn't fit or is overused, and it's like they have an 80's song just for the sake of it to make it more nostalgic.

Sounds like the reviews were pretty accurate then. I might not see it then and just wait for it to be on DVD(/streaming). I was going to see it with some friends but we never got around to it because we were all so "meh" about it with the reviews. It sounds really disappointing!

  23. Oh by all means - I'm all ears! Arrow is really a joke now, I completely agree with your problems with it :yesey:. Yeah Slade Wilson was perfectly cast and initially he was a great villain but they seriously messed up his character - and what makes it even more sad is that Manu Bennett was actually a fan of the DC comics and he's said in interviews how disappointed he was in what Arrow did. Yeah Arrow mistreated Laurel a lot so I'm glad she's at least getting some respect on Flash - and her canary cry looks even better than ever. Season 3 was bad but nowhere as bad as Season 4, especially with where they took Felicity's character. My goodness Felicity is horrible now... The show might as well be called "Felicity and Friends". And don't get me started on the writing and plot points they introduced. This has got to be one of the best scenes:

Ahh I see. I can imagine a lot of great 80's wigs already. That's a perfect disguise! They won't ever see me coming! :ninja:

Aaaand as of tonight I'm all caught up!

Yeah episode 6 was a great episode overall - it started to finally bring some of the characters up to speed on everything. Naw you're not alone, I find the other two more interesting as well, though Jesse is still intriguing and I'm sure we'll get more of his backstory revealed. I was really not expecting Emily to feed Miles to Cas but the more I think about it it's as surprising as you would think. And I was really not expecting the whole town to blow up at the end! Overall the season felt like a prequel/setup so I think next season will be maybe more fast-paced - I'm looking forward to it! The whole Carlos thing has been put to rest so the story can focus on the singular goal of being on a road trip to find God, while being hunted by this mysterious cowboy from Hell... and it seems like his guns kill even angels? Should be good.

Oh and Quincannon is a huge creep. That is a disturbing guy right there. Sad what happened to his family though - I guess that's what sent him on his way to the character we see now.

I think it will - as bad as the movies have been, people are still going out to watch them. Maybe if both Justice League and Wonder Woman flop they'll cancel it. Oh have fun! :p Let me know how it goes. I'll probably be seeing it pretty soon as well. I still haven't seen Deadpool :$

  24.

    Yeah that's fair!

:chuckle: Or Arrow. Not sure if you've been watching it but it's really, really bad now. They use the words hope, light, and darkness every few lines!. Yeah I was wondering about what the Men of Letters were up to, like during the Apocalypse, and why we've never heard of them until now. I agree about Lucifer, he's been used so much already and with such great people to play him earlier I'm afraid this Lucifer in the next season will be disappointing.

It really was! I'm looking forward to the full length version when the DVD is out.

:p Looking forward to seeing those wigs. Is it based in a certain time-period? :chuckle: Maybe I should. The Supernatural crew already recognize me. I'm enjoying Preacher! I'm up to episode 5 now. I meant to watch more but a video game tournament has been on the past week so I've been watching that instead all day. I'll be interested to discuss the season finale with you then! Cassidy is great, and I love how his nickname is Cas here too. The angels are pretty funny in their awkwardness. Since they were introduced I really thought they were the bad guys but it seems they have a good reason for being there... still kind of mysterious though, so I'm looking forward to seeing what their true intentions are since apparently Heaven doesn't know/want them on Earth.

That's true, I did hear that the reception to BvS's darkness made SS lighter than intended, so I can see something similar happen to Justice League and Wonder Woman. :noey: At least Ben Affleck will be directing the next Batman solo film and he's a good filmmaker, and I liked his Batman a lot more than I was expecting... though that's not going to be for a few years.

 Oh Japan! I'm not sure who I would "cheer" for in that matchup.

  25. Oh definitely the lights will be off :p. I've never a been an anime person and I've never been interested in reading manga, but Death Note is an exception. Add it to the list of shows you should watch! :awesome::p. I'm also happy about it being on Netflix.

I almost got a bit teary when Dean and Bobby saw each other! It really was an amazing and emotional episode. Yeah I'm glad they brought Kevin in one last time; it was a much more fitting way to say goodbye to him than when we last saw him. I think it was clear that God really stepped back from any meddling with Earth/Heaven/etc even in the case of the Apocalypse... that he was "done" with being God and just wanted to let everything happen naturally. He helped the Winchesters along a little but didn't want to interfere more than that. That became his philosophy that he's followed for thousands of years.

The season finale got mixed reviews, and a lot of people definitely share your feelings on it. I can see how it could be considered a let-down, but I actually found it really refreshing! My take is that... the whole season, Amara was shown as more misunderstood than evil so I was glad they didn't kill her in the end and there was time for her to explain where she was coming from. In the end it was family that won the day, and family has been at the heart of Supernatural since day 1. They don't always have to kill the "big bad" to wrap up the story. And I'm glad they're scaling it back with the Men of Letters chapter being the next main storyline. I've always wondered how they'd top bringing God into the mix but they showed that they don't have to keep topping themselves every year. I didn't really think of Sam getting shot as a cliffhanger as much as a way of introducing this new MoL chapter as no-nonsense. I'm completely confident Sam wasn't shot dead since they made a huge point of telling the audience that a Winchester death from now on is really the end (through the introduction of Billie).

I agree about Lucifer, though I'm not sure how viable it would be to have Mark Pellegrino or Misha back as Lucifer storyline-wise as much as I'd like to see them play Lucifer again (they need a "live" vessel for Lucifer so Mark wouldn't work, and they need Cas to be Cas again too so Misha wouldn't work). It'll be definitely be weird seeing him in a completely new body and I can't imagine anyone can top what we've already seen. I hope he has a purpose too and isn't just in the show for the sake of having Lucifer as a character... hopefully they don't waste his character!

 That line was great. I watched the gag reels shown at SDCC this year and Jensen kept tripping over that one line with hilarious consequences :chuckle:

Yay! I'm sure you'll like it. There are 4 seasons out now, each with 10 episodes so it really is a quick watch. The next season has been confirmed to be the last. That's high praise for The Americans! I'll add it to my list. I've been binge-watching a lot of shows recently so I'm reaching the end of my to-do list pretty soon. I just finished all of Lucifer and it was fantastic. Really a lot of fun. I was surprised it didn't get that great reviews critically but it seems that average watchers think highly of it. They cast the perfect guy to play Lucifer and I'll definitely try to track them down filming when I'm back home :ninja:. I've moved on to Preacher now and finished episode 1. Definitely going to keep watching and at this rate I'll be done in a couple days.

I didn't realize it but you're absolutely right about that! :chuckle:. I wonder how much of what made it bad was studio interference and how much was that it was just a bad movie... probably a bit of both. Too bad, too. DC movies just can't seem to succeed.
