That's true. Yeah when I was young I always even associated the 20th Century music with Star Wars - that *was* Star Wars music to me, haha. It was a great feeling seeing the Star Wars logo and the scrolling text on the big screen. I saw it on opening night so emotions were really high in the theatre, and everyone cheered when the movie started. Of course people cheered a lot when Han and Chewie came on screen, when C-3P0 came on, times like that - and also when the Millenium Falcon first showed up. That was great! "The junk will do!"

You make a good point about Snoke's age; now I'm wondering what he was up to back then! Also I kept wondering why Hux looked so familiar to me and then I realized he was Charlie Weasley.

Yeah Phasma was heavily advertised but she barely had a part. I'd be surprised if she didn't have more to do next time. My guess is that it was a combination of being so guilty about what he had done, and also keeping her safe (i.e. away from him). Some people are also wondering if she's a relative of Obi-Wan; I mean, who knows what he was up to between episodes 3 and 4; maybe he had a kid that would become one of her parents. Another idea is that she's a Kenobi and a Skywalker although I think that's pushing it a bit. I was also thinking she might be a Solo throughout a lot of the movie, but then a daughter was never mentioned by Han or Leia so I think that's the least likely explanation. Poe was pretty great too, hopefully we see more of him as well. C-3PO wasn't really needed other than completeness I think. I'll always think of C-3PO and R2-D2 as an old married couple :chuckle:. I was really hoping that Ackbar might say "Maybe it's a trap!"

I'd forgotten about Harrison wishing that! Ahh well my brother saw a picture someone had taken from the movie theatre of the scene where Han dies - the moment the lightsabre went through him. He saw the movie several days after me so he kept asking me if it was true or not; he didn't want to believe it!

My goodness, I got so carried away with writing up the Star Wars review last message that I completely forgot to wish you a Merry Christmas then!

Thank you and I hope you had a Merry Christmas, and are enjoying the holiday :xmas:

  2.

The trailer for the next episode is freaking me out... Cas is really losing it. I hope that when he hits Dean he starts to snap out of it. And YES MORE CROWLEY AND CAS AND MEG! It looks like a great episode. Not a happy one though, of course .

Yeah I hope so too, about Meg.

Also: I've got a HUGE spoiler on a particular someone who's going to be back in episode 19 :awesome: hehehehe!

Did you see the Supernatural Shake?

Also, a side note on the Shake video:

It was filmed during episode 19 filming. They're in a demon's trap, in the middle of a crossroads, and the ground is dug up in the centre... maybe they tried to trap Crowley. Or someone made a deal...

Aww that does sound tiring. And at least you're making money ;)

Thanks! Comicon was ridiculously awesome :awesome:. I met Misha! I got a photo-op with him :chuckle:. And I did get to ask my question! Somebody uploaded it:

I sound REALLY nervous and it doesn't sound like me :chuckle: but haha, that's my question.

  3.

True, true :chuckle:. :awesome: That would be AWESOME. Speaking of the finale apparently there'll be a big cliffhanger. Yeah not very long! :chuckle: Whoa you're right!

Looking forward to next episode, finally they'll be getting back to the Leviathans. And Felicia Day is a guest star :awesome:

Thanks! It did! The prof is also uber generous with part marks ;).

I'm just glad now that I'm FREEEE!

    It is :(

  4.

Yeah I was sad about Benny and Dean. Hoping Amelia doesn't get back in the storyline...

The last episode was hilarious XD I LOVED the Braveheart scene at the end! And the episode was so lighthearted. Loved Dean geeking out over the whole episode - he really is a nerd at heart

Edit: oops, must've sent you two of the same message somehow :chuckle:

    How've you been?

  5.

Yeah I was sad about Benny and Dean. Hoping Amelia doesn't get back in the storyline...

The last episode was hilarious XD I LOVED the Braveheart scene at the end! And the episode was so lighthearted. Loved Dean geeking out over the whole episode - he really is nerd at heart

  6.

Yeah I wish he didn't die too! It was  the whole episode was funny! :awesome: And it was finally based in Vancouver!

Yeah, and within a few episodes only. I have to agree with you. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still enjoy watching the series! But it's not as good; the Leviathans are so one-dimensional. Compared to villains like Crowley (and yeah he's one of my favourites now too. I love his random anger management problems :chuckle:), they're just really flat. The story's been slow on progressing; there are too many filler episodes. I wonder how the season finale will be, because so far none of them have disappointed me!

I'm probably going to be all caught up by tonight - in time for the new episode :D

You're welcome! How did the exam go?

    :awesome::chuckle: Cool!

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

  7.

    Yeah that's fair!

:chuckle: Or Arrow. Not sure if you've been watching it but it's really, really bad now. They use the words hope, light, and darkness every few lines!. Yeah I was wondering about what the Men of Letters were up to, like during the Apocalypse, and why we've never heard of them until now. I agree about Lucifer, he's been used so much already and with such great people to play him earlier I'm afraid this Lucifer in the next season will be disappointing.

It really was! I'm looking forward to the full length version when the DVD is out.

:p Looking forward to seeing those wigs. Is it based in a certain time-period? :chuckle: Maybe I should. The Supernatural crew already recognize me. I'm enjoying Preacher! I'm up to episode 5 now. I meant to watch more but a video game tournament has been on the past week so I've been watching that instead all day. I'll be interested to discuss the season finale with you then! Cassidy is great, and I love how his nickname is Cas here too. The angels are pretty funny in their awkwardness. Since they were introduced I really thought they were the bad guys but it seems they have a good reason for being there... still kind of mysterious though, so I'm looking forward to seeing what their true intentions are since apparently Heaven doesn't know/want them on Earth.

That's true, I did hear that the reception to BvS's darkness made SS lighter than intended, so I can see something similar happen to Justice League and Wonder Woman. :noey: At least Ben Affleck will be directing the next Batman solo film and he's a good filmmaker, and I liked his Batman a lot more than I was expecting... though that's not going to be for a few years.

 Oh Japan! I'm not sure who I would "cheer" for in that matchup.

  8.

Yeah, effing Metatron . I didn't expect at all that he'd be the new Big Bad for next season (or, one of them). Cas must feel even more guilty now. It's kinda too bad though that the last time we've really heard about how Cas is feeling, he said he felt so guilty that he was feeling suicidal (in 8x08 Hunteri Heroici), but there's been no talk since about how he's been doing.

The final shot was beautiful. I mean, the effects were beautiful - one of my favourite shots of the series, I think - but also so tragic! :( I wonder what will become of the angels now. If there's any way of reversing the spell, and if they'll lose their powers or if it's just Cas who's human now. And JEEZ Cas is human now! :'( You could just see the sadness and loss in his face at the end there as he watched all his brothers and sisters falling. I could see Cas becoming human though; Misha being a regular was a big implication. I wonder how they'll deal with his humanity now - if it'll be a big storyline thing, or if it'll be pushed to the background.

I really hope that Naomi's not dead, but doubt it. She was one of my favourite additions to the series. I loved to hate her :p. I'm sad she probably won't be around to see season 9, especially as she kinda redeemed herself right before she died. Sad what she said about the angels forgetting that their mission was to protect humans. And too bad about Abaddon losing her vessel - I liked her too. Wonder if she'll become the Queen of Hell now, in place of Crowley.

And good idea about Crowley becoming an ally! I can see that. Mark Sheppard nailed his scenes. I felt so much for Crowley as he became more human. Funny how his accent started to change to a more American one as he humanized, since isn't his vessel a New York stock broker or something? :chuckle: Nice touch, Mark. But really, yeah I wonder if he'll go back to his demon self since he wasn't completely cured, or if he'll be a semi-demon semi-human, and if now that he remembers what it's like to be human, he'll become an ally.

I was initially shocked that Dean and Sam stopped closing the gates of Hell of all things, considering that the whole season has revolved around the trials and tablets and stuff, and it was at first glance at very similar situation to Swan Song. But where that involved saving millions/billions of lives, closing the gates of Hell was more of a clean-up kinda thing (i.e. not a necessity for the survival of humanity), and they really do have a lot more knowledge to fight demons with. I could understand Dean's reasoning.

Lastly, I liked the cupid scene in the bar :chuckle:. And the shock on Dean's face!

No wonder the next few months are called the Hellatus.:facepalm::LOL:

Darn, spoiled about Iron Man 3? Glad that you've managed to be saved from Star Trek 2 spoilers! It was a great movie :awesome:. I think I liked the first one a bit more but I'll have to watch the second one again to make a better comparison.

Definitely seeing Star Trek 2 (Wrath of Khan) added to the experience of watching this new Star Trek 2.

  9.

Yeah, there's a lot they could do with his character. Yeah, so relieved they're both alright! And that Cas has his angel powers back. I loved that! Me too. Do you think archangels will get resurrected at some point? Or gradually, something like that. I liked the idea of the four horsemen, especially Death.

Also, what do you think about Chuck disappearing at the end? And how he was dressed all in white, how Joshua said God was on Earth and they wouldn't be able to tell it's him... and how he said "Mistress Magda" over the phone by accident when Dean phoned? Similar to Mary Magdalene...

He wasn't? Aww yeah then, that's too bad! Have any of the actors been nominated, ever?

 Yeah I sure will, ahh I'm so impatient! :chuckle: Yeah I could/should be taking a break. My next exam is on Friday, and then the one after that is my last, next Monday. I'll just see how studying goes over the next few days and take it from there. To be honest I'm not worried about my Friday exam...

  10.

Yeah! I think something bad will happen to him but it'll be alright in the end, considering he's a regular next season. I think he'll either be an angel trying to clean up Heaven, or he'll be a fallen angel with the boys.

So I won't tell you! :chuckle:.

Strangely, I hadn't heard about the Harlem Shake before the Supernatural video. Then I looked up what it was referencing . It's only 30 seconds! ;)

He did answer! :p. Well, I count it as an answer, that he thinks Cas would fall. In terms of what he'd do if he were to have fallen - yeah he didn't answer that . Cas wouldn't really be a creepy homeless guy in a ratty trench coat... :shifty:

Oh, no worries :p I got everything! I hope you get some more sleep!

  11.

Yeah! I wonder what he's doing right now. Just chilling in Heaven maybe... since it's just him up there with all the human souls... or if he's plotting something big.

Me neither. I think they would still have most of their powers, but would gradually lose them if the Metatron situation isn't dealt with soon. Yeah, Cas looked heartbroken. I would love that for Crowley too :chuckle:. Exactly! :chuckle:

I love new Spock! I love old Spock too. It's an interesting but different take on him for sure. I'm still getting used to him and Uhura though, because old Spock would never have had a long-running romantic interest, I think. And yes, Benedict was awesome :awesome:

Probably! They've done Romulans, a human/the Federation, so next has got to be Klingons. I'm not sure how I feel about the new Klingons; they look pretty cool and sleeker but they're unfamiliar to me so they don't feel very Star Trek-y, if that makes sense.

I hadn't heard that! That's good timing; I think they've got enough time to make the movie by then so that would be a great release year. JJ Abrams again, perhaps? I don't know his current stance on directing Star Trek again.

  12.

Definitely! I think... it was better than him getting arrested...

Haha, I just figured out how to do spoilers :$

Ahh dear  but at least you liked them!

I might try to see them while in theatres, not sure yet...

It's going very well! Relaxing as I thought . Ate a lot of DQ ice cream cake last night :$ and I mean a LOT.

    How's yours going?

    Myth Busted! Nice. :yesey:

I was just watching Mythbusters actually... the one with the ninja catching arrows out of the air. :awesome:

  13.

I think I got it! So if you start this video at 0:37 and Execution Commentary at the beginning, the guitar solos and a bit else match up :chuckle:. Or maybe I'm too excited to find out how it works :$

  14.

Ahh you did! :p. Yep Rick does. Though Lori doesn't die before the prison...

FINALLY I'm up to season 2 of Supernatural . It's really really good! :awesome:. I'm watching about 3 episodes every night these days...

Thanks, I am! But they're all the way across the country...

  15.

AND CASTIEL IS HERE! :awesome: :awesome:

How many more episodes are there in season 7 for you?

  16.

Expectations are a powerful thing :p

Ahh, heard of some of those. It's a good list! Shape of Water was interesting. It was a really beautifully shot film. I'm still trying to figure out some of the symbolism though, like with the colours, I feel like there's definitely something to be said about the use of green and red. Green = toeing the company line and societal expectations, red = passion and individuality? Not sure how I feel about it overall though; I didn't really like the ending but I don't think it could have ended any other way given it's kind of an adult fairy tale.

I watched Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and that was really well done. Been trying to see more of the Oscar nominated movies before the awards with my mom so we're going to try and see Lady Bird soon.

    Okay, Black Mirror!

    1. Black Museum: definitely my favourite. The ending took me by surprise and it was pretty satisfying. I liked the format of how they showed the mini-stories throughout the episode but still tied them all together to make a compelling story. The guy who played Haynes was picked perfectly.

I don't know how to order Arkangel, Metalhead, and Crocodile (2-4):

Arkangel: this was one of those episodes where right from when they introduce the technology you can already guess the "bad" aspects that will happen and predict the ending, but at the same time it's technology that does seem like it could be invented in the future. I liked the parallel of the mother losing her daughter at the start, because she wasn't paying enough attention, vs. losing her daughter at the end, because she was paying too much attention.

Metalhead: When I watched this one I initially had no idea what to think about it. I don't think I really "got" it :p. But I talked to my brother and I think it grew on me. I think I'm used to Black Mirror episodes being used to show technology usually in social applications, whereas the robot dogs were assumedly some military tech gone wrong? So tonally it seemed pretty different. And on the surface you might think it's stupid for these people to risk their lives just to make the last moments of a dying child more comfortable, but I think what they were going for was showing the purely cold and calculated nature of the tech vs. the depths of human emotion and compassion. I liked the episode a lot more by thinking about it this way.

Crocodile: okay, the guinea pig at the end being used as a witness when the technology was already shown to be pretty shaky even when used on humans was kinda stupid. But otherwise I really liked this episode. It was kind of like Shut Up and Dance where the whole episode just keeps going downhill and even when you think it's done being dark it just gets even darker.

    5. USS Callister: this one was a bit of a let down for me. I felt the design of the game was really poor and it was just because of that that the characters were able to beat him the way they did. I would have thought he (as the game's designer and player) would have way more control over what happens in-game than he actually did. It had the potential to be a really good episode though.

    6. Hang the DJ: I think San Junipero was a way better take on romance and the light aspect of technology. Sometimes the reveal of "this is all a computer simulation!" is kinda cool but here it felt more like a disappointment because the whole purpose of the simulation was just for some dating app.

  17.

He will be coming back anyways XD. Same with the Ghostfacers. But if I recall correctly there is another person who will be coming back.

Thanks! You too! Ahh I see.

First day of proper snow today! :awesome:

  18.

I find him annoying. But at least the Leviathan storyline will FINALLY get moving. Hopefully. She's mainly known on the internet, like on youtube, I believe; she created/stars in a comedy "The Guild" which follows the in-game and regular lives of a group of avid gamers who play MMORPGs. Very nerdy :D

Speaking of gaming I've been playing a lot of those "choose your own adventure" type games like Zork recently...

Well, I got a job! I'm working at a bakery cafe as a server. Other than that, I'll be taking piano lessons, and near mid-August I'm finally going to Japan :awesome:

  19.

I wasn't too surprised by Zoe's death, well I mean I thought that she was getting too unruly and unpredictable and that he would have to do something about. I still cheered for Frank when it happened :shifty:

Yeah, really surprising! Also that Ty Olsson is the blue dragon from Dragon Tales - never going to get over that one :chuckle:

How have you been? School has been crazy for me so I haven't been online in a while!

  20.

Lucifer back! That would be interesting. I'd love for Gabriel to come back somehow.

    :awesome: Thanks!

Just finished putting my Christmas tree up. :xmas: Any plans for the holidays this year?

  21.

She didn't. Unless I have a really bad memory!

Yeah . But it's SO GOOD. It's worth all those hours :awesome:. Ohhh YES he is! I can't wait to see how that they're going to kill him now that he's got the Colt.

It's cool too because since it's filmed in Vancouver, there are all sorts of places that I recognize! One scene I recognized that they were sitting in my physics classroom at university! 99% sure. And one scene was in front of the Chemistry building... anyways, I really hope I can see them in person one day :awesome:. Who's your favourite character from the first/early second seasons?

Ahh well, I've got plenty of years left ;)

  22.

That whole sequence with him and Shane going to get medical supplies never happened

Aww really? Darn... that is a real shame. Wow, only three...

Have you seen the last episode?

It looks so good!!!! :awesome: Do you think it'll be darker than the second?

Aww jeez, yeah that's painful! Lots of people then? Well perhaps that was to your benefit since A7X was really the only band you were looking forward to ;). Sounds like you were still in the thick of things!

  23.

Those are all good points. I can certainly see why they wanted to do it in a montage because I can't think of where they could have fit in the time to go more in depth. I think it's more just personally I was really interested to see more of how they decoded it and was let down by the quick summary of the actual decoding.

Yeah I think I'll be skipping over Iron Fist. I haven't actually enjoyed a lot of the Marvel shows :$. Apparently Daredevil is supposed to be really good but I couldn't get into it.

Yeah I'm sure we have (sorry :$), I know we talked about the movie way back near it got announced but I didn't remember your answer. I know it's contraversial but I'm not really bothered by the "whitewashing" here because Deathnote is a story that's not intrinsically Japanese; it can be adapted anywhere and still have all the same themes and story that makes it Deathnote. They were very clear this is an adaptation and have based it in Seattle, and have changed the names of the characters, so it's not like they're basing it in Japan and still making obviously Japanese characters non-Asian. Yeah I'm definitely looking forward to being able to watch it at home, there've been some annoying moviegoers at my last few outings :noey:. Dafoe was SO perfectly cast. Based on the trailers I still can't tell how they're going to present him though, like in all CGI or some mix. Not sure if you're aware of the chip-eating scene but it definitely has to be in the movie...

Definitely, ignoring the last bit of the trailer, IT looks great. I'm about a 1/4 way through the book myself. In the middle of finals right now though so not likely going to finish it soon.

  24.

Yeah, I wondered that too. Maybe she thought Quinn, while terrible, at least was able to protect her, and she would be kept safe/alive since Quinn knew he was relying on her for the treatment? I can tell :p

    Thanks!

Ahh I see - console peasants, the lot of you! :phu::chuckle: I will admit I've probably been assimilated. Except, as I said, when it comes to my Nintendo. Still waiting on getting a Switch though, I'd like to see more games.

I hope I'm not overhyping him for you, but yeah, he was fantastic. Also Prometheus is voiced by Michael Dorn which is pretty great. I'd consider him juuuust edging Deathstroke out, personally. I'm curious what they'll do next season with the flashbacks since they're now all caught up with timeline of the show. I agree, about the writing and the repetitive villain on the Flash... and not even how they all have twist identities, I hope the next villain just isn't a speedster like always. They seem to not know how to challenge Team Flash with anything but speedsters for the big bads and it's getting tiring.

  25. ... even Overdue! Not, say, Hate This And I'll Love You, though.

    You're welcome!

 Okay, okay, I'll do one one of these days!

Ahh, but Grant likes Star Trek. He would sooner side with me, and he wouldn't listen to you :phu:

    :chuckle:

Star Trek certainly has been around for a long time! I haven't seen recent episodes of the Simpsons, but I'll take your word for it. I'd love more movies, but no more series. There's enough material out there already.

They might sign on to more! *very very hopeful*

Yes! As I said, they're really fun to read

I don't actually like their look with the masks... if they do choose Klingons as the enemy I hope they are done away with. It's very un-Star Trek - I've never heard of/seen them in masks. He did, over two years ago :(. Of course you can ask me! You know I love talking about Star Trek . Don't worry about it :D.

They wouldn't really mess up the film series, but they'd mess up Star Trek as a whole, if that makes sense. The Borg and the Federation aren't even supposed to know about each other until over a hundred years after the 2009 Star Trek movie was set (the movie was set in the 2250's or 2260's, and the Borg are supposed to appear in the 2360's). Also, the only reason they found out about the Federation was because a multidimensional entity named Q messed around with the space-time continuum, and he doesn't appear until way later as well (besides, they wouldn't bring him back into the movie because the actor looks quite a bit older, but he's the only one who could play Q. He's an awesome character). I know that yes, these new movies are based in an "alternate reality", but introducing the Borg would be a bit of stretch. Lastly, if the Federation was to find out about the Borg a hundred years earlier than they should have, then lots of the plot behind later Star Trek TV series wouldn't matter any more.

That's good :chuckle: because you guessed correctly, another long reply from me :p

There probably would be! I wouldn't use it though, I'd rather age naturally.
