Hello! Welcome to the boards! I see you play cello. There is definitely a connection between Muse and classical music. I have a Bachelor of Music, but mine is in singing. I sang with some choirs/orchestras in Dayton and Charlotte, NC. Who have you played with? This is my first time joining a board and seeing what that is all about and it's been really fun! Only 10 days until the concert - you will have so much fun!! Lora

Hi Lora! Sarah's COSI MUSE fantasy is pretty good...it involves being locked in a submarine with Muse....lol. (ok I added the locked part... but it'd be a really good place to be;))

Hey Lora, I am still learning how to navigate these forums and message pages...a few days ago I posted a response to your message on MY page, but I think I'm supposed to put it HERE. duh. So here it is...copied and pasted! (Oh, and I also posted one to Gretchen...but really I wish it could go to both of you at the same time...'cause I think you would also find my COSI-MUSE fantasy funny, as well! " : )
Cool! Where are your seats for Cincinnati? Mine is in Section 128. For the Detroit show, I lined up at 4:30pm because that's when the parking lot opened, and there was nowhere nearby to park and walk to the stadium. There were about 150 people already there....not bad! I ended up with a spot right in the center, about 6 people back from the barricade...it was awesome!!!! I hadn't been to a concert for many MANY years (except taking the girls to see Miley Cyrus) so I read these forums to learn what to do, and what to expect. So for Columbus, I guess it depends on those things: what time parking lot opens, or if there's a place to park somewhere else, etc. Also, I'll be keeping an eye on this forum to see when others are going to line up. I think that even if it's raining or snowing, I'm gonna want to get there early enough for a chance to be wwwwaaaaayyyyy up in front! Whew, I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
I got a bunch of tickets, some GA and some seats, in case my husband, kids, or any friends, would want to go. I do have 2 friends from Parkersburgh, WV, that will be coming, but don't know if they'll want the seat tickets or GA.
My 10-year old daughter, Antonia, is slowly turning into a Muse fan. Last night she and I watched YouTube videos of Matt going nuts...there was one of him swinging his guitar around by the strap and then he let it go up in the air, and it landed on Dom. I'm laughing now just writing about it! Antonia likes stuff like that. So if she wants to go, I have a great seat ticket for her...section 106. And my husband would want a seat, too, if he comes.
What is a board shirt?! Sounds fun! And I'm up for an "older" Muser gathering anytime!

Ok, now I've found a handful of us over 30, so we will have fun together at the shows! Tell your wife she should go too! November is so very far away!

Hello! Hey, I'm doing GA for Col and seats for Cincy too! What time do you plan to line up for the Col show? I really don't think I can handle getting there in the morning. Especially if it is raining/snowing. I was thinking more like 2pm. You? Are you getting a board shirt? Gretchen and I will, but I'm still trying to figure out what to put on the back before ordering! Is your hubby going to the shows with you? Are you taking your girls? Gretchen is taking her 8 year old, but I'm leaving mine with my parents for the weekend. My 6 year old is mad, but I don't want to have to worry about them and want to concentrate on the awesome experience of seeing MUSE twice!! I totally think we should have a get together for the "older" Muse fans at some point, but will wait until it gets closer to plan anything!

Hi Lora!
Unfortunately my wife doesn't go with me. My daughter actually turned me on to Muse back in late 2004 and I've been a huge fan ever since. We generally go to the concerts together, but I happened to be in Philly this year and was able to see the show there in March. It was incredible and I can't wait for the show here!
I kind of pride myself in generally being the oldest one at most of the concerts I go to! I must have been twice the age of everyone else at the Von Bondies concert at the Basement last year!
Hopefully we'll get to meet you, your hubby and all the other boardies before the show in Nov!

Hello! I see you are also in Dublin and are going to the Columbus show in November! And I see you were at the Lifestyles show back in 2006. That was the first (and only) time I saw them and it was incredible! Does your wife go with you to shows and love Muse too?! My hubby is a big fan although he is tiring of my complete obsession lately! I need to relax a bit until we get closer to November! It's good to see I won't be the only one over 30! lol!

Hi! I got GA for the Feb. Atlanta gig after some hesitation. (You know, I'm 40, not the strongest person in the world, what if I have to pee, yada yada yada). Ultimately I decided if I didn't at least go for it, I'd regret it for the rest of my life! Also, I figured if I had a bad time or got injured, either at least I'd know for next time, or it would all be worth it for Muse anyway.
However, once I was actually there, it was AMAZING! I'll probably never have seats now! I did the research (on that thread, mostly) and went into it expecting the worst, and it was a breeze! I had plenty of space to move and it wasn't rough at all. I was on the barrier, on Matt's side, but near the middle. Also, I was so worried about having to pee, but I figured the worst that could happen is that I have to leave and lose my spot. As it turns out, once I was there and the music started, I wasn't even really aware of my body. Sounds weird... But honestly, it couldn't have been a better experience. I don't think I'm talking out of turn if I say in general the US pits have been very manageable (and some actually kinda lame), and it's more the UK/European and South American crowds that can get pretty rough. I bought a GA ticket for the upcoming MN show and didn't think twice about it. (Now I'm just more worried about the logistics of actually getting there!)
Good luck with what you decide!

LOL, I'd like to think I can still handle it, but I'd probably have to pee 50 times and never make it back to where I was. Go for it, someone has to show the younger generation we still have it in us! haha. My hubby thinks Im a dork anyway, lol. Hes not that into Muse, but hears it all the time with me and Rachael around. hehe. Im thinking that seeing them live will blow his mind and he will finally get it. haha. I like the "obsessed with MUSE", lol or addicted 2 Muse, or how about "I tried to give (them) up...but Im addicted....." lol It looks like one sleeve suggest user name, but there is also room on the other too.

Hello! I was reading a GA vs seats thread and saw you on there. I'm 39 and a stay at home Mom. So, did you end up doing GA or not? I did for a smaller MUSE show 3 years ago, but now I'm having second thoughts about the Columbus gig. I have seats and GA and can't decide, but my friend wants to buy whichever I don't use and I can't make up my mind. Any advice?!

haha! My creative brain wasn't working either! I saw a few pics of people with them, but never saw their backs. I want to have something on there if that is free to add print on the back. I like the idea of MUSE and then dates/cities. I was going to just put "Yes, I am obsessed with MUSE!" lol! Still deciding. My hubby will probably think I'm a dork for getting one, but oh well! If I do GA, I gotta have it. I'm still debating on GA for Columbus. If I had better seats, I'd stay in my seats. I can handle GA at 39 years old, can't I????
