Glasto '04 is really overrated. Not to say that it wasn't a great, legendary gig for the band, because it was. But, like I've said before, Muse from '98-'04ish had some really questionable factors in their performances, mostly things with tempo and mic distortion choices. It was a great gig, and a big piece of Muse "history" and something that has obviously shaped them as musicians today, but you can compare some of the stuff from '04 and '10, and see how much they've grown as a band and as individual musicians. As far as musicanship itself goes, 2010 was a better gig. Say what you will about the setlist, but the '04 setlist was essentially the same idea. The big singles, a lot of Absolution (newest album release) stuff, and a one or two "rarities" at the time. Same can be said for 2010, except bring it into the Resistance era. Take out Stockholm Syndrome and the following riffage/destruction and Glasto '04 doesn't seem as great.

How about TiRO? I wonder what performance of what song would make you feel this way?

Which is what I was saying when I said "solid" :LOL; I thought the cover was above average. Their energy was great, and both parties were obviously having a good time. That's what's important.

i thought the glasto setlist was solid, and nobody who wasn't there should whine over it too much..

Things don't have to be complex or hard to play to be perfect. I think its simplicity is what makes it so beautiful. And it also has a level of emotion that KoC or CoD don't have.

I knew I couldn't be the only one!! And me being the one who plays music, alone or in a group, that bothers me to no end. I can't really listen to Hullabaloo without cringing or skipping songs alltogether. Thank god they've improved since!! *mumblesunderbreath*butthenewborntempochangestillneedspractice <_<

Muse's early stuff (99-02ish) has awful tempo and almost makes me cringe at times. This is mostly Matt's fault, rushing the hell out of intros.

If Muse were to get the crowd going for Uprising like this for every show, like the way the crowd sings the riff in KoC, then I'd be more than happy to see it stay in the setlists for setlists in future tours. [YT] [/YT]

I thought this was directed at me. I get it. And I do agree. I think there's a line between respect and like for them as a band, but that's a different argument. But anway, opinions are healthy and we should all have them, positive or negtive. Yay, the end, lol. My head hurts.

Shit, I am so bad at phrasing things. I didn't mean it like that either. I don't care if you hate BHAR and TR. (I get tired of them on occasion too. Trust me.) It's the second part of your post. The "RIP Muse" and the "OMG, what happened to them? SELLOUTS!! BLASPHEMY!!! " people who I'm talking about. And the incessant posts of this all over the boards.

Eh. I like Boston too much to live in Canada.
(I seem to say "eh" alot though. )
I was in Loge 14, row 4, right under Matt's little peninsula there. (Meaning I got the SMBH guitarsex in my face... ) Twas great. The best concert I've ever been to. But I would've gotten a ticket to the bathrooms if I meant seeing Muse.

I definitely understand what you're saying. And for the most part, you are 100% correct. But there are a select few who insist on the whole "everything post-Absolution Tour is just terrible sell-out Muse." If you know what I mean. Opinions are great! But why bother being on the boards if you hate what Muse is now?

I'm not saying not to have an opinion. As fans, we do know what is good and bad in our opinion when it comes to songs/setlists/other stuff, and we have the right to express what we think of it. It's the "fans" who complain about every single thing for sake of complaining. There wasn't enough variety in the setlists, so the band added some new songs. But the songs weren't enough because they were doing the polls. So they are trying/are probably getting around to getting some new songs into the sets. But this is probably a timely process because of the light show. And then somebody will complain that it's taking to long, so they should just play a song without the lights. But then somebody else would complain that the song was boring without the light show. And then the "no matter what" fan would tell them to stop complaining. (This is obviously just a scenario, maybe exaggerated... but you get the point.) There's no issue with saying "I don't like this and this." Okay, good for you! You have an opinion. But when people say "I hate this, this, this, this, this, this, this, and everything else... RIP Muse, you've been going downhill since Glasto '04." It's just obnoxious. You see what I'm trying to say? You can have your opinion, and I agree about some of the things people have to say. But the people who are NEVER satisfied... they drive me crazy. Muse aren't bad people. Getting lazy? Yeah, maybe. But that doesn't mean that we have to bitch about every move they make- they're trying. They're here to entertain us, not to please their mostly-whiny messageboard.

Dunno if this is controversial. The riffage/bassline at the end of Recess is better than most of Muse's stuff.

I don't get how some people can listen to Muse and be a member of a fansite, and then have more complaints about them than someody who actually dislikes/criticizes the band.
