  1. personally i think the touring and traveling is the best part of it to them, so it wouldnt surprise me at all if they did things simply for that motivation
  2. I think Muse has lots of artistic momentum going on between albums still. All of their albums always have a common "theme" to them whether it be lyrically, musically, what have you. Saying something like " The 2nd Law felt more like 12 songs that enabled them to go out on the road again, rather than an album they desperately needed to get out of their system" I think does disservice to them. The 2nd Law is about energy consumption (for the most part), if you ask me, that's not something a band just "gets off their chest" for the sake of making music. I'd imagine a lot went into it. It sounds like for the most part you're just jaded about their musical direction over the last two albums, and a lot of fans would agree with you on that part. But with that topic, that's a to each his own situation. On the topic of timing, there's no right/wrong way or time to produce/write and tour. Considering their global presence and what i think is still very high quality touring (the inclusion of more "oldies" and continued superb visual effects on this tour has really reinvigorated them it seems) they do just fine. You can never please everyone and your opinion is totally fine and probably common, but it just is what it is. and for the record id be totally fine with getting new songs more often, but hey. Whatcha gonna do.

  4. great interview. always fun to get inside their thoughts when it comes to set selection and the amount of thought put into each song. they definitely have very specific guidelines when it comes to what they want to perform
  5. very interesting. always nice to hear perspectives. ever more curious about this 20th anniversary tour. it seems its definitely not 100% yet, but unforutnately does seem apparent that unless you live in England you're gonna have to travel far to make it. i imagine if its hyper selective members on the .mu boards will have first access, with maybe some type of contest to determine winners.
  6. yeah tad early. we dont even know when theyll finish touring. all guessing games at this point. id wait until the last date to start
  7. absolutely. i STILL hold out hope that HAARP will be re-released in Blu Ray one day
  8. if they are indeed doing a live release soon i think itd be cool to do a combo of songs being played from The Resistance Tour and the current tour. lots of goodies to be shared.
  9. Given all your facts, it makes a stadium tour in the summer for America very plausible. I think the demand in the big markets would definitely be big enough for places like LA, NY and maybe Vegas or another area or two. Plus when you look at the way they play their stadium tour now they play 4 shows in the UK, 3 in Italy and France and most other countries only get 1 or 2 gigs. If they were to tour for stadium gigs here i imagine something like playing 4-5 shows in the US, one in Mexico and 2-3 in Canada. I think that would absolutely be profitable (unless like you said the transportation is really expensive). I think the fanbase here has been growing and with another album release that has a song with "Madness" like popularity, could really get it going. We'll just have to wait and see. Regardless, I'm planning on going to Europe on the next tour to see them there to get in on this madness

  11. the pre sales seem to give out only certain sections. i usually buy seated tickets in a way many would consider dicey but its always worked. i wait until 5 days or so before the concert and keep track of how much the seats cost on stubhub.com as people will get desperate to sell and drop their prices considerably, then you swoop in and get them
  12. any muser would definitely reccomend the pit, but there are multiple experiences you can have in there. you can try to be at the barrier in the thick of things, in the middle where people stand and jump a little or hang toward the back where you can just stand and enjoy. being 5'7 offers a nice advantage, youll be able to see over a good amount of people. if you plan to be in the pit (which would invole waiting on line during the day) i would definitely reccomend 1) being well hydrated and eating a meal high in carbs for energy 2) CLOSED SHOES 3) dont have any bags or anything to carry 4)be prepared to have people shoved into you Muse crowds, even at their most intense and closest to the stage dont get THAT out of control. id say the heaviest moment ive experienced was being at the barrier in Chicago and during Hysteria a lot of people were leaning and jumping so it got a tad rocky. id say it was a 7/10 in terms of "how crazy it was". if you take those precautions and skim the thread and read others i think youll be well prepared, and personally i think a pit experience for a muse concert would be an excellent first time
  13. yeah they can definitely play the festival regardless. im sure the festival execs know how much more revenue they could bring in if they got an "absolution show" so theyll try to get that
  14. as much as id like to be positive about that chance i have to say it is highly unlikely. unless they were holding an "Abso Concert" in the US and UK (since Abso actually was well received here whereas OOS was only officially released here like 2 years ago). even then, small chance
  15. has anyone worked out good settings for the tremolo solo at the end of Easily? been fiddling around with it this morning to no avail
  16. ya that shouldnt be too bad. i arrived at a show with a friend and people that we didnt know invited us on to the line cause they were all trying to stay warm so we joined them. no one said anything so we just stayed there. but if anyone ever speaks up, just apologize and move to the back to avoid hostilities
