  1. The hellouniverse page has updated - confirming the venue as Bukit Kiara Equestrian Resort and suggesting there is a GoLive presale happening tomorrow 2pm before the main onsale at 10am Friday.... But the sound of tumbleweed in the muse.mu members' area! https://www.hellouniverse.asia/
  2. Does anyone know if there will be a presale for the KL show in July? Very little info so far (show not yet posted on the ticketing website https://www.ticket2u.com.my/, and venue not listed either). There's a festival in KL the weekend before with The Strokes and The 1975 (Good Vibes festival, at the Sepang circuit)... wonder if it might take place there.
  3. Thank you for linking to that SCMP article - nice piece! I somehow managed to get myself to all three China shows and I thought: - Beijing had the best setlist (Animals, Map and SS) - Shanghai had the best sound quality, and best crowd response - HK was basically a party, due to being all standing All great fun in different ways.
  4. Some quick thoughts on last night's awesome gig in Beijing.... - One of the liveliest crowds I've known in China (rivalling Metallica in Shanghai in 2014), most of the (almost sell-out) audience seemed to be on their feet throughout - Muse picked a great set list: most of the staples, a few good rarities (never expected to hear Animals and Map of the Problematique at this one!) - Sound wasn't brilliant (it's a basketball arena with pretty poor acoustics), and the local sound people don't have many live shows to get practice. But Muse with half the mid frequencies missing is still much better than most other bands on a good day. Interestingly, it seemed particularly bad during Stockholm Syndrome, which seemed to fall a bit flat for the first time ever. - Uprising (and The Resistance generally) seemed to be the only real casualty of the setlist restrictions. Was genuinely amazed to see Reapers, Citizen Erased and Animals; many others were surprised by Knights of Cydonia being permitted. Nice touch by Tom to get the screens to zoom in on the local crowd singing "You and I must fight for our rights" - On balance it was probably the right show to bring out Feeling Good; it went down really well. Had been hoping for Can't Take My Eyes off You as well! - Matt and co seemed on good form, and genuinely taken aback by the crowd response. He got a huge cheer for saying "Xie xie" (thank you) and "Wo ai ni Beijing" (I love you Beijing). - All in all, one of the best concerts ever in China, in my extremely biased opinion!
  5. So will this gig be going ahead? Muse are pretty much the last band standing of all the acts planning to visit China this autumn (Maroon 5 and Bon Jovi "cancelled due to some reason" and Robbie Williams pulling out of his Asia tour). Fingers remain crossed but a ticket for HK has been purchased as a contingency!
  6. Yes he was on TMS during the Adelaide test during (I think) the last Ashes tour. He complained that their tour schedule only allowed him to see one match! The previous tour, Muse, U2 and the England v Australia match all took place in Perth the same weekend - would have been an amazing time to visit.
  7. Just back from a weekend at Fujirock. It was a great performance as always but left me feeling... less satisfied than usual. The flow didn't seem as good as previous Muse gigs, and too many songs sounded a little similar to each other. I think the main problem is that the current set has Dead Inside (similar to Madness), Mercy (similar to Starlight) and Psycho (similar to Uprising). It would be a great tour to rest those older ones, even though it would be brave of them not to play two of their biggest hits. BTW Foo Fighters played a full 2 hour set, but they just didn't get through many songs - a lot of talking to the crowd and doing extended jams in almost every song.
  8. Ah... there's a couple of useful comments on the thread under the entry for the HK gig in the Tour section of the website. All sorted now
  9. Still no sign of the concert on http://www.hkticketing.com EDIT: I just spoke to someone at HK ticketing who said there should be a link for people with presale codes... I have a code but I don't have a link.... any ideas?
  10. Coming over from China (booked tickets before they announced dates here - but hey their setlist is likely to get chopped to pieces in Beijing!)
  11. The lists of approved songs for the China gigs are circulating on Weibo (China's version of Twitter/Facebook). I won't link to it due to the spoiler issues but if you search for MUSE (and can understand Chinese) you should be able to find it.
  12. The show listing has disappeared from the Damai site. Trying to find out more details from a journalist friend at That's Shanghai. [EDIT] it reappeared and tickets went on sale... I now have some The optimist in me is hoping that the inevitable China setlist restrictions means there will be some rarities in the set. The pessimist in me thinks that they will play a shorter set.
  13. Onsale date has gone to TBC - a concern. Will keep my ears peeled...
