99% of people are letting kvlt music die! repost if you are in the 1% that still listens to kvlt music

  3. What about Garvey, Jarvis et al?

I like the banter but I'm not huge on the music they play

what else can you honestly take away from this? fans are so quick to jump onto the thought that R1 hates/has something against Muse, when it's even stupid to think that such a huge radio station would dislike anyone. They play what's selling and what manages to chart. As far as I know, Panic Station didn't even chart and that's probably why they didn't play it.

I just posted what else someone could take from it. I would imagine that it's possible that regardless of the size of an entity they could still dislike a band, although I'm not saying that is necessarily what is happening. Do Don Broco, BMTH and whatever grime R1 is playing this week chart well? I don't know if they do or not.

  4. Radio 1 have never said that Muse's music isn't good enough in terms of quality. They said that their music doesn't fit in with the demographic they are catering to and what's currently popular music. All this R1 person is saying that if Muse take a less ~mainstream direction that they might not get played on R1 because they just wouldn't fit in. end of

yall need to learn how to read and stop jumping to conclusions

that isn't actually what they "said" though, that's just what you've inferred from it. Their newest releases have been by far the most accessible stuff they've ever put out so that line of thought doesn't really make sense to me. Panic Station in particular really doesn't sound a million miles away from a lot of the music R1 plays. I would imagine that people have generalized the green day comment which says that they are "not good enough" to muse as well, which isn't entirely unreasonable.

  5. Someone else's opinion on this would probably differ to mine but I would class a guitar as an actual instrument and a keyboard not an actual instrument. I am aware people who do make music on a laptop would say 'this is my instrument' but let's face it. It's not.

might not be an instrument but the scope of musical possibility is far larger than it is with any selection of traditional instruments. I used to think the same thing as you until I heard Amon Tobin's stuff and got into IDM and trip-hop and electronic music in general.

  6. I would imagine it seems ridiculous since they have artists that are generally considered to be worse than Muse on playlists yet they are trying to present it as though they have some kind of stringent quality control system.

That said there hasn't been a DJ on proper radio that has consistently played good/interesting music since Peel.

  7. It's because the most vocal NME readers feel the best way to show how much they think they like their music is by insulting what other people like, and they're the same people who won't be able to justify what they enjoy or why someone else shouldn't enjoy something, they'll just make "witty" comments about it.

  8. It's got a bunch of crappy synth stuff going on, as well as being completely pointless. Play the whole thing or don't bother with it at all.

I'd say it works really well live. Certainly impressed me at Wembley. Isn't all music completely pointless in a way? All it does is entertain, and I found Exo 1 entertaining live.

  9. Way to disregard the point just because the statement is still true. DOUCHE.

And some people like saying how they feel without censorship. That's just life, deal with it.

And how is that anybody's fault but the person reading the thread?

Well in the post Dee addressed you didn't distinguish that you were talking solely about other people and not yourself too, so I guess you're even.

    Okay, you win.

I'm sorry. I just like arguing with people.

  10. I guess this makes music reviewers douches who should just shut up?

    Most of the time, yes.

Why would you read threads about gigs if you didn't want to know these things?

It's like reading a thread for a book and then complain because it discussed the ending which you hadn't read yet.

What Dee said is still relevant...

Just replace "you" with every fan who risk reading negative comments when coming here. Oh wait...he didn't even say "you". What is the problem?

Hey, some people like talking about things they enjoy or are looking forward to.

It's like reading a thread for a book which discusses all the plot-holes before you read the book, yes.

The short sentence before was addressed to me and there was no paragraphing or any other means of distinguishing that there was any difference between the focal point of the previous sentence and the focal point of the sentence after that. You can hardly tell me off for poor reading comprehension when someone's grammar is wonky.
