Personal Information

  • Biography
I study social movements, and will hopefully have my PhD in hand soon. Then, who knows?

I played classical flute for a million years before abandoning it to geek out a bit as a renaissance recorder player. Now I'm back to flute again, but am wishing I played dobro instead.

Other than music, food in all its capacities is the secondmost primary focus of my existence. I am fortunate to live on an island where cattle, pigs, and chickens run (semi-) wild and free, and there is an abundance of goat cheese, honey, garlic, and swiss chard. Sadly, there are no cocoa plantations but apparently a local distillery is in the works, so at least there's that. Too bad we'll be moving before that manifests.

I generally surround myself with living things- but while I love animals, I prefer plants because they are so much quieter. My 85 pound sulcata tortoise Attila is pretty quiet, too, so he's my current favorite.

  1. Just a little funny story ... I was just having lunch at a little cafe here on Whidbey where I live, and the 18 year old behind the counter put BHR in the CD player and began singing along. When I asked if he was going to the concert April 2nd, he got all excited and said he didn't know they were coming to Seattle- I asked how it was possible that he DIDN'T know about it, and he said that they *used* to be his favorite band but that that was during his angsty period. I had to laugh.
  2. So, it turns out that I DO have two GA tix available- can you believe that my friends decided they "didn't really want to go"?!!! Geesh. I'll post 'em on MuseBay but thought I'd put them up here, just in case any of you- or your friends who are cooler than mine- want first dibs. They're $49.50 apiece. Quick question, though- my tickets all list the Section as GA, then the Row as GA2, and then each has a seat numbered 47 thru 50. Any ideas what the GA 2 and seat #'s mean? For those of you who have GA tickets, do yours look similar? (I'm sure it's an obvious answer but I could only find decaf coffee in my cupboard today, so that's my excuse).
  3. Got my tix yesterday and joined the FB group today ... am beyond excited! And also I might have two extra GA tix for the show, if any of you know someone(s) who might be looking. I'll post them on MuseBay as soon as I know for sure ...
