  1. The Branagh Hamlet really is beautiful. There's some bits where it being the full text means it kind of plods along, but the cinematography and acting more than make up for any lulls.

If you like Shakespeare related things, I'd highly suggest reading the comic series/graphic novels Kill Shakespeare. I don't want to say much and possibly spoil it but Shakespeare is a Wizard-God and his characters are at war with each other. King Richard III and Lady Macbeth are the leaders of one side; Juliet and Othello are the leaders of the other; stuck in the middle is Hamlet. It's a beautifully drawn book and the writing, while not in iambic pentameter, does a good job of faking it.

  2. I mentioned a couple in the thread. Hamlet (1996) and Othello (1995) are very good. Scotland, PA is a reimaging of Macbeth set at a fast-food restaurant.

If you like reading, William Shakespeare's Star Wars is worth a look. It's a parody as much as a tribute.

  3. Just read your list of favorite Shakespeare adaptations in the last film you watched thread and all I can say is "Marry Me?" :p

You hit nearly all my favorites and more importantly WHY they're my favorites.

  4. Setlist whinging ensuing in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
  5. 1) What do you think it is about your music that your fans connect to that makes them so dedicated to you? 2) Given all the platforms there are to experience and interact with music, what do you think is the best way to enjoy yours?
  6. As an in-between main Muse albums I'd like Chris and Dom to do an album together. Or at least release an EP of studio recordings of the various drum and bass jams.
  7. I'm still trying to process last night. It was my 10th time seeing the band so I'm used to certain things at this point, but they still managed to impress me. One thing I can say for sure is that while I'm glad they played "The Globalist" in full and I got to hear it, I think it would be better if they dropped it and put 2 5-minute songs in its place. Seeing it live just re-enforced my initial feelings upon listening to it on the album which is that the middle heavy section is the best part. If the whole song were that heavy section throughout, it would've been my top song of the album. Will write more later after I have more time to reflect.
  8. Even though I have seats, I'm gonna try come to the GA line when I get there and try to find you.
  9. Don't say that Jess! The show is going to be amazing. Of the times I've seen Muse at Oracle they haven't disappointed. Now if this were Arco/Sleep Train/Whatever it's called in Sacramento, then I'd be worried. We're at the 12 hour mark everyone!!
  10. Where you at in the seats Jess? I'm in section 110. I decided to get a seated ticket off more to the side nearer the wings to get a better view of the stage set up. Plus I think I'll have a good view of the center of the stage to be able to see Dom.
  11. Got myself a last minute (for me) seated ticket. Early Christmas present to myself. Going to go enjoy the show and overpriced arena alcohol.

Looks like a lot of the guesses in the song thread regarding the lyrics from the cell phone vids were a bit off. Love this song. So happy I got to hear it live before album release.

:'( It's beautiful. Can't wait for next week (even though we've already heard half the album ).
  14. Those set times are near perfect. Wish they would've switched Of Monsters and Men with Florence + The Machine. Florence into Muse would've made me so happy. Still, really excited to be going to this. Looking forward to having a great Saturday.
  15. Yeah! Muser party in the Loge section!!:party:
  16. The side stage is GA even though the main stage is majority seated correct?
  17. For people who have been to Weenie Roast before, do set times get announced before the show or on the day of?
  18. As of right now my feeling towards this is very meh. This song is probably going to take time to grow on me (if it ever does). From what we've heard so far I think this is the weakest song. I know this is a cellphone recording, but nothing really stands out to me as memorable or "ear worm" material. All that said there is some interesting instrumentation going on, but the pieces don't really seem to fit as a whole.
  19. #DeadStarForWeenieRoast #InYourWorldForWeenieRoast (Why should the Mayan get all the fun? Surely the boys could carry over one rarity to the next day. )
