Yeah doesn't look like Bristol is happening. Bit rubbish that they announced they were doing it, and then just silently dropped the show without saying why.

TBH best stadium I've seen gigs in is the Millennium Stadium but Muse have never bothered playing it. No idea where this Bristol show disappeared to so London it is.

Can almost guarantee now we won't get any of the rarity stuff on the Sky Arts coverage given that they only show a few songs. Bet they'll show something like Psycho/PIB/Knights.

I downloaded about 5 "different" leaks and they were all varying degrees of awful compared to the official release. I mean, it's not the best mixed album but it's twice as good as the leak versions I had. The mixing on the drums is the biggest issue for me, the snare sounds pretty lifeless on some of the tracks.

I kinda like the abrupt transition from the heavy part to the piano section.

The leak was ripped horribly so it was nice to PROPERLY listen to the album. Just having the official version has turned the album from a 6/10 to an 8/10 for me. Whoever the guys were on here saying not to expect the actual release to sound any better than the leak need new ears.

They should just do away with choruses for the next album.

So are the clipping/mix/dynamics ect. issues actually on the proper mastered tracks and not just a result of how the leak was ripped?

Nah. It's normally a result of how the track is mastered... or hopefully in the case of the leak, whoever ripped the audio did a bad job.

Listen to the start of The Globalist and tell me the clipping isn't obvious on all the whistling parts.

Well that happens, "volume wars" ect. but I'm talking severe clipping. Not even Death Magnetic clipped as bad as some parts of this leak.

The rip sounds different to the official versions on YT and Spotify I've heard and there's glaring clipping issues in quite a few songs.

Can't really complain because I've had a chance to listen to the album early but I can't face a second listen now. Will wait until I get it Monday.

I've downloaded 3 versions including a "FLAC" version which someone has obviously converted over from the MP3 leak. Godammit leaker, if you're gonna do it, do it right, I actually can't even force myself to listen to this with the quality this bad.

So is there actually a different version of the leak or is there just one terrible sounding version?

Yeah, the guitar seemed to be overpowering a lot in the mix on multiple songs for me....

The most obvious part which made me think it's a dodgy rip was on the start of The Globalist, there's really bad clipping on the whistled parts for me...

Not sure if there are different versions of the leak floating about but the version I have is horrific. There's clipping all over the place and the mixes on some of the songs just sound too weird to be a style choice to me....

Is it just the copy I acquired or is there quite a lot of clipping on this album? Especially pronounced on the whistling part on The Globalist and most of Revolt Hoping it's just the leak....

I was sat for most of the gig. Didn't really know the etiquette to be honest, I've been to 100s of gigs but never sat at a rock gig before. Also +1 on the sound, sounded amazing. Was really surprised at how good it was in there.

Such a brilliant night! Was on the right hand side on the small band of side facing seats! Shame my phone's camera isn't the best for gigs, my girlfriend has some brilliant ones but I don't have them yet. Assassin was a highlight for me, never thought I'd see that one live. Not too sure on the new one at the end.... Edit: Also, I recorded the last one on my phone but it cut before the end because of my battery! ... and the quality is probably rubbish anyway.

I know there used to be on the street parking around where Le Pub is but it is very limited. Not sure if that's changed in the year or so since I was last there.

 I think my Girlfriend and I will be eating in Cardiff before going to the show to minimise the amount of time spent actually in Newport.
