Pictures of your gear III: Pics or it's a Soldano
Don'tPostThePear replied to james90's topic in Kit & Tab
Here's the "secret" to my gear photos: - use a shit digital cam (older panasonics had a really noisy ccd) - turn up the contrast and saturation - blend a red/green gradient map with the original photo - do that dark edges/vignette effect stuff or optional fish eye too - add some noise It will look kinda like this: From now on i will use a Lomo i think, it sounds fun, you can get a DIY kit for like 10$.- 4,042 replies

He should have showed us the animato without the background music. It is hard to separate the harmonics from the guitar and the bass in my head. Naturally there should be a lot of over lapping frequencies. Btw that Akai pedal is a cool envelope filter but the filter itself sounds a bit weird to me. Is that a digital effect or digitally controlled analog?
-
But the goop almost look like an integral part of the effect (gives protection and maybe makes it beer resistant or something) i think you would damage the resale value. Btw is there a good demo of that pedal anywhere? Or maybe a demo with a guitar?

Signal chain from right to left is: Octave down (for brutalz)-->escobedo pwm fuzz (for square wave)-->escobedo korg ms10 filter (for wobs)-->chorus (for detuned oscillator fatness /maybe i should have tried it first in the chain for a more real synth like setup/) The bare pcb thing with the pots on the breadboard is the hearth of the whole thing, an LFO which controls the filter, i am still deciding on features but i think it will worth a post if it will get finished.- 4,042 replies

is there a difference between that and spoiler or NSFW tags? (ok, nsfw does not load the picture until you click on the arrow but what about the others?)- 4,042 replies

it's custom moderation:awesome: It would be cool to hear that modded Marshall with Jensen P10R's. (the original bassman speakers) On the other hand i have never heard anyone raving about Jensen speakers.- 4,042 replies

My mids always makes sense when i play along guitar pro or a real recording, on their own they are a bit too much. That is why i didn't really like humbuckers on their own, i found them a bit muddy but they suddenly sounded good when i played along real tracks.

Is there a proper QOTSA - Little Sister tab out there? Most of the tabs i have seen have nothing in common with Josh's live fingering of the notes.

I've posted this once or twice but i think this is worth posting until someone makes one and tell us if it's work. (it is a pickup impedance simulator which you can put anywhere in your pedalboard, the effect after it will "think" that you plugged your guitar straight into it) http://www.muzique.com/lab/pickups.htm

man, that looks too good for a guitar neck, i would fear a little bit from ruining it somehow while playing it.

i dislike bigsbys but somehow your guitarist's guitar pulls it off. lol by the looks of it, you have a much bigger pedalboard than your guitarist. -
It is a good thing if it have a tracking number, i remember once i pursued a package through some post offices without tracking number, they couldn't do shit without it. If you find the tracking number you could send it to me and i gonna ask the post offices here but id give it a few more weeks before starting messing with the post offices, once i had a packet from the USA which arrived after like 10+ weeks.

Hi!
not yet, but so far everything arrived sooner or later from the USA so i am not stressing on that. Maybe the volcano fucked up the things a bit.

http://soundcloud.com/dontpostthepear/blah Ok, so here's my first stuff which is longer than 2 marsbars. Not much more musical content though, I did it only for mastering critique, so i didn't spend too much time on the musical side of the things. So it is short which is good. I find that crash in the middle really shitty but somehow i left it in. My first question is that, what gives the overall shitty aura of the track? Too compressed? Shit instrument tones? Track is too empty? (i could insert some background noises and/or pads but i still have to learn a lot of about them so i think i couldn't come up with any bearable stuff and i don't want to use presets from Kore) Anyways is there any producing/mastering/mixing thread? -

probably i shouldn't critique anything yet because i am still rocking the 2 bar loops and try to get through the 400 page user guide of reaper but i would did something to the drums on the the parts without wobwob (verses?) i hated the sound of the kick, it had no low end on my headphone but it had a strong high frequency attack. i have a feeling that since my HD555's low end is not to great, my mixes would be bass heavy on other systems but i don't know. anyways, how to do those seemingly random (it sounds synced, but at different tempos) LFO speeds on the cutoff freq. knob?
