  1. Yeah I'm pretty sure they were iPod versions! I'll PM you the links to the video files I converted.

Great, you got YCHISMB! That was pretty much all I was listening to for a bit, but right now, I've been listening to their first album more. And yes, thank goodness we like a legitimate band!

I was reading in my room earlier, and I heard "No You Girls" on the TV in my sister's room. I lit up and rushed into her room. I had asked her earlier if she saw the ad yet and she said she didn't, but when I came in her room, she said she "heard the ad before."

I wonder if I'll be hearing more of the song at the store now.

  2. Yeah they had all of them, at least when I went there to buy the CDs. If anything, you can go to borders.com, search for each album, and check store inventory to see whether they have it in stock or not. When you click on the item, there's a little space on the right for you to type in your ZIP code and it'll check the store inventory of nearby stores. This might be a little surprising, but I just did a search for Showbiz and it looks like Borders Ward has it in stock. When I went there to buy it over the summer, I literally took the last copy that was in the rack!

Did you know we got hail too? Well not recently, but I remember someone telling me a while back that Pearl City got a freak hailstorm a long time ago.

And the pic's on Microcuts: http://www.microcuts.net/gallery/details.php?image_id=5475 Paul and Nick are in there, too, as well as (I believe) Rich Costey, who produced and mixed YCHISMB, Absolution and BHAR.

  3. Yeah, Craig Ferguson is the Late Late Show on CBS. Franz is appearing next Friday (February 7), though. I found the info over here: http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCProgram.do?t=The-Late-Late-Show-With-Craig-Ferguson&pgmId=EP007151230868

Were you able to get the avatar working?

  4. Yeah, I love the Ulysses video too! I was searching the Internet last night and stumbled upon a website that had it for download! For free and great quality too! Go here and right-click the "MOV" link below the band's picture and select the download option. I'm so happy I have it on my computer!

Sometimes it's the ad agencies that can't produce anything creative, but a lot of the time it's the clients, too. At the marketing agency I interned with and at the place I work at now, there have been a few times when we came up with ideas for clever ads, but the client was just too conservative to go with it and wanted us to do something traditional and boring. Like they were already assuming that people would be too stupid to "get it." I don't blame them, but at the same time, a good commercial will make your business look better. Like, I really like the Ala Moana commercials. No dialogue, just good music, good cinematography, and good text treatment on the screen. And it gives Ala Moana a classier image, not an embarrassing one.

Thanks for the input for the Muse songs! I was thinking that Absolution would be the album to start her off with, though Origin of Symmetry is a really good album, too. I was looking at all the Muse songs I had, and I realized it would be intimidating for a new listener to have all that music and not know where to start. Especially the miscellaneous b-sides, Hullabaloo, and HAARP.

  5. Yeah, I wish the whole thing with my wallet never happened. I wasn't thinking straight with three hours of sleep and just being tired overall after the concert.

    "That's right, bitches - I lei'd Matt!"

Awww thank you! But I agree with you - Matt... *swoons some more* I've been sleeping with this picture. :chuckle:

I don't venture in the PMT but they'd probably be jealous/have a field day with it!

No, not a ton of fans hounding them, thankfully. After I lei'd him :chuckle: he let out his adorable/hilarious laugh, then took off for a bit. Then later, when I came back from my hotel room, I took that photo with him. It was hard to talk in there because the music was so loud, and I couldn't form words! All I said to him was, "Hi," "I made this lei for you" and "thank you." And I touched his right shoulder when we took that pic together lol.

Maaaan, I wish there was a way for all fans to meet them! I seriously didn't think that would actually happen to me.

  6. Yeah, it's repetitive. And I guess that's why I have a hard time getting into Radiohead, they do seem pretty boring, hehe.

My weekend was okay. Worked at Apple yesterday then went to the new Costco in Kapolei today. Didn't go to Target though because there were so many other people that were going there, plus we bought milk and food from Costco so we pretty much had to go straight home anyways. Chilled the rest of the day.

    How about yours?

  7. Yeah, there's always that conscious effort to not overtalk about Muse (or anything else) for fear of being perceived as an obsessive weirdo. I know what that's like.

When you mentioned he was one of the winners, I went to AFI's website and found him among the five winners, and figured he must be Scott, since he's the only one from Honolulu.

That radio contest was really a miraculous stroke of luck because I usually never win anything! Jimmy Eat World was my second concert I've ever been to, but it was the first time I was caught in a crowd surge. I was with my sister and some friends, and my sister in particular couldn't handle it so we had to go outside for a few minutes to recuperate. But otherwise the concert was awesome. This was when I was just getting into them so the show helped grow my interest in them further, especially since they played a few b-sides I wasn't familiar with at the time. Plus the guys of Jimmy Eat World are really friendly, laidback guys, so it was cool we got to meet them. :)

YCHISMB took a few listens for it to grow on me. I've been listening to the album in order and now I'm at the point where I'm actually having a hard time skipping tracks because I like most of the songs on the album. "Do You Want To" is so friggin' catchy! I also love "The Fallen" and "Eleanor Put Your Boots Back On," and right now, I have "Walk Away" stuck in my head.

FF has more music videos than I thought. They don't have a LOT, but hadn't seen most of them. I stumbled upon this website: http://franzferdinand.co.hu/videok. I like saving videos to my laptop though, but I only managed to find a torrent for the "Walk Away" video. A few of the others are for sale on iTunes, but I usually check to make sure they aren't available for free anywhere else before purchasing.

  8. Yeah, you're right about the Phoenix/Franz thing. More work than it's worth. But I found myself looking up the venue on Google Maps earlier today. I didn't realize how close to the airport it was.

That "Twatlight" outburst made me chuckle.

I know this is totally random, but I just noticed your birthday is on June 13. Rivers Cuomo (from Weezer), his birthday is on June 13 too.

  9. "'Sup"? :D Good to hear from another Hawaii fan!

  10. *gasp* Kylee's alive! You weren't grounded from the Internet or something, were you?

  11. 7 months? Cool, sounds like we got into Muse at around the same time, over the summer! :)

  12. Ah, sun is good. It's been raining on and off here in Hawaii for the past day or two. I like the rain, though, so I don't mind it too much. :)

  13. Are you planning to visit Austin during South by Southwest in March? I'll be there with most of my coworkers for the whole 11 days. :)

  14. Are you still in touch with the guy that introduced you to Muse?

  15. Christmas break extension, lucky you! Unless something catastrophic happens to the Apple Store, Ala Moana Center, and/or my route to the store (the latter would be the most likely), I'm expected to show up to work this weekend. But thanks to the storm and Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK Jr. Day on Monday ;)), I actually have some sort of weekend, the first in a while.

  16. Coachella! Have fun there. I would go if I wasn't already doing so much traveling this year (for work and for Muse!).

  17. Did you manage to get the RAH DVD working? I finished downloading it today and it seems like it's playing all right using my laptop's DVD player.

  18. Did you see the video of Muse recording in the bathroom? First thing I did at work today. :D Yay for Twitter and Musewire/Muselive.

  19. Gah, sorry I missed you in chat... again!

  20. Good question! No idea, so thanks for adding me! :)

  21. Good question. Maybe they got too cool for even the coolest band in school. ;-) Funny how we both asked questions related to their time in school.

  22. Haha I wish I could go there! Someday I'm sure. My sister is four years younger than me and she got to go to Italy before me!

  23. Haha random but cool. At least they actually were in your dream!

  24. Haha thanks! I made it myself. And yes, I'm in a Franz Ferdinand phase right now, lol... until that new Muse album comes out! Did you see the in-studio pics they posted on their Twitter account yesterday?

  25. Haha WORD. You're welcome! Enjoy! :)
