Life is Beautiful wasn't bad tbf, and anything with Butterflies & Hurricanes in pro-shot deserves brownie points. But of the televised gigs, Reading looked like the best one.

I've been seeing a spam site on Facebook saying they'll play the O2 in London next year in the autumn. But I honestly would've thought something might turn up in the summer with all t'other Europe dates announced & yet to be announced.
If they were to play stadium gigs, they would be obliged to play mastodontic setlists like they did during The Unsustainable Tour, and I'm not sure if Matt wish to go down that route again without filling the setlists with interludes and the other mumbo-jumbos to rest his voice.Think on that tours it was 24 full songs with 2 drum & bass jams plus the full version of Isolated System... maybe 5 extra songs with an extra jam compared to the 15/16 they've been doing?
-
Innit, it’ll be 8 years since they last played Wembley.
Not sure about 6 stadiums though, are they hot enough for that?
Think they only did 4 stadium shows for The Unsustainable Tour, and even then I don't think they sold out the Coventry or Manchester nights.
Saying that, they sold out pretty much every night on the April tour last year, drew a big Glastonbury crowd, and seemed to draw a big Reading crowd, so would imagine they're still big enough to do more than just one in London.
-
Yeah one of my guesses for a UK date would've been Isle of Wight before their announcement. And again, I still find it weird Liam Gallagher gets equal billing with Depeche Mode. Not relevant, but still.
The one I had thought they could do was BST Hyde Park, which still has one slot to announce (based on 6 shows last year), and Muse have never played there, but I dunno... maybe its too obvious a guess. Maybe they'll do their own gig, or just skip the UK altogether.
-
can't wait to find out if this collab is better than The Last Shadow Puppets (Kane-wise).
I like TLSP. Even if live they need to remember to turn the bass on.
-
New tour date added at a festival in Mexico.
I swear Muse had been announced for Pa'l Norte ages ago.

"More than 2017" could be two songs, couldn't it?
Or one and a half?
-
Maybe TRNSNT but probsbly not.
Would be a good shout tbf, but who knows. I know most of the 2 weekends are set in stone already.
If we're just idly speculating and Rock in Rio hints it'll be festivals next summer, maybe BST Hyde Park is an outside bet for an England show. Maybe. I would've been tempted to say Isle of Wight as a maybe given its been a while since Muse did there but that's now out given they have their bill out.
Speaking of, Depeche Mode and Liam Gallagher co-headlining the Saturday seems weird. Not least given DM are likely gonna be playing the longer set.
Think it’s meant to be later than that, more towards the end of the year. That was back when they were still planning on focusing on regular single releases though iirc so plans could’ve changed, I guess. Either way, yeah, I’d be confident on a new single making the rounds by then. The interview on KROQ before the Almost Acoustic Christmas gig seems to be indicate that it'll be new singles during 2018 with an album at the end of the year, maybe early 2019.
But then, given the contradictions going on every time the subject comes up, who knows?

Thought Contagion or Fourth Contagion?
... guess will see when it turns up. Don't care too much about the style, just as long as its any good.
-
Well, if there's meant to be an album out by next summer, then I'd have thought more newies than Dig Down would make the setlist.
Wonder where they might do for the UK if they return here once more given they've recently done Glastonbury and Reading, and Isle of Wight has no headline slots left... own show, maybe?
-
I had no idea they were even touring. I guess it's gonna be either The Killers / Muse / Arctic Monkeys.
I've heard AM being linked with various festivals, including a few in the UK and Coachella on the internet. Could all be speculation, but they're meant to be coming with an album next year.
-
Pearl Jam and a Depeche Mode/QOTSA co-headline have been confirmed, but there's a vacant headline slot on July 13th that's still tbc.

There's another show confirmed - they're playing the Carolina Rebellion Festival with Queens of the Stone Age and Incubus as subs on May 6th.

First European date is a go in the form of Rock in Rio Lisboa on June 23rd.
-
Was a radio single in Australia too. One of those weird country-exclusive singles like Big Freeze and Aftermath (great company to keep ).
Oh I didn't know that.
I recall Big Freeze being used for such purposes, but not so much the other two.
-
MK Ultra is the one I'm not sure of, given I only really recall the video being done for an MTV anti-human trafficking campaign.
-
Would've also thought that getting Tom Morello's seal of approval would have kept it around.
Certainly, I'd rather see it than some of the others that crop up year-on-year. But then that might be down to simply having not seen it before.

Would've thought so given their 2004, 2007 and 2009 performances were streamed online somewhere.
But then I've not been keeping tabs on this event for a while.

Pretty sure the band have said they're planning on touring Europe next year, ya.
Fair enough. As indeed there was in the link above from Matt saying they're aiming to play Belgium next year.
Wonder if it might mean new production as well, given they'll have taken the Tetris blocks all over the place by then. Imagine it might well do if there's a new album out.
Rock Werchter 2018?Ugh if it is I'll be a fool and go because of what happened last time and get the worst set ever.
Sods law innit?
Didn't they have a live performance of Supremacy with an orchestra? At the Brit Awards in 2013, yeah.
Full tour is different though. Or even full gigs. I remember Matt saying they wanted a full orchestra for Glastonbury in 2010 before they ultimately didn't play with one. Or even do any of Exo.

Hence the phrase "the televised ones"... or maybe live-streamed if we're doing a more accurate term in the 2010's.
Though I'm tempted to dock points from SBE as the best one purely because I'm still pouting that I missed out.
