This song proves to me that Matt can still write something I can relate to almost as much as Showbiz, even if he does it in his more modern-era-Muse-clumsy way. This song hits pretty close to home for me, personally.I think what people fail to understand is that he just doesn't write lyrics as eloquently as he used to. The last good album that was lyrically strong in that sense was BHAR. We're past that stage. It doesn't mean that the content of the lyrics can't still be good.

The bridge onwards sounds a lot like Glorious by Andreas Johnson. Very easy to sing the melody to Glorious to the backing of Dead Inside anyway!

I was listening to 1989 while waiting for DI to drop; the resemblance is uncanny.
Tay is good, but 1989 isn't her best work, and I prefer this song to anything on it. Red is another story, because Trouble and 22 are insanely fucking good songs. Time will tell.

Don't understand the hype for Newport. Assassin is overrated, and Futurism needs to give Uno its spot back.
