  1. Pretty much. I don't hate Aussies themselves, I just don't think they deserve any better than the rest of us. But then again, we all deserve better than the setlists we have been givem. That of course is down to Muse, who clearly do not give a fuck about anywhere else. This tour has been a crock of shit.
  2. I think Liron is right with the paranoia thing. I recall discussing it in another thread. I think it's one of the reasons MK isn't played that often. He has fucked it up numerous times. With regards to the future, I worry that Matt will have less confidence in himself - which is odd considering so many people idolise his guitar/piano skills. Lack of confidence is ultimately going to result in safe songs being played....which leads us back to the generic setlist. I don't think anything will change. We've been ranting about this for a year now...still no light at the end of the tunnel. I don't think they care.
  3. Don't be so rude. Seriously it's ridic that you came into this thread spouting ignorant opinions about what we were talking about. Esp when you had only read the tags. Excellent post. Welcome to the thread.
  4. I would say that was maybe the reason then. That and at festivals they know they have to up their games because they are going to be compared to the other acts that are there too. At Oxegen they really pulled it out of the bag because the line-up that weekend was amazing so they knew they couldn't make it a half arsed show.
  5. U2 are shite. I see a trend picking up pace here... Yes. Boring shows make things boring. I can predict every riff after each song, I can predict the order in which the set is going to go 90% of the time. I can predict when the show is going to end (ohai harmonica) - it's all shit. Bands with a back catalogue like Muse can afford to shake it up, they just don't want to. MK, US, IBTY - all TR songs, therefore should not be rare at all. Others, you need to be geographically planted in Asia or Turin. Soldiers Poem is a waste of time and I was disgusted they brought it back for the stadiums, like...seriously, just...what? Easy way out once again. Muse are not the best live band in the world anymore. Anyone who believes that they are in comparison to other bands/artists is a fool. I don't need to appreciate them, apparently doing that means we all get pissed over. Why would I appreciate a band who have an amazing back catalogue yet churn out 15 song sets for £40+? Pathetic.
  6. I understand that it's going to cost lots of money to get the stage transported, but then again, why can't they just leave it at home like they did for the Asia gigs? I don't care what the reasoning is, they can't justify that amount of money. Why should you guise get ripped off at the expense of their ridiculous stage set up travelling over? I also therefore think that the rarities are played to make it up to you guise for stealin' yo' monies'. I'm going with #2. I told you it would turn into a thread full of ranting. If I'm honest, you can't rock out at a Muse show anymore. I find it hard to rock out to GL, NSC, FG etc etc. The thing is they aren't "Muse" we used to know...they're just their own tribute band.
  7. TO THE GAGA THREAD.

    :chuckle:

I posted pics and vids from last night. Thought you'd like to see. :$

  8. To be honest you should not have to pay 130 if it means you get rare tracks. You guise are being ripped off and rare songs shouldn't even come into it. Anyway, money or not, we all deserve the same treatment...only we don't get it. That said, Irish dates seem to get far better set lists than UK dates. Maybe they just hate the UK?
  9. I know it's called, I just don't like the name lol. Dead Star rarely gets a play now so it's hardly something to write home about, you'd agree. Yeah as you say, outros are shit...I actually know what's coming at the end of every live track. You are correct, and Musewiki might implode. lol. You are made of so much win it's ridic. I agree with ALL of the above...and I swear I am pissed off already at the Aussie tour because I know we (ie: those not living there/attending these gigs) are going to get pwnd.
  10. I'm bored of them playing the same riffs over and over and over. Why not play their own sodding riffs or outros at the ends of songs? I remember the time Micro Cuts was played as the outro to Dead Star in Japan...like, why can't they be that spontaneous all the time? I agree, take away the riffs and jams and you'd lose half an hour easy. I'm actually not that bothered about the new material being played, I expect it. Like you say, it's the fact that it's the same older tracks being thrown at us every gig. I wish they'd mix it up more. Seriously, it makes me sad that I don't want to see them anymore over the head of their laziness. +1. I agree with this. I'm bored of it now. What's the point in playing it if you can't even be arsed playing it as it should be? I was shocked at how slow the click track was when I heard the Wembley bootleg. Matt seriously needs to get back in the game, this has lazy written all over it. Ridic.
  11. He doesn't have a Lady Gaga keytar. Which lets face it, shits all over his. As do her sunglasses. Oh...yeah KoC needs to be dropped as closer. As soon as I hear the harmonica I know it's time to pack up and leave.
  12. The way I see it is that when people think of Muse they think of Matt. Matt Bellamy is Muse to casual fans...or he's the only one people would recognise of the 3 of them - esp now he's banging KH. Sure Chris and Dom play a huge part but without Matt, who writes the songs (not great songs, but still) etc etc, they are shafted. So yeah, I'd say it is a case of what he says goes most of the time. Less hassle to argue with him I can only presume. Half assed with ridic excuses. Beautifully written script. It should be firmly in the back of Matts head for playing such bullshit.
  13. Oh I agree, which is why I'm not taking anything he says seriously. I'll wait and see what they come up with. By the by, I am not interested in a classical album at all. I want old skool Muse, none of this pansy crap about love. They took our jobs. I'm a real fan. Either Dom and Chris don't really give a shit and are just letting Matt take the lead, they are happy with the setlist, or they aren't a fan but can't be arsed arguing. I don't actually know what they are thinking, obv, but I'm just going by interviews etc. Oh, and I suggested to Chris he writes the sets from now on.
  14. Dom has passed comment on the set lists in the past and didn't seem 100% happy about it, and Chris looks bored as hell playing GL etc. Tbh maybe it's just easier to go with the flow in their opinion. I still think Matt's the driving point for all this shit.
  15. Generally I take everything Matt says with a pinch of salt. He's known for talking shit and whilst he might not be lying about the direction the new album will take I won't pass much judgement until I hear it myself. I'm not really holding high hopes for it and I agree with you that a lot of their older stuff is going to disappear, which has already happened and I think we are all starting to accept although we don't seem to want to take it without a fight. Not that anything we say is making much difference, they don't really listen to fans...hey ho. Based on this tour and their attitude in general (and when I say 'their' I mean Matt pretty much) I am still a Muse fan but only a fan of who they used to be and the music they used to make. I said Wembley would be my last Muse gig, and right now I'm standing by my word. They fucked European fans over and they've done the same to American fans so I can't justify seeing them again right now. I can see this thread turning into another rant about setlists and the usual arguments rearing their heads but I think you made a really good post. Sad to consider how far Muse have came and just how much they threw by the wayside now they have made it there. What do I think we can expect from future sets? Exactly what we have now....only OoS and Showbiz tracks will be pretty much gone (bar PiB and FG) and I think most of Abso will be rare too. They obv have to make way for the new material but obv they're not planning to extend their sets. So, same shit, different shovel.
