  1. its got a ghost bridge, so its all just that. I mean, if someone ordered something i'd do it. but I cant afford to be just making stuff and hoping someone buys it, because they dont, and my walls are full
  2. well, I completely forgot about this. in case anyone's interested, here it is finished. also, it looks like this will be my last one. I can't keep making things that no one buys, because, you know, money and stuff. so yeah, this is it by the looks of things.
  3. got some goodies I'm going to change the tuner buttons because they're just not pretty. I've ordered some ebony versions and i'll shape them to a more 510 styley
  4. I'm going to be making an order to graphtech soon and i'll be saving £200!!!!!!!!!! by spending £200. but you know.
  5. yup. and the one on the cover is on the body underneath it so if the plate gets taken off its the same underneath
  6. just need a few more flowers on the scratchplate then do the inlay on the cover
  7. yes the cover will have inlays on it. and no not guitars - a family and then 9 Labrador puppies!!!!!!
  8. i have been busy doing some photoshoots (my first two ever!) so haven't been getting on with this - but i wanted to have an ebony p90 cover so i could continue the cherry blossom design onto that, but they cost £35-40 so i thought i'd try to make my own. but i don't have a big clump of ebony, so i settled for a flamey base with an ebano (left over from the scratchplate and jack socket/battery holder) top. and obviously it will have branches and flowers inlayed soon
  9. the graphtech ratio tuners don't come with any buttons i like, but i can get them for $30 instead of $100, so i think I might buy some wooden buttons shaped like 510s
  10. i just used tube and filled them with epoxy or something. but if you wanted to match the fretboard, i suppose you could get a bit of the same type of wood and use the tube as a drill to get little circles of it or something like that
  11. yeah i think I've only had to pay once when I've got stuff from gotoh. using an online calculator, it reckons that if i got $150 (canadian) worth (which i would have to the first time), then i'd be charged about £45 customs. which is a lot, but still a lot less than if i just bought it from a shop. and i don't know how you'd go about getting it - i just got an email one day from somebody at graphtech asking if i wanted a builders account.
  12. with the prices of the graphtech stuff with a builders account I'm seriously considering putting a ghost system in this one. seriously, the bridge i'd get is $250, but with a builders account is $90, and the pre-amp kit is down from $150 to $50. bargain or what! unless customs adds a shitload to it. the bastards
  13. i just counted, and i have inlayed 1305 tiny flowers and petals, and with the 12th fret inlay that's 1310. theres about another 40 to do for the jack plate and scratchplate (which will be the same as whats underneath it, so a total of 1350 individually cut and inlayed pieces
  14. well. i was thinking either: sky blue, so it looks like a tree against the sky, OR a bit risky maybe... sky blue all the way to the bottom, with like a pinky purply burst going up from the bottom, like when you get those pink clouds in the evening reason for not cherry red is because whilst the flowers stand out really well against it, the branches kinda get lost and I'm going to burn in the little twigs so the flowers are connected to the branches (I've tried it it looks good) and maybe even paint in some pink behind the flowers (just like brush strokes) so it fills it out a bit more rather than looking like individual flowers
  15. I got sent a builders catalogue (digital) from Graphtec with ridiculously tempting low prices in it. so if theres no minimum order requirements, this guitar may well be getting Graphtec hardware. and if i had the money it would get a ghost system too, as the builders price is very reasonable, but still too much to just get on a whim
  16. in case anyones wondering why i'm taking so long, this little clump took me 2 hours today. ok, its freezing cold so my fingers don't work so well, but yeah. also, finger so you can see how small the flowers are. also also, its looking like i'll have to end up cutting more. bastard.
  17. same as it was before. I've been cutting flowers, then I had flu for a few days, a cold/cough for a week, so just getting back to stuff. I've got the fretboard ready for radiusing then inlay. I want to get as much inlay on the front and back done as I can before sticking it all together
  18. got to start somewhere I suppose. ps, it looks a mess because its just been glued in. and the black around the edges is because the woods burning from my bit. I've got new bits on their way
