  1. Yeah, I don't think treadle actually matters, but out of habit I leave it toe down. I remember a couple of years ago with the Whammy IV and MOTP that it wouldn't work heel down, dunno why. But yeah, the DAW should do everything
  2. toe down. Doesn't matter whether it's on or off, Logic turns it on/off for me
  3. it is like that isn't it? On the cover I posted I don't touch the whammy once and goes to the right pitch and all I think
  4. Yeah I just have a cheap one and it works perfectly
  5. I should really know more about MIDI and channels and all but I literally have no idea about it. Luckily the MIDI on the Whammy 5 is simpler I think. Either way Bucket got the one I sent him working (once he actually plugged the correct lead into the whammy cough cough ) AFAIK I have two things to sort out then should have a bang on live version of it
  6. James, for the nut strike part do you suggest going between bypass and -1oct then?
  7. I'm using +2 oct and bypass cos I'm not even striking above the nut so need to get it to that pitch in the first place! I'll probably try sort that out sometime... On buckets it sounded like it was from Mario Kart or something
  8. James, if you use mine when you strike above the nut does it sound like an 8bit computer game?
  9. Do you want the current one or the finished one? Still got a few things I wanna tweak a little, like the nut strike bit. Made a PDF of the tab which is accurate as far as I can tell, will probably make a big post with that and the MIDI files for 4 and 5 at some point
  10. You're too late :O Bucket already tried it. Although since I've sent it to him I've already tweaked it again. Reckon I've definitely got it 100% now except I can't strike behind the nut
  11. Apart from the weird thing in the verse where it works sometimes when it wants to and doesn't the rest of the time I think mine's pretty much 99.99999999% spot on to the live version
  12. Yeah Animals and Unsustainable are the only ones I play Has anyone got a IV and midi usb cable that wants to try out a MIDI file for the IV since I can't actually check if it's right just don't upload a cover to yootoob before I do
  13. Takes me 5 seconds to open Logic and another 5 probably to connect the cable, no hassle for me Just changed all the program changes so that the Whammy is on chords mode and it's still going fucked up on the 5 in the verse, gotta be expression then right? EDIT: Apart from it only does it every now and then. Confused
  14. and the 3 is slightly flat. Wat u doin Whammy
  15. Got a better version now where I merged all the separate MIDI regions into one. For some reason on the 5 in the verse it's not playing it an octave down and for the life of me I can't work out why as the program change and expression are both right
  16. Yeah Logic displays it differently
  17. I think that MIDI file was the right one and surely anything with a backing track is 'restricting' in ways? Not sure how you could make it less restricting Shikari use shitloads of sort of backing tracks and MIDI whammy shit but are still pretty free around the stage. Around 2:20 in this, MIDI stuff and Rory is a beast och7KEM2_r8
  18. yeah it's my favourite thread in KnT at the moment working this out has pretty much taught me all I know about MIDI, which to be fair still isn't much And yeah, the way I have it, just click play in Logic, it plays the audio and sends MIDI at the same time to the whammy making it go all weeoooo
  19. Yeah, I do like this whole Whammy MIDI business. There's a few other songs I've got files for as well like MOTP, MK Ultra, Meltdown and Gandhi by Shikari. Unsustainable is definitely the most complicated, but I love the whole idea of sort of blending guitars/dubstep, and not even just like slides and stuff. It's just badass
  20. There is one Whammy 5 at least. Ridiculous amount of settings on the 5, you have one for each setting, then a bypass for each setting, then both all again but for chords mode
