  1. Sounds like your girlfriend keeps locking her knees while standing. Even the strongest dudes will pass out if they do that long enough. Remember to bend and flex your legs as much as possible, and usually, no matter how much people push, you will be ok. The crowd will surge forward but will usually surge back in the opposite direction in moments. If you remain calm and just ride out the surge, you will actually learn to anticipate and even enjoy the "washing machine" effect. It is very similar to being chest deep in the ocean with waves of water pushing and pulling you as the waves roll in and out.
  2. Hello Phil. I hope things are going well for you.

  3. Good! Both healthy and boppin around. How are you?

  4. Yeah geeks are so damn cute! And my friend actually works on the show so he gets to see him nearly every day! My friend is a guy though, so he doesn't appreciate the handsomeness!

  5. The thread still lives!!! My first Muse gig was also my first pit experience. Luckily, I had been to other band gigs, and watched the insanity of the floor from the safety of my seat. Some kids out there are complete n00bs, and not only have a miserable time at the gig, but make those around them miserable as well. Be prepared, Don't Be a Dick, and most importantly of all, have fun!
  6. Lol! Told you you was hawt! Now not only the chat ladies want you, but ALL the board ladies want you! You DEVIL YOU! Love ya Sweetums!

  7. Depends on how much jumping and dancing you do. I was in a seat for ACX and I still lost half my body weight in sweat! I go a bit wild If you are going to a gig in the states, you will likely be the first in line If you plan on being there that early, I hope you either have someone waiting with you that you can switch off with, or someone who can deliver snacks and stuff to you.
  8. Yeah, things only tend to get crazy in the the front, or if some morons try to actually mosh somewhere. If you are lucky enough to be tall, you may want to consider staying back a bit, and leaving the rail to us vertically challenged midgets
  9. The Chris side is usually tamer than Matt's side, although when I was on Chris's side in Utah, the crowd was really rough! I thought Utah was conservative! That had to be the youngest crowd I had been in though. The kids tend to go a bit crazier than us older kids
  10. I am interrupting my Muse obsession for a moment with my Mythbusters obsession: I just tweeted a question to Tory from Mythbusters and he responded!!! :awesome: Sorry! He is so hot!!!
  11. Most definitely, tell security! If you have been on the rail since the beginning, the security guards will most likely threaten to pull out anyone that tries to force you off the rail. I have seen several people kicked out for doing what this person did. Which reminds me, if you are on the rail, make nice with security directly in front of you. They will definitely look out for you and prevent this sort of thing. Some security dudes are super sweet!
  12. Oh...and when everyone jumps...FUCKING JUMP WITH THEM!!! They usually jump to the rhythm of the music. The experience of being in the middle of hundreds of people jumping at the same time is just It is also less painful if you jump along.
  13. It really depends on a lot of factors. If you are really short, you need to be either up front, or way back where you can see. I am short and like to be up front, despite the risks. And would take a pummeling on the rail over a seat any day! And yes, I have always enjoyed the music. There is no risk of not being able to hear it, no matter where you are, or how many people around you are singing along.
  14. Better to find out now then in the pit! Another thing: If someone wants out and needs help climbing over the rail, please offer a hand. Just be careful because the crowd tends to jump in immediately after the person has gone over the side to fill in the space they have vacated. If you are far enough away from the rail, it is usually easier to make your way sideways or backwards to another exit.
  15. That is because you are an ANIMAL! I didn't find it that bad either, but there were quite a few people that had to be pulled out. One poor girl apparently had a seizure! This is just basic advice for teh pit n00bs. Don't want any of them to miss out on an amazing gig because they were unprepared.
  16. LOL! You literally beat me in creating the thread by 3 minutes! Still glad we were able to impart some important knowledge to all you Musers out there. Mary has taken her share of punishment for her fave band and keeps coming back for more! Take precautions, and maybe we'll see one of y'all out there rocking alongside us!
