There's not a single sentence in that review that implies that Ian Cohen hates Muse. He also reviewed The 2nd Law and he gave it a 5.5.
It's common knowledge he hates Muse. And T2L is definately worse by miles than Drones.

Pitchfork is always bashing Muse. Absolutely ridiculous 4.5. Way too low.
And they rate shitty mediocre indie acts 6-7 all the time.

Noo it was fantastic. The guitar is way heavier as well. The same with Mercy. The chorus saves it.

After a few more listens, I feel Globalist is a masterpiece. It might know feel cohesive at first listen, but the more you listen the better it gets. I had a similar feeling with Exogenesis.

It might be a controversial opinion but I think that the heavy part is the dullest part of the song. Not even the piano part. It's just the same easy riff all over with little changes. THe parts before and after are even more versatile.
But I love the heavy part as well just everyone seem to lose their minds for that part.

I totally agree. That part might be the best thing they have done in a long time. Sad it is only a few seconds.

I've seen Muse like 5 times and this was the best I think. Even better than Wembey was with Neutron Star Collision and all the cheese
