  1. I still would have much rather seen UD than the alternative we got on the second half of the tour, which was one fewer song.

Yeah back in 2013 UD was being rotated with Guiding Light and of course at my show they played GL 😑 And if I'm not mistaken back in the US Drones tour they may have been rotating UD and Resistance and we got Resistance, which I'd honestly rather hear UD, but then again I've been a advocate for UD for quite some time now

  2. Yeah I agree with Glorious being potentially hard to recreate live, I could see it being pretty easy for the chorus to sound all over the place. But yeah, for atleast US purposes let's focuse on an easier goal like a CE/Bliss rotation AND Plug in Baby, which is honestly as likely as them playing Glorious at this point

  3. I think they will use the 2016 festival stage for the US tour & for the US/Canada Festival.

The average setlist might be :

    [drill sergeant]

    01. Psycho

    02. Plug in Baby

    03. Interlude + Hysteria

    04. Map of the Problematique / Bliss / B&H /

    05. Resistance / Invincible (yeah i Know)

    06. Isolated System + The Handler

    07. SMBH

    08. Dead Inside

    09. Munich Jam or a brand new Jam "Orlando Jam" or West Palm Beach Jam"

    10. Madness

    11. Starlight

    12. Time is Running out

    13. Stockholm Syndrome

    14. Reapers / Take a Bow / Unnatural Selection

    15. Uprising

    16. Mercy

    17. MWAH + Knight of Cydonia

Yeah unfortunately I think this is what it's gonna be as well, except I don't think there will be that solid of a rotation in your number 4 slot, I think it'll probably just be MotP lol which I could live without seeing a 4th time

  4. There absolutely are acts that record a "live" track for their gigs in the studio, but it would be weird to do that for post-production on a DVD...

And if they've finally decided to go full lazy and pre-record their gig audio, hopefully they wouldn't be stupid enough to advertise it. :chuckle:

I still for some reason find it really hard to believe they're recording anything for release soon.

Yeah, if I were a betting man I'd put money on no new music for the upcoming tour, we shall see though..

  5. Yeah I wouldn't be expecting any new songs, but if I manage to get a ticket to the Tampa show which I believe is the 2nd show of of the tour I'm gonna make a strong effort to not look at the set list the night before, which would be a first for me lol but I'd rather be surprised with a shit setlist than know it's coming at this point lol

  6. Mercy seems like a more natural rotation for Starlight imo. Same with Panic Station for Supermassive, though I'm fine with that being a staple tbf

Shit, forgot about Mercy, another song that'll likely take a better songs slot on the coming tour lol. Would love to see Panic station over SMBH, especially if it's not the low octave fuzz version from T2L tour, although Panic Stations outing on the Drones Tour (not Montruex) was a train wreck so I'll bet they're reluctant to bring that out as well

  7. Also got a bad feeling that Reading/Leeds really is the only thing they're doing in Europe this year. Just looked at the line-up on the site and Muse are the only exclusive act that aren't specified as being festival-exclusive only.

I think a lot of people had suspected it for a while, ever since he started dropping the piano for it back on the TR Tour. There was a fan video last year where someone requested it outside a venue and Matt's reaction was effectively "fuck no, anything else pls" though, so that pretty much confirmed it :chuckle:

Shame, was fucking immense at Download, but maybe cameo appearances like that are actually better for it if that's how Matt feels.

I think I've seen that video I'd love to watch it again though lol. I just wish they didn't feel like they need to play both Resistance and Uprising at every show at this point, it'd be great if they'd rotate them (I'd pick Resistance given the choice) but forever reason Uprising is an absolute must in their set lists, but as is Starlight, madness, supermassive black hole which all start to take up too much room, although I'm not saying anything new am I?

  8. I think it's more that they judge what they 'should' play on whatever the biggest reactions, both with cheers and jumping around and stuff. Resistance, Madness, Knights, TIRO and Supermassive get big reactions but Fury doesn't so they assume it's not worth playing or that people don't wanna hear it. It's not just with rarities either when you look at what happened to Reapers.

It's not so much assuming that everyone there is a new fan, it's more that these are just the songs they think most people wanna hear. I can understand it, must be easy to perceive things like that when you're the one on-stage, Matt just goes a little overboard with it by playing hardly any songs (if any) for the people he knows appreciate those deeper cuts and waiting for smaller shows where they make up a bigger % of the crowd.

As for New Born specifically, I'm pretty sure Matt just personally hates it at this point.

shame if he really does hate New Born, the chorus alone is one of their best. But yeah, at the Philly show Resistance did get one of the bigger reactions/sing alongs of the night and I was just like DONT ENCOURAGE THEM

  9.

meh, on second thought, it's gonna be a largely garbage, single-filled, 75-minute (max) setlist that's aimed to please the american masses, no?

Yep, for some reason it seems like these days they treat every headline gig in the US as if it's a festival filled with a whole new audience they need to win over , when in reality the crowd is probably over half of people who have been coming to see them every show in their area for the past 5-10 + years

Edit: I mean seriously, wtf do they think is the worst thing that could happen, They bust out Newborn or Fury at a show and a new fan goes "WTF THIS ISNT SMBH?!!!?" And leaves ?

  10. I tried something similar for Europe last year and it did not work :chuckle:

(if there's one thing we should pool our efforts for it's a certain album in full)

Well I guess that would have to be Origin then lol, and Plug in Baby should not count as a rarity but that's where we're at right now With the US setlists lol

  11. We should all join forces and tweet Matt and try and get him to promise atleast 1 rarity per set on this tour lol, see if we can get a response from it, hell I'll take pretty much anything that wasn't a single from the past 3 albums and consider it a rarity at this point

  12. This whole tour still seems incredibly random to me, it seems like they're trying really hard out of nowhere to maintain relevance here in the US. Like if you had asked me two years ago if I thought they would ever play a festival like Bunbury or Firefly I'd say hell no, seems like they always kind of acted like they were above "lower tier" US festivals. Regardless I hope this show will be worth me having a panic attack over boarding a plane to go see them, fully expected a singles fest with Uprising and Resistance in the same set list
