II feel embarrassed if someone hears me listening to any new stuff from Muse, ultimately though I don't like seeing them live any more as a result.
Whatever that magic they had seems to have died a bit after Resistance, Uprising was a genius song for the time, but... I dunno.
So you are not attending Muse gigs anymore because you worry about what other people could think of your tastes. Right. Also, there's a thing called "headphones".
I'm from Spain and I hate corny lyrics. Having said that, Matt has always had crappy ones around (Intant Messenger, anyone?), so I have never worried a lot about them. It's just that the Cheese-o-meter has been reaching critical levels as of the last albums, leaving all subtle undertones far away. By the way, I fail to see what's makes "Uprising" so genius-like (I like the song itself, though), considering it's just a "Doctorin' the TARDIS" rework with vague statements of "us" versus "them" which not even RATM at their most demagogue moment would ever dare to pull. And then there was that live performance with the towers and such. If they wanted to evoke a fascist rally feel, they did on me. I don't think that was the case, but...
As for their magic, well... I felt they lost most of it past Absolution. Why am I here still? Because Muse mean a lot to me and they're still a great band.

My God, this song could be from the last album of My Chemical Romance.
That was exactly what I thought then I first listened to it.
P.S. Long days and pleasant nights.
-
Varia is better because it reminds me of the Varia Suit from Metroid.
Which is why I voted for it.
-
Why's that?
I have no idea. It just wouldn't go past that. Some days later, it worked correctly. The CD was okay, since I blasted it when I reached home. I still remember the Cornetto strawberry ice cream I ate whilst listening to it.
-
CD+Spotify for me, as I fear I won't be able to carry my Discman to the store and listen the album on my way home, just like I used to until BHAR. And even then, it wouldn't go past the first part of "Take a Bow".

DI's origin of inspiration:
It always was one of my favourite BSB songs, so fine with me. My 2001 self would find it hysterical, though. One thing's for sure: that "deaaad insiiiide!" sounds too much like a Max Martin work (can't tell if one for Britney Spears, *NSYNC or BSB) in the late Nineties/early Noughties.

Now that's something I had been looking for ever since I saw them myself. Thanks heaps!

Would love to see Matt attempt to sing More Than A Feeling - Boston
I wouldn't mind if they ever covered "Foreplay/Long Time". "Foreplay" alone would do the trick for me.

Lol links to interviews please.
I'm afraid all I can provide's the quote from the Rock Sound magazine it came from:
"I am sick of all those groups which sound like Radiohead. It seems to me as if they were all companies. Muse are more interested in paying their bills than making good music."
Funnily, the same issue had an interview with Muse in which Matt said that Feeling Good would be a B-side.
I translated it from the Spanish version, but if anyone still owns another RS issue printed in another language from those days (early 2001), I'd advise to check it, considering that the different RS branches often shared articles.

That'd be awesome. Too bad Mogwai don't like Muse (I remember having read one ages ago in which one of the members said that Muse created music "to pay their bills" or something along the lines of that).

If any, it makes me sing louder to compensate. But yes, it might be a bit sad at times. I remember when I saw them last time and I got a ticket on one of those .mu ticket presales, which in my case was more of a post-sale.... I fet a bit down when barely anyone in my zone (people who know Muse better) didn't react to the likes of "Host" or "Falling Down".
Then again, being a hardcore fan!=prefering their older stuff!

Oh well...

So "love" is bigger than "souls". All hope is gone!
Absurd stuff aside, thanks for doing it.

It reminds me of Explorers' chorus for some reason XD
-
I noticed some Russians tend to do it. Perhaps they're all Sunn O))) fans in disguise or something
-
I' ve always dreamed of something like that, considering how similar they are.
-
Very well done! I loved the not-so-8 bit Street Fighter II samples.

The intro transition from piano to guitar is one of the best things ever.
I don't give a shit what the rest of it sounds like after that.
My thoughts exactly. Although I have to admit I sometimes skip the song after listening to that transition.

Thank goodness I have the power to correct grammar.
That has to be one of the best powers ever! I just had a small argument on another forum with a dude who was acting victim-like because he wrote a great article, I dared to point out there were three minor grammar mistakes and I was accused of "derailing the comment box" and "throwing shit all over the article", despite saying I liked it. Oh well, thank Facebook for underrating the words "I Like It".
Now that the vent is over...

I always wanted to see the "real thing" aside from the bit with Zane and the "here's-King-Arthur" one, so thanks a lot.

Resistance
Starlight
Explorers
Guiding Light
Big Freeze

I'd also add their "House of the Rising Sun" cover.

Okay, I didn't know where to post this, but hey...
I hadn't visited the new and flashy .mu in ages. Imagine my face when I tried to signed in with this account as usual, all to get a "Sorry, we could not log you in - please try again". I thought I had to fill in the data for the site, which I tried, using my username. Of course, it said it was not available.
Does that mean I have to create yet another account for .mu because I can't have access with the board's or is there a way to log in as it used to be with the previous .mu incarnation?
Edit- Fixed it by saying I had forgotten my password (blatant lies!). I hope it won't clash with the board's...

To see one of the bands who influenced you in that way going "normal" is heartbreaking.
Indeed. If I´m posting on this forum it´s because of the ability to made me feel "strange" emotions they possessed back in the day.Now that lovely feeling is nearly lost.
What song would you most like Muse to do a cover of?

According to a Rock Sound magazine interview I read back in the day (late 2003), Matt claimed they didn't like how Serjican Strike was a part of Sony. Still, they hoped for a collaboration between them "one day".
